I just recently discovered your channel, so I'm three years late for this but, you sort of... forgot a dragon. It's rather surprising that nobody ever talks about this one, as he is 'somewhat' important to our quest to defeat Alduin. He is the one named Odahviing, that we - as the player, lure into our trap in Dragon's Reach, because we need his help. I would love to know his back story. Anyway, you have a great channel and I've been binge watching - in order, from the beginning video. I'm really enjoying the content, it's quite in depth. Greetings from the U.S. 🐉

Seems unlikely. Dragons don't bend to no one (accept Miraak and Alduin) and there're stories about how just a normal dragon wiped out one of finest and most advanced Dwemer Strongholds by himself like its nothing because he needed a new home.

      1. The guy who just defeated him was right next to him.
      2. He wished to see whether the LDB is truly had the potential to defeat Alduin because even dragons saw him as a tyrant. Considering his subsequent aid, it's possible he simply prioritized the potential benefit of staying and offering his aid.
When that dragon who casually destroyed the entire Dwmer Stronghold (which rivaled Dumacs kingdom), the Dwemer unleashed their finest work in defense of their home but all that was nothing compared to that one dragons power. Just goes to show how powerful dragons are according to lore.

regarding the black reach dragon, has anyone thought that maybe he wasn't already in the cave before you use ur thuum on the ball? with what we know about the dwarves, maybe it possible that the ball was some sort if atherium (forgot how to spell it) device that activates with tonal manipulation (aka our shout), so the dragon was transported there or something idk

@@wlarson55109I mean considering they call it tones and shouting is noise based it isn't that much of a stretch to suggest the dunmer knew of and used the thuum. It's likely all magic in Tamriel is based in sound somehow given the Dunmer were the most advanced race who didn't care about the gods and basically worshipped those tones

    • @Ja1sc3L113r
      @Ja1sc3L113r Před 4 měsíci

@@Jiub_SN if i remember correctly, "music", is exactly how Nirn was created. Another example of song/tones manipulating reality, would be "sword singers", singing certain tines to enchant, sharpen, whatever a blade if not summon am aetherial blade.
Then, we have the Thuum of the Nords.
And the tonal architecture of the Dwemer.
Chances are, there are levels of finesse and power, like physics. You can use addition, multiplication, what have you to solve MOST of the worldly problems. This is the lowest level, and would be the Thuum.
Then we habe more advances mathematics that can quantify and predict advanced metaphysics and quantum mechanics. This would likely be eaual to, or lesser to the knowledge of the Dwemer.
Then we can look at mages and spells. Thos are.somewhere in between the thuum and the Tonal architecture, and probably have bits of both. But instead of a field, they are VERY specific formulas, that if you calculate incorrectly, using the incorrect.formula or integer, you die.
You get one variable wrong in fire cloak, you are burned alive into a husk.
You miscalculate your healing spell, and either nothing happens, or you kill your intended patient.
And sword singing i think is a very specific mathematical formula that Redguards seem to naturally understand. (Genetic memory maybe?).
It is barely unique to them, somce the school of cojuration can teach you to summon weapons too.
      ....
      What was my point again?

I think the dragon officially dies, when its spirit is either consumed by a dragon or dragon born, or when their mind (their soul) is broken. They are imortal, meaning they can't age, but what if they just lose the will to live? That's a death in of itself. A death of ego. And we all know dragons are full of themselves on scales, that far surpass human selfishness. Trapped, nowhere to go, chained, left to ponder the rest of eternity in darkneess, by yourself, could break anyone. It just took longer. And I'm sure that with each visit, even tho it brought Numinex some piece of mind, the thought that " oh shit, the strongest dragon around doesn't want, or rather, cant, beak me out" probably was the cherry. And I'm sure that Numbers slowly lost hope then went insane. And then died.
