  • Are you looking for a quick and simple explanation of what Sizewell C is and what it will mean for Britain? This video gives you just that.
In it, we look at the various aspects of Sizewell C, a new nuclear power station being proposed for Suffolk, and the different benefits it will bring, both locally and across the country.
We also explain how Sizewell C could help reduce the UK's carbon emissions, create thousands of job and apprenticeship opportunities at various stages of the project and generate enough low-carbon power for 6 million homes for 60 years.
If you would like to find out more about possible job opportunities, local impacts and investments, or anything else relating to the project, visit our website at www.sizewellc.com

I spent time as an apprentice. Last couple of years on pre production of control gear for Dungeness B. Turned out to be far from a long term job. 6,000 plus people there when I started my apprenticeship. Factory totally loses after the end of it. We’re did my qualifications take me. I became a petrol pump attendant.

That's why having a longer-term building program is a good idea. Keep the supply chains going, rather than stop-start.

No tsunami safe construction as shown. Furthermore, no new GEN.4 design as due to carbon industry any development of safer and btw. quite more efficient npps was „hintertrieben“.

Tsunami safe construction? This is Britain, not Japan. Gen 3 designs are almost invulnerable to tsunami conditions regardless, and gen 4 are not really attainable at this time. Gen 3 is the latest technology, gen 4 are largely encouraged by stipulations from the Chinese government, which probably hasn't even developed the technology. Until we are thorium-safe, there is no real reason to choose gen 4 over 3.

Double containment, H2 recombiners, core catcher, probably a load of mobile diesel powered pumping equipment inland.
I'm sure that the North Sea flood of 1953 is well within the minds of those designing and those assessing it.
