As a tri stringer main before this update it's actually wild how much better wellstring is. It can actually fight up close, it paints a ton, it does better aoe and chip, it does better one shots, it has the quick charge close range clustered arrows, it has crazy range for what it does, it works better with thermal ink. If tri stringer doesn't get major buffs it's officially 100% irrelevant instead of the 99% irrelevant it was before

As a fellow stringer player it feels like you can consistently play from whatever range because half charge gives you a consistent cluster of arrow charges on a focused spot. You can pepper long range with a full charge as well. It's genuinely the best Bow like ever
As a tri stringer main, the paint line buff it just got put it on the map tbh. Wellstring is good, but it ain’t blowing the og out of the water in terms of consistency
@@jacktheomnithere2127faster and bit more consistent 1 shots close to mid-range with a half charge, won't 1 shot at range but will multi-hit to kill with the explosions on a full or close to full charge if you jump and line it up. sometimes even gets 2 on 1 full charge if you catch people standing together. it's definitely not a backliner, it's 100% a midline weapon, it's great at fighting and supplying damage and paint even when it's not killing. it's very versatile from what i've experienced playing it so far (already at 4* grinding for 5 on the custom kit lmao)
its kinda funny how splatoon has been terrified of widening roller hitboxes by a millimeter and then this thing arrives and its hit box is. the whole stage.

All of the Deactivator Lobbies were everywhere. Blasters with Kraken. This season was insane and I'm so glad everyone is enjoying this moment of fun.

Fun fact. Ultra stamp swim speed takes your main weapon into account, and wellstring being heavy weight, means it has a worse hammer compared to the other hammer kits. Reminds me of c explo in s2

@fakesomefire Did that update fix over half of the game's stages and add a new type of XTRAWAVE to Salmon Run? No.
Only one stage and very little kits... Not sure how much the stage reworks count.

Fun fact: the mint decavitator can completely ignore the ultra stamp when dashing getting a guarantee kill
Don't even need to dash if you time it right, the hitbox is that big. Certified ultra stamp moment 💀

It's a Giant F***ING Katana. That is what I am calling the Decavitators from now on.
On the new bow, if you shoot halfway through your jump, they curve and give a really unique pattern😊
I've done it so much with the Grizzco bow in Salmon Run. Making them all land at different times for chain explosions is very good for locking down an area. I can 100% see this being an option with Wellstring now for bow players

Meanwhile in salmon run, wellstring is just a weaker verson of grizzco stringer that is much harder to use. You need to REALLY keep your range in mind when using it because otherwise, you'll miss most of your shots.
Wellstring V is like the Squeezer of the Stringer class, and more.

Wellstring V might be my favorite weapon they have ever added. I don't care if it has Ultra Stamp, it's so much fun!
The new stringer and splatana are what I expected stringers and splatanas to feel like at launch and they are FUN

Solo Que TC has devolved into "Which team has the most CRBs?" and I love it, CRB duels are so fun (for the CRBs, not anyone else)
Decavitator and Wellstring have been a blast too, they finally added perfectly balanced weapons straight out the bat! (Sad that Wellstring's second kit isn't as strong/fun as its first one)
Honestly I think v range was more annoying on tower control than crb because suction bomb is really good at forcing people off
I actually like Well's custom kit more than the vanilla one. Whose genius idea was it to give a bow, a hammer. At least give it chumps or something to make it a real painting menace for SZ/RM, while the custom kit be a TC/CB kit
@@jjQlLlLq I like Wavebreaker on it, despite how weak it is, but double-location kits (Nova being another bad example) have always annoyed me. Really, any double-down kit that isn't just straight up aggro or supportive playstyle feels weird, like I wouldn't have minded if it had Torp or Beakon or something more helpful, but with Point Sensor it just feels awkward.
As for the V kit, I feel like Stamp on it weirdly works, like not as well as it does on Wiper, but far better than the other backlines that have gotten it. Plus, autobomb is just better Point Sensor.

The only issue I have with Decavitator is that I always seem to immediately get shot out the dash slash when I use it :(

This is why Wavebreaker should be unbreakeable and even with that, It would still be really down in the Tier list.
I love Wave Breaker, is the only special I used with Zipcaster ans let me tell you is so shitty is not even worth to use anymore

I'm gonna be honest, I was getting pretty burnt out with Splatoon before. But this season completely rekindled my love for the game, the devs COOKED with all the new weapons

Well string has been the most annoying thing to face .
Constant Aoe ,shreds objects like crazy.
It can TIE with Sploosh in deleting in big shots in Salmon Run.
Has the most consistent one shot out of all the bows. Seriously do not fight it up close . The amount of times I’ve seen the wellstring bow just lightly tap their fire and one shotted someone is ridiculous.
Yesterday I had a bow that just finished climbing a wall and I went for the Decav one shot . I figured there’s no way they’ll be able to charge it in time . But they just tapped me and I got splatted .
Fellow Splatana users I recommend spacing accordingly.
Decavitator is by far the most fun ive had on a sword
The mint decavitator's charge slash feels like MHW's Iai Spirit Slash. Just avoiding hitboxes and appear right behind an opponent before they realize their dead.
Toothbrush makes dashing way more useful and fun, Splatoon has always been big on movement so leaning into that more seems like such a no-brainer in hindsight!
Someone please make an edit of Chara yeeting the wave breaker just like Darth Vader throws The Emperor down into the death star 🙏🌟

The moving platforms are funny. I've been able to sneak up on backlines by just hiding behind the pillars a few times, once they saw me but thought I couldn't get closer not realising I had gone behind the pole that was slowly moving towards them...
It's a super open map but the fact that it's so massive and you have those platforms for extra mobility and moving cover make it a lot more balanced than you'd think. I like it.

I wish decavitatpr had the same range as stamper horizontal. They aren’t that far off so it wouldn’t make a big difference, and because it’s shorter I have to relearn all muscle memory for it lmao.
I think we can all agree that the Decavitators ARE going to be nerfed on some level, and most likely sooner than later, if for no other reason than because its hit box is so insanely weird. I've gotten kills with these weapons that I don't even know how I made them. I was at the tail end of a match at Um'Ami Ruins, and did a charge slash on a guy where I slid PAST him...he was BEHIND me...and it STILL connected. HOW is that not completely insane? 😵😵💫

Chara, I think this game needs to add one more weapon: Shiva's Hand fan. How about double hand fan as twin swords? Shorter dash range but the hit box of Splat roller.

I think it would be cool if another season happened they added hybrid weapons in it next season I think a blaster stringer hybrid splatana duelies hybrid also another group of potential hybrids could be a splatana roller hybrid and a splatling brella hybrid could also be potential hybrids for a future season so like the first one is explosive shots so like when you launch the ink arrow it’s bigger than the normal ink arrow but the benefit is the more you charge the bigger the explosive raduis which can become pretty big splatana duelies is just two splatanas splatana roller is a giant heavy splatana and the splatling brella is a fan that shoot ink from its blades mimicking a shield but you can go through this shield but you do take damage from going through it and the shots from the weapon have the swirling effect of the trizooka so this weapons disadvantage is purely just insane levels of ink consumption at the end of the day

The two new weapons are the stupidest weapons I’ve seen since Splatoon 1 Luna Blaster.
The only thing i gotta question here is your build, which ive seen you bring up and alter here and there before this point:
3 ia subs… is that really necessary? Does that little reduce the jump rng to like zero, or is 2 really just not enough? As for 2 ss subs, that just seems like a first, like why? I’ll just take your word that 16 ap for qr is enough to make a good difference and it helps on this weapon, that i can just take your word on, but i cant help but see them other things as a bit off, considering the kit; my first thought was you’d want either sub throw up or at least sub saver, but then I remembered cb does give one of those, so fine, but no special up for kraken? Are ya really sure what ya have is needed, and why if so?

The well string suffers from spammability. I say have it consume a TON of ink if you go for max charges and make the charging take a bit longer. I'm all for making stringer's relevant but this was.. too much. With luck tough it'll get tweaked without grinding it into the dust because in spite of it's busted stat i don't want it gutted.

They should buff wave breaker by giving allies paint or hp when they get hit by a wave

I feel like they could make Wavebreaker invincible and it would still be an underwhelming special, why it's so easy to destroy is beyond me. It should have splash wall HP at the very least.

I dunno if its "broken" but it FEELS broken, or at least unfair.
Blasters can 1-shot you but its difficult to do so, the H3 can one shot you but its difficult to do so. This is the case with most weapons that can one shot, they all have a drawback.
But the decavitator seems to have absolutely no skill needed to land the 1-shot so even at (more so, really) casual ranks it stands out as too powerful. Very little skill is needed to land that 1-shot AND it doing 40/80 damage at range feels super unfair, most weapons deal like 20-30 a shot and yet this one is 40/80? Heck the range blaster deals a MAXIUMUM of 70 unless you direct hit. Is a swipe from an ink slap more powerful than a bazooka, really?
Doesn’t have enough tournament results to be considered broken
The drawback is that even with the dash the one shot range is much more limited than other weapons and the endlag is pretty punishable if you miss or they move out of the way. Outside of the one shot, the killtime is pretty slow for its range. Its strong but not broken.
I agree that the decavitator feels like it requires no skill. But, as I came to discover, it's got noticeably less range than Stamper (and by extension, other mid-long range weapons). Soo it just becomes a matter of beating decav with your weapon's strengths (aka skill issue... That I haven't gotten over either)
Think of it like a clash blaster, that's easy to pick up, use, and is common at lower ranks, but gets punished once people learn how to fight and deal with it properly

My thoughts on the new map:
Not one of the best maps in the franchise, but definitely one of the most fun
Needs more inkable walls
The gimmick is neat but can be annoying at times
Clams and tower are amazing
Zones is good
Rainmaker is fucking awful and i love it
Probably my favorite s3 map even though objectively romen is better
I wish tower control removed the moving platforms and turned the tower into one thatd be neat

i honestly didnt believe in decavitator as a main weapon. i thought it was another Vwiper carried by bomb moment so i played mint. after picking up charcoal once i 4-starred mint, i can see this main weapon is kinda crazy, top 15 main weapon at least

Unfortunately the CRB is ineffective because EVERYONE is using the wellstring.
definitely the best set of weapons in any season, they are so fun to play!
