This was an L the minute the pairings came out last Sunday. JMU IS EFFING GOOD. Badgers no heart no hustle no execution. Deplorable performance. There has to be a better coach out there

I had James Madison as the #12 seed I picked in most of my brackets out of the 12-5 upsets. This year’s tournament we’ve had every single double digit seed except a 15 and a 16 win a game with two of them as 11’s so it was pretty spread out, but Yale surprised me the most.
Yea spread out this year it would of been perfect if at least a 15 seed won last two tourneys have been amazing I love the lower seeds going far we had no one seed get to the final four last year
@@Antbeast23 I was cheering for Western Kentucky to pull it off against Marquette, which was 55-55 but then Marquette pulled away in the final 4 minutes. The scoreboard does not tell the story of the game at all, but as a consolation prize we had two 12 seeds in James Madison and Grand Canyon making it through.
I bet one year we will have a tournament like that where seeds 10-16 all wins a game in the same year. It was actually pretty close to happening in 2023, there just wasn’t a 12 and a 14 that won that year.

JMU beat Michigan St earlier this yr and at one point was ranked 22 in the country so it doesn’t surprise me they beat Wisconsin nor will it surprise me when they beat Duke

@@Ben89420 I agree. The Packers are a million miles away from the Superbowl. Especially since they let 70% of their team go by just cutting Aaron Jones. I hope whoever did that is fired at the end of this season maybe even halfway through it.

When Wisconsin coach Greg Gard was interviewed during the first half he said he needed to do a better job talking to the officials instead of making adjustments. Why, because it was obvious that James Madison's strategy was to play a helter skelter style of defense that was rewarded by the officials allowing too much physical contact.
If seeding wasn't so biased for the Power Conferences, JMU would've easily been an 9 seed.
James Madisons rise in both football and basketball need to be studied. Insane story for them.
I don’t remember a time where a program has risen in two sports at the same time like this. Florida in the 2000s was already good in both basketball and football which in 2006 both their teams won it all the same year. Besides that, this is the closest success story out of anybody since then.

JMU sports as a whole have evolved quickly since moving up to what used to be called division I-A. The football team was dominant at the lower level and has held their own as well. This is a small school in the Shenandoah Valley. New facilities and mountains are the backdrop for this on the rise program. Wouldn't be surprised if they are the third Cinderella to make a Final Four run. Remember VCU and George Mason's runs. Virginia schools can hoop. Hope UVA can capture their magic again soon.
Our son graduated from JMU in 2019. Absolutely beautiful campus and Valley area, just gorgeous. And their sports programs are legit. Football, basketball, women's softball are all well ran.
I wouldn't call JMU a small school by any means. An enrollment of over 20k is pretty far from being small. Other than that, yes it is a phenomenal place to be!

Wisconsin is a young team, picked to be 7th or 8th in the BT this year, and they will improve.
Having said that, they did look a bit lackadaisical at times (ball handling and defense). I think a Bobby Knight would have slapped a few guys around.
But players are different today. Get too tough with them and they can easily transfer.
Wisconsin missed a lot of layups and "bunnies".

Wisconsin BB has gone the way of FB under Chryst. Just inexplicable lapses. Not sure how you go from the performance in the B1G tourney to looking like it’s the first time they all played together on the same team. This happens too often with WI sports. Something has to change.

What a ride this year for the Dukes. This is the biggest win in program history...at least unless they win Sunday. Their best prior March Madness moment was pushing the 1982 eventual national champion North Carolina team--yeah, Worthy, Perkins, and some guy named Jordan--to the limit before losing in the second round 52-50. (JMU beat Ohio State in the first round to get there, so keep matching us up against the Big Ten in the tournament please!)
Can't forget about that tight game in that 1982 NCAA bracket, of course that was the first year the TV rights to the weekend-only tournament games (and the entire final four) were owned by CBS after a dozen or more years of the final fours along with most of those regional finals (or the elite eight) games being shown by NBC, then in addition the 1982 game was a home state advantage game for the Tar Heels played in Charlotte at the pre-1988 NBA expansion team (Hornets) original Charlotte Coliseum, before the new place that came to be known as "the (bee) Hive" was built, then after the Hornets left for New Orleans in 2002, the even newer place that was first named the Time Warner Arena was built and among other events that have since taken place in T.W. were both the Democrat election convention in 2012 and the scaled back during the 2020 virus-Republican convention, with rescheduled convention events moved to a place in Florida with most of the convention speeches being given at the Washington, D.C. Mellon Auditorium hall or the White House, sorry for including all these useless facts about the different arenas in Charlotte (lol).

I have to give James Madison credit where it's due. They played a very solid game all the way around. Wisconsin seemed to be a step behind the whole game. When you have that many sloppy turnovers and missed layups, that'll lose you a lot if games.
To think if JMU hadn't won the Sun Belt, they'd have been watching the tournament from home. Fortunately the Dukes removed any doubt, and the right Sun Belt team is dancing. These Dukes are GOOD! Duke looks past these guys at their own peril💪

How can a 31-3 team be a 12 seed? Answer: the selection committee is biased. Just look at the SEC with 8 teams in, and proving that was completely undeserved with all of their high seed losses(course the selection chairman is the SEC athletics director). James Madison should have been the 5 seed! It's a good thing the committee is forced to take 1 team from each conference regardless of the bias in the room.
After JMU's 2d round beatdown it goes to show you that the committee was pretty well right.

Surprised that Big Ten teams are 4-2 so far....after this Sunday, I only expect one Big Ten team to advance to the sweet sixteen. Year in and out, the Big Ten conference is easily the most overrated conference in the world.
