    Banjo, for those worried about getting the shit shocked out of them. Just get the 3 prong euro connecter and run a grounding wire to any part of the base. Everyone is worried about it being metal, not sure how they made it through the 70s and 80s then.. LOL

      Nathan Dean The rarity of an item has more value than the cost of its individual components. can you name any "one of a kind" item that is made up of components not found anywhere in the universe? you should try something positive instead in the future. While he has a crazy ass mind it's something to be admired I love it.

    I was walking around our local flea market, and picked up what I guess is 25lbs (11KG) of all types of fittings, both brass and steel all for $15. Now I have some inspiration to make a lamp.

    At one time we could find high quality brass fittings in the US like the one's you use. Now they are very rough and dull which requires that each fitting be buffed off to brighten them for projects like this. Nice work.

I used to play with this type of creation but never to this extant of interfacing of multiple ideas.....love it. love it. grabbed my attention big time as I am the type to jump ahead 20 seconds at a time.. nope not once..haha

    You could totally up your game by cutting a co-sink in a piece of stained wood, and attaching the feet of into them. Maybe drive some short nails into the board. Then it would make the piece look like it was routed through the building by going through whatever it is sitting on.

  • @andrewwilson8317
    @andrewwilson8317 Před 7 lety

    As a caution I would advise taking a bit of time to de-burr the inside of the fittings before using if you want to run power through them. Because they are not designed to have cable inside them it is not unusual to find sharp edges and burrs in the fittings. You don't want sharp edges rubbing on power cables!

They all iron and steel- copper and brass bandits got in first!- with just the right amount of faded and damaged paint and rust. Going to have a go at making a lamp, using yours as inspiration!

    This a the coolest Steampunk lamp I have seen made....nice work. It did seem that you could have extended your base a few inches as it seemed narrow for the size of lamp....but what do I know. :-)
