  • the bridge is a controller only emulator, so it does not tell the ps3 its a guitar. That is its own USB device. So we can only play in controller mode. And this is not the same IMO, as there is no strum. But to make this work the guitar button had to be both frets and ps3 buttons, so when strumming its a fret, thus to play you will need to use the strum. It is a bit complicated, so listen to the video.
NOTE: after a bit more research the only ps3 gh games that can be played with controller is GH3 and GHA. So the other will no be possible without USB guitar emulation. To do this the Bridge woudl need its own ps3 Guitar firmware. May be possible, but will cost a bit of $$$ and time to achieve.

Timing is very important in this game. It's awesome there isn't significant lag :)
That's really cool you got these guitars working! Looking forward to any follow-up videos using them :)

That is a valid point, I looked in to that and here is why it works.
Lag, is like cause and effect. You hit the nail, and see it from a mile way, you see lag
Sync, When two thing poll and are off, Put two kids on their own swings start one a second after the other. They are not in sync
Most all consoles, are in perfect sync, and most TVs have > 60 FPS. This means the lag is always 16.66~ and the polling and video are always in sync.
So when the game draws the video it gets the current status of the controller. Then it waits 16.6 ms . So Lag is actually not possible here unless the poll is complete skipped. In that case you get 16ms lag. But skipping is nearly %100 unlikely.
to put this in story form
game reads status of buttons -> we have 16.6 ms to play now, -> talk to GPA -> talk to controller -> get data to bridge -> set the status buffer. -> now wait out the rest of the time the game sits there. (repeat)
