In my opinion, the original mix is superior to this mishmash. Steve McQueen is a brilliant LP and it sounds a lot better than the remastered version on compact disc.
If you haven't got this album on vinyl, try to get it as soon as possible. It's worth every $, £ or € that you spend. Vinyl rules!
In english music apart from a very few of the classical composers there is no Genius as a Genius like Paddy McAloon!
The so called rock'n'roll guys from the english heritage come a long distance behind Paddy. Kinks, Beatles, R. Stones blah, blah, blah..., all of them.

Mmmm Don't know who did the remix but can't say I like it. I'm a lover of remixes and a lover of this song and album, and as a musician I find remixes are a wonderful opportunity for artists to bring out and elaborate on elements of a song, be it harmony, melody or whatever which are special yet are often mixed into the background on the standard mix. But I must say they, or
whoever, didn't manage to bring out many of the many interesting and unusual facets of this otherwise excellent song. In fact their are moments that appear almost cringy. Shame
hmmm I wonder... might try a mashup of this with some actual Faron Young in same key, might get interesting
