East Africans are not typically like the West Africans that most of you the diasporans understand as "the real Africa', whatever that means. So we meet quite a few of the diasporans who get to Nairobi and get permanently irritated. Visit first, and see if it slaps right. See if you can stand our many bad habits too. If you can forgive that too, make the leap.

Havent been to Kenya yet but i have a bunch of Kenyan friends. i can say that Kenyans are probably the most friendly Africans. They are not stuck up at all, and thats the Men and women , they will come up to you and start a conversation, i like that about them, i will definitely check out ken town soon.

Skynest Residences is very high end, I'm not surprised by the cost. We have a few of these "Residences" spread around Nairobi like around Riverside Drive and so on. They specialise on luxury, quite pricey but you get what you pay for 😍

Terrific video. It's deeply appreciated how you've highlighted Nairobi so positively. I relocated to the U.S. two dozen years ago when I was still in my teens, and I was surprised by the preconceived notions about Africa here. Over time, I've become weary of constantly explaining or justifying my homeland. Hence, my advice has always been simple: experience Kenya firsthand.
I first discovered Troy when Brittney Caldwell interviewed him a year ago (Hottest Party Promoter in Nairobi? ). They had a great discussion. This was when she was still in Nairobi (she's now in Nigeria). I could tell that Troy was really well connected in Kenya. I'm glad Auston has met him. I mentioned the Alchemist (cool bar) and Mercado (Mexican restaurant) to Auston in an earlier video. It was interesting to hear Troy recommend them as well. At the Alchemist there's Mama Rocks Gourmet Burgers. The two Black women who run the burger joint are worth a visit by themselves. A lot of viewers would find them very interesting. As a compliment to Troy's basic feeling about Kenya, I would highly recommend the video that Sabbatical did in Kenya when he was leaving the country (The Reason That I Hate Kenya). Troy is an African American; Sabbatical is a White American (he has an excellent command of Swahili). Both seem to view Kenya in roughly the same way. I would also recommend the video that J&K Lovett did 5 years ago (Is Nairobi, Kenya Dangerous?). By the way, I have some cousins who look just like Troy. It's very interesting. 😀 Personally, I think that Troy, Brittney and Auston can together create a very interesting business in Nairobi, given their respective people skills. Brittney could do it as a remote job from Nigeria. I'm thinking in terms of some kind of company geared toward African Americans who are interested in checking out Kenya. I live in Westlands. Lovely place. You can walk everywhere. For $1,800 a month you can get a mansion on your own acre in Karen. For $500 a month you can get a 3br apartment in Westlands. The accommodation is empty and unfurnished and you can't rent it for less than a year. You'll also need a deposit equal to 2 months rent.

Every time I look at Nairobi it's the trees that do it for me. They find a way to build high rises and still keep the trees and greenery.

I first discovered Troy when Brittney Caldwell interviewed him a year ago (Hottest Party Promoter in Nairobi? ). They had a great discussion. This was when she was still in Nairobi (she's now in Nigeria). I could tell that Troy was really well connected in Kenya. I'm glad Auston has met him. I mentioned the Alchemist (cool bar) and Mercado (Mexican restaurant) to Auston in an earlier video. It was interesting to hear Troy recommend them as well. At the Alchemist there's Mama Rocks Gourmet Burgers. The two Black women who run the burger joint are worth a visit by themselves. A lot of viewers would find them very interesting. As a compliment to Troy's basic feeling about Kenya, I would highly recommend the video that Sabbatical did in Kenya when he was leaving the country (The Reason That I Hate Kenya). Troy is an African American; Sabbatical is a White American (he has an excellent command of Swahili). Both seem to view Kenya in roughly the same way. I would also recommend the video that J&K Lovett did 5 years ago (Is Nairobi, Kenya Dangerous?). By the way, I have some cousins who look just like Troy. It's very interesting. 😀 Personally, I think that Troy, Brittney and Auston can together create a very interesting business in Nairobi, given their respective people skills. Brittney could do it as a remote job from Nigeria. I'm thinking in terms of some kind of company geared toward African Americans who are interested in checking out Kenya. I know this sounds vague but I'm just thinking out loud. Don't mind me. There's nothing wrong with wishful thinking. 😀
