- I recently returned to Something Fishy, a great fish store in Cleveland, Ohio with a huge african cichlid breeding operation in the basement. The owner, Dave Hale, walked me around and talked about all of his fish and what has changed since last year. If you like frontosa you don't want to miss it!

Couldnt quite understand you. Really interested to know what the big silver fish at 22:57 is. I have two of them the same size and believe you called them something different to what I know them by. Thanks
Jake Hussey . I think.you would know if you had this fish. The black Diamond rhom piranha and only one in a tank. These are also very expensive and not easy to get.
Maybe you have the common pacu which most should not own due to they grow fast into a 3ft fish.
Its not a Pacu. I always thought it was a Silver Dollar but doesnt not look very much like other Silver Dollars ive had previously or dollars ive seen on the internet. Thanks for the information, I shall look into getting the species identified more.

Those spotted Frontosa are Black Widow Frontosas. It's an Aquarium Strain developed in the Czech Republic. Very cool fish & pretty hard to get. Another Aquarium Strain Frontosa are the Red Frontosa said to be developed in Taiwan. Its more of a Chocolate Copper Frontosa. The quality of Red Frontosas seems to be getting better & better as selective line breeding goes on. I believe the Black Widow & the Red Frontosa are the only Aquarium Strain Frontosas? Always enjoy the tours through Dave's store & hatchery. To any one who doesn't know Dave is a wealth of ciclid knowledge.

I really like the fact he emphised the 125 tank size
they also keep some of the best and rare south and central American cichlids in the Cleveland area. Their water quality is A-1 and fish are healthy.

Yes or more depending on type of mbuna. Look at saulosi. Great fish. Or many types of labidochromis species.

Can anyone recommend a species of Pleco that can be kept in a 15 gallon with some community fish. I have seen some of fish stores but I'm not sure how big they will get. I would rather just get one or two but if I need to get a group I'll do that as long as they have enough space on my tank. I have plants and wood and rock for them to hide under I just don't want to get one that them grows to like 10 inches and is stuck in a tiny tank. If anyone could help that would be great.
