One day I'll visit Chicago mainly to see where all these filming takes place and hopefully meet the cast. My favorite tv show!!
Chicago is a great place. I live in southern Wisconsin so Chicago is not very far from me.
That's probably almost everybody's dream. Hopefully, your dream will come true.🥰
I live like right next to Chicago
Hopefully me too
Have you done that yet
In the background one can hear or even listen to two Polish mums explaining their children to watch patiently the whole process of making the episode. So nice :)

Love the fact that they used the retired cfd rigs.the Cast as well as the Rigs are totally Awesome.Love this show.
WOW that was really Joe driving. Didn't know they actually drive
Im a Chiccago Firefighter. Ive worked as an extra on the show Joe Minoso (Cruz) does really drive the truck. A real CFD firefighter drives the Squad while the rest of the squad crew are all actors. The Squad driver gets a speaking line here and there too! Ive had fires with him by the way! :) And the entire crew of Engine #51 are all real CFD firefighters. Jut in the event something goes wrong! :) That's why you don't see much of them (51) in the show! :)
JC Medina Thanks for the insight buddy, really appreciate
JC Medina
They should show more Engine, even though they are real firefighters. They have shown alot more of Tony (drives Squad) than last season.
I think he has a CDl so he can
+firefighterengine75 You need a CDL to drive CFD rigs? Here all you need is EVOC
I have 3 favorite shows on TV and this is one of them! LOVE the cast, especially Matt and the chief. The people that live in Chicago are very lucky if they happen to see them filming. I certainly would watch if I had the chance.
I love Chicago fire I love how they were really driving and making these scenes come to life this was so Awesome to watch 👏🏾
I'm honestly amazed to see that they let the actors drive the rigs. I know that was a problem when they did Emergency! in the 70s. They had to find a LACoFD member who was also an actor to drive the engine.
The guy that drives Squad 3 is an actual Chicago Firefighter, and actually uses his real name on the show.
The LACoFD didn't want their equipment damaged by an amateur plus liability concerns. Things change when Ward LaFrance donated Engine 51 to Universal Studio because it belong to the studio, not the county.
Same thing in Rescue Me. They had to hire a FDNY chauffeur to operate the apparatus. And he was credited.
All the actors did firefighter training, I presume that covers driving too, if so they're perfectly qualified...
@@jodieleishman1391 and Squad 3 also a legit spare, as it's Spare Squad 2 (that and 2A would go together) alongside Ladder 81 (that's Spare Ladder 57...)
Otis has to come back to life somehow now! 😢😭
Getting to shake Herman’s hand bust be a honor I know we love all the cast but still!! LT Herman is the best.
(My opinion)
Yep. I have a crush on him.
Eu amo está série não perco nem um capítulo sou totalmente apaixonada por todos, moro aqui em São Paulo

Those guys are from Chicago fire! 😱😱 I love those actors
"Russian arm"
Me: Immediately thinks about Otis 😏
Also me: Remembers he's dead ☹️😞
it really sucks he died, he was my favorite character from the show
I am a Chicago fire fan. I don't watch many fire shows because they are usually horrible, however, I do enjoy this one. Even the guys at my house watch it.
Pa300? How do the change the siren and horn in the movie
Really I think this show is Bull it’s all fake and personally I can tell what house are you at? I’m an Co84
@@aidansmith5031 normally a prerecorded PA300, Q2B or a PA20 Interceptor sound from the 80s would be used during post production. After all, it's a written rule in Hollywood, that any emergency vehicle that's being filmed on the set, is nor allowed to use any sirens, so there's no panic that there's an actual, unscripted incident.
Season 4 and truck 81 is still the best. I can watch those guys all day.
real cool to see the behind the scenes action
i love this show!😀
I love you guys you guys is a real good actor in that show with the firemen fire trucks love always Julie
❤️🚍🙏Love you
This is my favorite show I watch it every Wednesday and I’m from Chicago great video
Awesome! Thank you!
Cruz still at truck. This was before he made it to squad.
I forgot he was on truck...
ilove this show
NBC actually owns Truck 81 (Shop number FDE269. Ex truck 57). NBC saved E269 from being scrapped cause it was being sold online on auction after the city retired it. I'll always remember in previous seasons they would flip flop Ladder trucks. Go from E269 to a different rig that had rust but "81" slapped over the shop number. chicagoareafire.com/blog/tag/fire-trucks-used-for-tv-show/ NBC bought and saved E269 instead of flip flopping trucks. I know they used a few spare rigs after 81 was "Killed off" in the accident episode.
I know they bought an older 80s Seagrave Ladder to take the hit that came to 81. However, the city still owns 3, since it's Spare Squad 2.
@@shaneharrisnj3484 I know. I remember that episode. "Just drive the truck". They did flip flop trucks to be "Truck 81". I remember one truck play 81 had its shop number with "81" slapped over it.
@@goodbyeseeyalater surprisingly, this Seagrave is still doing some spare response activities in Chicago, as Truck 6.
Thank you for posting this.
favorite show i like they tie in with Chicago police an Chicago med
AMO CHICAGO E NOVA YORK, onde é comum presenciar - se várias filmagens destes FILMES que tanto curto e adoro

They're Amazing! Love the show.
Chicago Fire is the best ......... i Love all of them...Cherrs from me and my vollounteer Fire brigade
Whoever put this cast together did an excellent job. They all mesh and enhance each other. Chicago Fire is on all day long, every Tuesday, on ION TV.
Omg I would of love to have my picture taken with Severide!! I love the show!!
Me too! I’m Lysian and big fan of the show! Want to be a firefighter when I grow up and be successful as a firefighter and be rich.
@@lysianfresse7261 - They are NOT rich. Firefighters are underpaid for all they do.
love this show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love u all
9:45, it's interesting how they are using external light sources for the cabin scene. Usually they use CCFL fluorescent tubes mounted on the dashboard and where the sun visor is to light up actor's faces at night in vehicle scenes. I guess they need the external light source because it's daylight outside.
I love Charlie Barnett he's one of my favorites on Chicago Fire.
I saw the cast list in the description and saw shays name and teared up a bit
I love Chicago Fire I mainly love Kelly Severide the most if I got his name wrong plz correct me.. 👍👍❤️❤️
I thought it was real. I guess it's fake
You guys are good firefighter
Engine 51 Truck 81, Squad 3 Battalion 25 Ambulance 61 mostly uses a real Chicago Fire Department Fire Truck And Ambulance To The Show.

It was originally suppose to be in philadelphia but philadelphia declined it
Squad 3 is an HME
Can anyone tell me which season and which episode are they filming?
They look so young
Yes...they ARE hard to drive. Especially aerials. Joe Fire Truck , Miami. The Fabulous Musical Party Fire Truck. Fire Truck Entertainment, Co. .
There not hard to drive... I've drove one....
I agree engines are not hard to drive but operated safely is a different story
I came there! :)

Chicago Fire
ONE LONE bum who dislike this?????????
WHO are you???????
Is ladder 6 from the tv show
Wait so the people on the show aren't real
WOW!!!
Wht episode is this
Are the trucks in use with the fire dept still ? as they look old to me we have the new Volvo FL here in the North West of the UK also what if the ford ambulance gets a call i.e they need it ? or is it were they just use them for a few weeks of filming ??
Truck Talk Videos all the trucks are either owned by the show or loaned out by the city of Chicago during the production season. Currently only the rig used for truck 81 and the ambulance are owned by the city and both are spares
❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤❤❤❤❤
Can anybody tell me what kind of back up alarm that is at 5:50?
Griffin Bussian
Griffin Bussian
Nobody real knows but that alarm was common on CFDs fleet in the 1900s. Now only most reserve trucks have it.
With Truck 6 before the end
Hopefully they get updated appliances for the 3rd season. I'm a firie in Australia and reckon the yanks sure know how to build a firetruck and its a shame they are using these tired old girls with rusted guards and dull paint. My opinion anyway
Thanks for the shout-out from Australia.
The trucks are actual working surplus CFD apparatus and are sometimes spotted rotated into duty assignments between seasonal filming schedules.
Thanks for the info! We have a similiar system, the trucks are known as SEV's (service exchange vehicles). I wish we had the population to support custom built appliances, but the Merc's and Isuzu's will have to do :)
The Video Catalyst Project So that's why the chief drives around in a '98 Explorer. Of course, Milwaukee Fire Dept just auctioned off some Crown Vics and Chev Caprices, circa 1993 or '94
New is E X P E N S I V E and budget breaking. Real fire trucks would have to leave when a real fire breaks out. Sooo...
I never said for them to get "new" appliances. But surely a small slice of the budget could be used to at least cut and polish the trucks, or wash them. Each episode they are generally filthy and in my experience actual working appliances are cleaned regularly and are pride of the station.
Odis dose
6:41 pa300 no wonder Chicago fire didin’t use them
is Chicago PD
I wants to be a fierman in the gawlloay township in the nj
No more Otis. 😢
what happen?
Nothing it's show making
They should have replaced the old incandesent emergency lighting with LEDs, rather than poorly placing tiny LEDs underneath the regular emergency lights. It's less realistic.
actually real CFD trucks ran those lights like that.
+ButtThuck Those are CFD's reserve units. They can still be used now if needed.
Green lights on the engine and on chief's car? What is this good for? Just curious...
The Wigwam That is a very good question. The green lights designate the officers on-scene. In this case, the Lieutenant assigned to the engine and the Chief. Like the red and green lights, which indicate which direction the apparatus is facing, these can be spotted in low visibility in smoky streets
@@dogstar7 it hails from the days when a lot of FFs came from a nautical background and as you stated stated the lights give an indication of the way the apparatus is facing, red light on extreme left ( portside) green light on extreme right ( starboard side) just like a boat or ship. Thats the way it was explained to me. Not all departments have this. I know the UK departments still have lots of terms related to the Navy, like Engine Room, Watchroom, Galley( cookhouse) Six Bells, Stand down, lines( ropes) etc.
I remember when odis was alive
What was Truck 81's siren
A Newer PA300. Some of the other 90s Seagrave trucks feature a Motorola Spectra.
Just curious, on the camera vehicle, why did they have to make everything on the vehicle the same color as the body of it, I mean I saw how they had to completely cover the headlights and also the taillights and they also had to dress the tires the same way also........
so it will be easy to edit out
no reflections/solid object
Glare prevention to keep light reflecting off chrome etc. .
Wait are they actually real firefighters or just on the show
Actors, though Tony is a firefighter in real life and plays himself in the show.. In Chicago Fire and Chicago PD, all the firefighter and police officer extras are played by real life firefighters and cops. And the main cast go through a lot of training so they're realistic
it did not look like a chicago engine and it was not engine 18
lol.... i thought literally chicago fire in action.. they extinguish the fire and etc. but they have camera i get the point this is taping in "Chicago Fire" in usa series ... SORRY IM NOT AMERICAN HHAHAAH
Actually, that is a great concept for a reality-TV show. You may or may not be aware of of an American series called COPS that featured ride-along video of police in action. With mounted 4K cameras it would be interesting, I'm sure, to see actual footage of firefighters working structure fire from the inside, doing rescues, etc. Just seeing the popularity of this scripted dramatic action series, the potential audience would be tremendous. Thanks for the comment.
@@dogstar7 Problem is inside a real fire you can't see shit
Chicargo fire is the best make more please xx
It's still on TV. The new season starts this Fall.
Firehouse 51 is home to engine 18
cool😁😂😁😂
yall do realize these fire fighting shows are nothing like real life. especially chicago fire and 9-1-1
They have advisors on the show to make it as realistic as possible.
RIP FDE269 aka Truck 81. They swapped Ladder trucks in a recent episode. I dont know the fate of FDE269. Hopefully not scrapped.
Its because the engine blew out
@@leonherrmann8464 for real? Source?
