    One thing to note: Run Like Heller pointed out that the 26 was very noisy on footfall compared to the 25 - perhaps because of the more deeply channeled decoupled groove. She played the audio and it sounded like an Alphafly 1!

    Interesting. I just got the 25 and my two main complaints are the tapered toe box and the excessive heel flare. For me the 26 may be the answer...when it's discounted.

      try new balance 1080. the v12s are on sale for the same as the nimbus 25. the fit is much better everywhere minus the heel but it's not that bad. I had to go 4E in the nimbus 25.

    For some reason I found this shoe more stable that the kayano. I’ve been diagnosed as needing stability but in the kayano my forefoot rolls in more than the nimbus. Nimbus is the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn

    I absolutely love version 26! I know they're similar, but the difference in the geometry on the heel makes a world of a difference for me. In the 25, the heel transition was a little sloppy and it would put a lot of pressure on my knees. If anyone else has had a similar experience, the 26 might work for you. It's my favorite max cushion shoe.

    Disappointed with 26...the first few steps i can already tell the same cushioning i had come to rely on, on the 25 was not there. If you are an older regular runner like me and depend on the cushioning to prevent injuries then 25 hands down has a MUCH BETTER cushioning setup.

    v26 doesn't really seem like an upgrade; just a slight adjustment. I have 300+ miles on V25 but I likely won't get it to 500 miles, which I usually do, because it's just too heavy to go long in. Now they added 1/2 oz.

    What is the difference between the Gel Nimbus 26 and the Nimbus 26 TR version? I want to buy shoes that are stable for walking because right now I have ASICS Cumulus shoes that I bought in 2020, and they feel unstable when I walk in them.

    • @DoctorsofRunning
      @DoctorsofRunning  Před 20 dny +1

      It should just be the outsole difference. A little more grip underfoot for trail walking. Both shoes would be fine, just depends if you want to lightly hike or run on clear trails.

      @feedmylenses7239 Před 20 dny

      @@DoctorsofRunning i read that the outsole is a little more rigid. Is that true? And if it is.. me as a walker, more than a runner, am going to feel less absorption from it? Less confort? I am a traveler, so I need a shoe that provides good fit, confort and less damage at the end of 15 miles a day 🙂 thank you so much in advance Matt. Did you get that PHD?

      @@feedmylenses7239 PhD is completed! (Dissertation accepted 8/12, same day as my daughter’s 1 year birthday!).
      The nimbus is also great walking shoe. Highly cushioned but I would not call it rigid. The TR version, given the outsole is made to handle more trail, will be a bit more rigid. If you like that, it may create a bit more inherent stability for both walking and running. Additionally, it will probably be more durable! I don’t think it will impact the cushioning level as a walker since you are less likely to generate the forces that will completely compress the midsole. Running may make the sole feel slightly more rigid.

      With the addition of rubber all the way from the heel towards the forefoot area in the outside should make the feeling of running better for me. The 25th, the lack of rubber in the area where I hit the ground when I supinate was sometimes a bit awkward. Now this extra rubber will help the heel to toe transition for me. Not to mention the redesign of the heel cup area that should also raise the stability. I was going to get the Nova Blast 4 ,but I will wait and will get the Gel-Nimbus 26 instead.
