Cove Rangers v Wick Academy

Wick Academy made the long trip to face Cove Rangers in this league encounter. Although Cove Rangers dominated the opening quarter, Stevie Cunningham drilled home the opening goal for Wick Academy after half an hour played. Thirty five minutes later Davie Allan had Sandy Wood in the Cove Rangers goal rooted to the spot with a sublime goal worthy to win any game. Gary Weir scored Wick Academy's third goal to secure the three points by side-stepping the Cove defence before shooting low past the goal-keeper.
Cove Rangers did score in the 94th minute with Jonny Smith meeting substitute Barrie Stephen's cross but it was too late to salvage anything from this game.
