In this Kashmir Travel Guide I have shared top things to do in Kashmir, outfits that I wore in KASHMIR, best places to visit, foods to try, budget tips & stay, from where to shop and more like a detailed information on Kashmir itinerary that you should know before you reach there. I have just visited it and still want to go back to Kashmir, especially Pahalgam. I always wondered if Kashmir was over rated. But let me tell you Kashmir is Under Rated !!! And for those asking me if it's safe? Yes I felt very safe there!
Summed up some memorable ones-
1. The snow capped mountains while having the shikara ride in Dal lake! It's so dreamy to watch the sun go down sitting in the shikara and sipping hot kahwa.
2. Watching purple flowers bloom all around during springs. If you visit Kashmir around March and April you will witness these beautiful flowers all around!
3. Visiting Hari Parbat to watch the beautiful city view of Srinagar from a top, was wonderful.
4. Gandola ride to reach to witness the outstandnig beauty of Gulmarg.
5. Floating market in Dal Lake: you will see a number on things people do on the dal lake from enjoying kababs to smoking hookas! Name things you have it all here..
6.Houseboat: It's a luxurious experience staying in these houseboats. Owners have to inherit it and which cannot be bought.
7. 3 Amazing Mughal Gardens and other gardens like Nishat Bagh, Pari Mahal are some examples of Islamic architecture and patronage of art during the reign of the then Mughals.
8. Sonamarg has ancient importance because it was a gateway on the ancient Silk Road that connects Kashmir with China. Sonamarg is a valley covered in white gold thereby living up to its name.
9. To me, the beautiful valleys (Aru, Betaab, Chandanwadi & Baisaran), picturesque mountains, natural beauty, apple orchards of Pahalgam (valley of shepherd) were one the most amazing things which compel me to visit Kashmir once more in this tiny lifetime.
