    I learned to hand embroider when I was about ten years old. I began cross stitching in my twenties. I have always struggled to make perfect French knots. I am now 68 years old - I found your video and following your easy instructions, I can now make the most beautiful, perfect, French Knots!!!! I am so excited! Thank you!!

    I can remember when my mom taught us girls to embroidery and I enjoyed it by hand, I had a shirt that I embroiled and all my friends asked me where I got my shorts and I said I had done all the artwork myself they would say I wish I knew how I said it's simple and fun. The thing is I have forgotten how to use all the types of stitching so, I am excited to learn how I'm sure it will come back and it's all done by hand which to me it's more meaningful for the person who you are giving it to.

      Yes! You can draw something, or I know that some people like to use free coloring pages they find online. Have fun!

    How do you make your stitches even? Is there a certain distance measurement you recommend ? I’m having trouble with that. Thanks!!

    • @CutesyCrafts
      @CutesyCrafts  Před 11 měsíci +2

      Even stitches just come with practice. I've also seen people draw a small line with a pen on their finger to hold up to their work as they stitch. That might help. There is no perfect length, just depends on what look you are going for. I change the length of my stitches to make them shorter when on curves, so they don't all need to be the same length anyway.

    9:50 so you don't tie a knot to keep the needle in place without it coming off the thread? If that makes sense

    • @CutesyCrafts
      @CutesyCrafts  Před 11 měsíci +2

      You only tie a knot at the end of the long part. If you tied a knot by the needle, then your needle wouldn't get through the fabric. The needle should stay on as long as you have a long enough tail.

    Hi, I'm going to try to do embroidery on a hoodie and was wondering if there's any tips for that or if it would even work.

    • @CutesyCrafts
      @CutesyCrafts  Před 6 měsíci +2

      Yes, it should work. Check out my blog post on how to embroider a t-shirt. cutesycrafts.com/2021/12/how-to-embroider-a-t-shirt-by-hand.html It should be similar with the stretchy hoodie fabric.

    Im sorry I don't understand, why wya beginner want to buy more expensive than expensive needles. Also I would think that derft needles are less expensive than the tulip needles.
