From 1966: Depatie-Freleng's the Brothers Matzoriley in "Heau Beau Jest", along with the Super 6 opening and closing (with the catchy tune by Gary Lewis) and two Super 6 interstitials.
I haven't seen this since it first aired. As a child, I didn't realize that the "Bolt who is a nut" has a voice that was obviously based on Jimmy Stewart's.
I knew it.....Paul Frees was also the voice of Boris Badneov from Bullwinkle and Daws Butler, who was known to audiences as the voice of Yogi Bear and other classic Hanna-Barbera characters. Both were stockplayers for Depatie-Freleng. This series used the musical talents of William Lava.
thanks so much for posting. i've carried the theme song in my head for 40-some years without knowing more than the title. thanks for filling in the words -- and the great info behind the show. gary lewis. so obvious, but it never occurred to me.
Yep. I agree with you! Voice over actors get very little attention. For m,e, it was the shows--but it was those great voices behind the shows. Free, Blanc, Butler, Foray, Knight, Harrington, etc.
Thanks, toontracker, for a real memory jolt. As a child, I watched Super 6 on Saturday mornings. Since then, I had the vaguest memory of the theme song. Was that really Gary Lewis?
