This is amazing - you are all so great. This brings me joy to see how much of a family unit you all are. As someone who grew up with drug addict parents I moved out at 16. I got into college mostly as a means to have somewhere to live and eat regularly.. I graduated during covid and was blessed with a wonderful job and can now have a place to sleep every night and a fridge full of food. I found my faith during all of this, and I pray every night to find a partner focused on family and faith. I hope to be blessed like you guys some day. Thank you for being such a wonderful example and giving people hope.

Renlee, I pray and hope for your continued success. I came from a violent crazy home myself and was on the streets at 16. I too persevered and made something of myself and won't be having to worry about finding a safe place to sleep anytime soon. I destroyed a great marriage along the way, because I had no idea what a happy healthy functional relationship looked like. That was my biggest wake up call that I needed help. Getting help was the hardest thing I've ever done, but so worth it. Sounds like you are on a great path! ❤️ I pray for your continued growth and success and that you get all the wonderful things your heart desires.

Girl we knew you would not sink!!!! I have been watching since gardening and tree pruning in WA and rabbit videos and one thing I knew for sure, when you guys were pondering making the move sooner, would it work...I told you to GO FOR IT. I had no doubt you guys would make it all happen. It has been a joy watching this all come together...we start our home, finally, this spring. I have learned so much from you for us to consider that we would not have even thought of. A thousand blessings over your family. We did our well drills about the same time but we could not make the move until this spring so have done a lot remotely. We have used the "waiting room" to learn about our new climate and other retire-steading skills. Not easy, but for sure can be done. The last trip home was filled we excitement, we can finally see the end of this season in our journey and cannot wait to begin the next phase. Thank you for your, well, just EVERYTHING. Much love....

You closing statements always bring my wife to tears, as she can feel the realness of the words you say. This is a good thing, for reasons I cant explain, other than both of us being veterans, and I a former LEO who was shot on duty and she got the call... its good she feels again. I also want to thank you so very much for what you do for cancer patients. My mother and my wife's mother died of cancer, as did my grandmother and uncle, so it really hits home with us your generosity and care given. My husband and I are just about ready to have our vaulted roof system put up this month. Our goal was to be able to be working inside before snow hits hard here in Wisconsin. We have been doing almost everything ourselves with occasional family member help. I also homeschool my daughters for 5yrs now. You guys moving in gave me hope for our journey as we are only halfway through building. We hope to be in by late spring, early summer. We made our walkout basement ahead of time 4yrs ago and have lived in it for 3.5yrs now . Thank you for sharing your journey.

today, i needed this. I watched as you and the family settled in, got comfortable and celebrated. Right now, we are in a topsy turvy world of chaos as our home of 30 years is torn asunder, things being thrown away and others being packed. We are under a HUGE deadline and so much of the time, i almost panic at not being able to make that deadline.
Our house in idaho has not yet closed, yet we have to move forward with faith and positive thoughts as we molve forward to another chapter in a different place.
Seeing the end of this chapter in your lives has helped this morning. thank you.

WOW, Good day to the Souza family. I woke up & watched your video & started to read the 403 comments when I fell asleep, now after brunch & a second viewing at 926 comments I can say, you're my 2020 version of the 150-year-old "Little House On The Prairie", of "family" pulling together. From Last Supper pizza on the floor to self-made individual pizzas on the island, it's been a real RIDE !!! In anticipation of your video for today, I watched a 2011 movie by Thomas Kinkade, "Christmas Lodge" last night & my prayer for all of you after the fundraising for pediatric cancer is finished is for the family atmosphere from that movie to become the legacy of the Souza Mountain Lodge for decades to come. I am so impressed with you two and your family. How much you were able to accomplish by yourself. Granted you hired some help but that is great. But overall you two built your family a home by yourself... You two are so inspirational and I hope other people could see that and take it as a lesson in their lives. I just can't wait to see more videos. I sure hope a barn for the horses is the next step. My family horse lived to be 39 years old. It was really a sad day when he passed. We had gotten when he was 2 years old and my dad and I trained him to be a cutting horse since we had cow calf heard. His name was diamond and he was truly a big help in the spring when we would sort off the yearlings from their moms. But boy could he be stubborn. And you never left the gate open because he'd be out of it instantly. God bless you all and I just want to say also you have raised your kids to be very understanding, and very polite and caring young people. ♥️♥️♥️

I began watching your channel about the time you all moved out of the house in Washington. Two and a half years went by so quickly. From the barn/tiny home build, to the laying of the foundation and joists for the new home, to finally moving in. It's been a wonderful time to watch and see the progress each step of the way. Guys, you have no idea of what you did for your first meal. When my folks bought their first house a lil 8 yr old bungalow in NJ in 1968, I was 14 hrs old, my mom cooked a huge meal in celebration. Fifty eight yrs later I remember that meal as if it was yesterday, I remember the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, etc. it was a hot August Sunday I can almost smell and feel the day still. Your kids will have this day forever imprinted in their minds and will remember it often. My folks stayed together until dad passed in 2014. My advice fight tooth n nail to stay together. Your kids are watching and they will always remember with love this day. Much love from our fam to yours! Absolutely great vid.
I have had a gas stove and oven for years. There is a convection setting on the oven and it sounds exactly like the sound your oven was making. It's the fan in the back of the oven spinning and rotating the heat evenly throughout the oven.
