- Traffic safety is, by many measures, a massively under-treated disease and a global public health crisis. Automation and robotics has long been viewed as a key antidote. But how safe will an increasingly automated future on the roads be?
Dr. Bryan Reimer, founder of the Advanced Vehicle Technologies Consortium at MIT, argues that our automated future can be very safe - but first we need to plan for the systems that will make it so.

'We' Can Save 'US''| Bryan Reimer | TEDxWaltham what a team - amazing.
I like it! "Most critical life saving technology of the century"!
Mr Reimer did a really accurate job of converting his text to speech.
Man, it;s nice to walk wherever you want and not be walked. It's nice to own and drive a car and not be driven.
It's nice to have your own dog or phone and not borrow it, to have your own house and not rent it.
It's even nice to shake hands with a taxi driver who will bring you what you tell him/her or ask in case it is not clear. To talk to the driver a bit .
Self-driving cars - a useless idea.
useless idea? 1.3 million people die every year due to human drivers every year. I will see how you sing when one of your family members die due to a drunk driver.
1st like😂😂
Smart, cars...buses...semis for people that have proved they can't drive ? "Maybe" not a bad idea...but for good drivers, I personally never trust a computer to do my driving.
His lack of faith in Musk is disturbing.
