Living in zone 3 on the Canadian Prairies presents unique challenges for homesteading and herbalism. The harsh climate, dry and nutrient-poor soil, and risk of drought are just a few of the obstacles we face. However, we have found ways to adapt, using new technologies, crop genetics, and gardening techniques. We also source plants from other regions and dry and store them for future use. We are excited to share these tips and techniques with you.
We are inspired by our grandfather, who taught us the value of determination and the importance of living in harmony with nature. His love for gardening and herbalism has stayed with us throughout our lives, and we are honored to carry on his legacy.

I cant wait to see how many of the bad bulbs still sprout. I've never heard about planting bulbs at different depths to force different flowering times, what a great tip! Thanks again, Cody for the great videos. 🙏

ohhh I am feeling supreme optimism here too! I am so sad I left my tulip bulbs in the greenhouse during winter time , but this video is so inspiring! Garden tour and U-pick sounds cool !

I'm sure all of those tulips in the ground are going to be an amazing sight to see! And really interested to see what happens with those tulips - I have been thinking a lot lately about how I might force tulips maybe next year. I am still a little too burned by the amount of money I lost on bulbs that never bloomed last year haha. But I think I know better now and next year might be the year!

It wouldn't be Akberta without a 20° C swing 😁😁😁. Lots of great projects going on. Really like the U-Pick idea :)
    Book sounds great Cody !!
