  • In todays video I work towards getting the Ford 9" 3rd member rebuilt and ready to go into the 1955 Chevy pickup build. This limited slip carrier, that I had left over from the LS swap F150, has been used and abused. All the clutch plates are toast and burnt up. I picked up a rebuild kit for a fraction of the price of a new differential carrier.

    You put the 2nd washer in the wrong spot, it goes in the recess in the clutch cover, not between the splined clutch plate and the spider gear

      When I start assembling the axle I will be pulling it all apart again to fix it. Thank you for letting me know!

      ​@machnikgarage sorry, I wasn't trying to be critical.. but I had just taken mine apart... before I commented, I looked at the ford assembly drawing to be sure.

      No worries. I appreciate the input and I would rather fix it before i figure out the hard way that it is assembled wrong.
