Excellent and easy to follow video. Thanks a lot.
Water wasn’t working but I found a tip saying to try a thin layer of petroleum jelly! Works great for me!
Thank You :)
Thanks!
Nice video, but what if there is another design on the other side that you want to use at a later date after applying this to it?
It's just like installing car window tint. Spray on Windex or soap water and slide bubbles out. Been doing it for years. Works like a charm.
I've heard of dishwashers soap but not sure how much to add to a bottle of water. Do you know?
I used that but I now have a streak running from top to bottom where the glue has come unstuck.
is that craig from parks and recreation?
No. He's played by Billy Eichner. This is just some regular schmuck.
Do NOT use sea view. It dries out after a couple months and starts peeling. I have air bubbles in the center of the tank now and have to figure out how to move my established 40 gal out from the wall to paint it. Don’t waste your time especially if it’s a large tank
That's what I was worried about, especially if sun is hitting the back of the tank for me. Does self adhesive background do any better?
poke bubbles with an exacto knife to get rid of the sticker bubbles when applying the sticker down to the back of the aquarium (DON'T PULL BACK AND ADD MORE STICKY STUFF that will ruin the picture)!
What if I want to remove the background? Will it come off?
HorseGirlb yeah
Is it bad if I put the background paper on the side walls of the tank as well?
don’t worry about the ignorant pos who replied with zero input lmao, it’s 100% fine and could be beneficial if your fish constantly chases their reflection!
@Night Hawk lmao
If you don't plan to look in through that side, why not. If your tank sits in a corner for example. No law against it.
thank you for this video! first time applying one on a tank in 2024
What is seaview? Never seen it at the shops
Is there an alternative you can use other than Seaview?
+Santiago Mascorro did you even watch?
Santiago Mascorro Scotch tape
Marco Hidalgo water would look better than scotch tape
Ammonia free Windex or even a spray bottle of water.
Water does the same job, just make the glass and the backing wet.
Does it matter how wet it is?
Actually no. I tried and it came off after a week.
18 months mine has been on just using water.
It works for a while, but eventually the water escapes
How about massage oil
Hi, I will they seaview asap !!
Goddamn this a a petco training video 😂😂😂😂 i had to watch this once 💀
I use to add a little water on the back of my tank I'd cup the water with my hand and rub it on the back and the background would stick instantly and would show up very bright, sounds weird I know but it worked, I just use tap now.
kelly anderson hey hope this is not a joke as I might try this
It is a joke
I also heard of using petroleum jelly.
@@santhoshthevaraj5515 no joke, I used dollar store windex and it stuck beautifully and so bright!!
Please can anyone help.
I am looking for a Titanic background for my 250 litre Fluval Roma.
blink twice if petcos kidnapping you
and you can also use mineral oil. works the same
+johnny cruz its not greasy?
No, hes just an idiot. Dont really use mineral oil
@@Coral_dude dish washing liquid, diluted. for applying to back
Cost like 3Dollars. IDK why ppl complain about it.
people complain about everything
I saw it at petsmart 😂 didn’t know what it was for , bought the backgrounds home , looked up vids and now I’m like wttttfffffff lol closet petsmart or petco is about 50 minutes 😂
Or you can just use a water spray bottle or Windex...no need for clear veiw!
Tyler Snyder really ? I bought backgrounds for my tank without knowing I needed a special liquid lol
Windex is the last thing you want to be putting on your tank. The ammonia will kill your fish.
@@TotallyNormalHumanMan I was saying a windex bottle would work not the actual cleaner it self
how about a double sided tape?
Is there anything I can use without paying $80 for the Seaview
Plain old tap Water does the same thing
Sea view is like $6 lollllll I have it right now
@@BridgetJonesDiary the Seaview he used us $80 a bottle in Australia I have checked. I don’t know of anything else called Seaview
Water. Or cooking oil. Though if you plan to tape the edges, then don't do the oil OR this seaview crud.
Good ole scotch tape has yet to fail me.,👍👍
Sea view is the worst product on the market. All it does it make a mess and it bubbles like crazy in about 2 months.
no need for background it will look too cluttered. all you need is plants an decore for pops of collor. plus your hood light will be brighter without that.
I prefer a black or blue solid background.
I prefer a translucent plain background
Background definitely makes a difference. Especially if the tank is up against a neutral paint wall. [Opinion]
Yup I agree.
For all fish (especially bettas) an aquarium background can help tremendously with your fish's lifestyle. It keeps the fish entertained and curious, while also adding a nice view. Bettas, which are one of the smartest and easiest fish to have as a pet (you can actually train them to do things) love having an aquarium background as it allows them to feel at home and it provides entertainment and the fish will actually swim along the wall looking at the background.
He's selling a completely unnecessary product... folks, for projects like this, just use some ammonia-free Windex or even a bottle of water... works just fine for static cling using exact same method.
