    Giovanni got injured, you might remember that. He was unable to visit her bed for months, although that wasn't exactly clarified in the series :) Still, there's no doubt that the baby is Paolo's.

    @roxsannapetrova
    She knows the baby isn't her husband's, since her lover Palo loosened her husband's saddle and he was really badly hurt, thus he wasn't able to sleep with her. She spent the time with Palo therefor the baby is Palo's :)

    @123ziggy123zig I should point out that it was never actually proven that Cesare and Lucrezia slept together.

    Now, I don't think it's fair to generalize people's comments on this one scene as society seeing sex and lust in every relationship. It's not like it's very common for people to look at TV siblings& be like 'mmm yes, they should get it on' lol I think it mostly has to do with the actors' crazy chemistry paired w/the uncomfortable closeness of their other scenes (i.e. L watching C having sex then rolling around in the grass, their faces always w/in 2in of each others') not normal sib behavior imo

      PingPlate yes for me it has definitely got to do with beautiful actors that don’t even share any physical similarities, in real life the thought of incest is disgusting and shouldn’t be seen as anything but damaging abuse.
      (Sorry for such a gap in my reply, I’ve only just discovered this wonderful show and I’m crazy at the moment!)

    this is the only mistake of The Borgias in Showtime.
    Putting to Paolo like father of Giovanni, when in the reality was Cesare .

    Is there any part in the series where Cesare carries or shows affection to Lucrezia's son during Season 2? I know her husband in Season 3, the virgin, cuddled him tenderly but it would have been nice to see Cesare taking care of little Gio.

    • @iamlinda100
      @iamlinda100 Před 7 lety +34

      yes Cesare had held little Giovanni in his arms a few times in season 2, he also became Giovanni's godfather and he held him during his baptism towards the end of season 2.

      Their relationship was highly rumored around Italy, this was not made up for the show and shock value. They are actually depicting what took place between them (or rumored to have taken place)
      It's said they had a long term sexual relationship even while being with other people. He was said to be very cold and cruel to others but not with her. It was the only time people said he was different, human and caring, but only with her on one else. This along with their closeness, is what fueled a lot of the rumors.

    @4444randomness Really? That kind of dialogue is realistic to you? Do you think this is how they spoke? It's a misguided attempt at poetic writing.

    • @iamlinda100
      @iamlinda100 Před 7 lety +1

      Well they certainly wouldn't talk back then like how we talk now, so you're opinions are misguided too. You haven't watched many period shows have you?

  • @CyborgNinja7
    @CyborgNinja7 Před 13 lety

    Terrible acting and poor production. I guess the economy affected how much could be spent on the show. It's pretty hard to make the Borgias seem boring, but this show did it. They really should've taken a few notes from The Tudors: when doing a period piece, you really should keep the dialogue as modern and un-hokey as possible. This isn't Shakespeare. If you are interested in the Borgias, play Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.

    • @iamlinda100
      @iamlinda100 Před 7 lety +22

      did you actually watch the entire series or just base your judgement on this one clip? The fact that you would compare a TV series to a video game is enough for me to not take your opinions seriously.

    • @Shan_Dalamani
      @Shan_Dalamani Před 5 lety +12

      The point of doing a period piece is to show the period it's set in. Costume dramas with modern pop culture references only work if it's a parody (ie. Robin Hood: Men in Tights).
