We asked Americans how to say "Weihenstephan." Easy answer? Delicious, any way you pronounce it. Find Weihenstephan near you: us.weihenstephaner.com/product...
@@KrunshCraft Tell me... I'm on a personal quest to find the best wheatbeer available. What would you recommend? :) For me, nothing tops the good old Weihenstephaner Hefe Weißbier... :)
Hi Joe Hamel - Thanks for the question! Weihenstephan is our brewery and Weihenstephaner means "Beer from the Weihenstephan Brewery." Yet both work well when used to order at the bar. Prost!
I think the Weihenstephan USA marketing team are trying to anglicize the name to make it easier to market. If you want to know how to pronounce it correctly, ask a German: m.czcams.com/video/MMtkg8rw0dc/video.html
I have known the pronunciation but I'm not 100% sure on the context in which Weihenstephaner is used over Weihenstephen? It's written as Weihenstephaner on your labels but the Brewery is Weihenstephan, Is the "er" suffix possessive, as if to say, "this is Weihenstephan's Hefe." I've been wondering this for some time.
This is one of my favorite brands. Especially the Pilsner. I turned a buddy of mine on to it who has always been a bourbon guy mostly because American beer hurt his stomach. Now he is a beer guy and because of the purity law he has had no problems. He was just telling me today that he has turned another friend of ours onto it. That guy but some and took it on vacation/family reunion. He had other people try it and they said it was the best beer they ever had. 👍🏻 I now have my friend collecting glassware like I do for all of my beers. Why are Weihenstaphner Pilsner glasses so damn hard to find? It took me a few years to find two and that was just recently. I don’t even see them on your website. It would really be nice to see them in a .3 L Pokal from Rastal or Ritzenhoff
I guess they figured since we say Volkswagen and BMW wrong why not "Weihenstephaner"? One of my favorite places on the web: forvo.com/word/weihenstephaner/ Unfortunately a bad example with this word being whispered. Können wir einen Deutschsprachigen eine neue Aufnahme machen lassen? Tut mir leid, ich benutze nur Google Übersetzer.
I first ran into this beer at a Home Run Inn Pizzeria in Chicago, Illinois--there was a dare: "Have you tried a beer from a 1000-year old brewery?" I was directed to Weihenstephan--one of the most premium beers that I've tried--Brewed according to Reinheitsgebot (Purity Order)--the only ingredients allowed are hops, barley, and spring water. Chicago's Premium Pizzeria is the ONLY place I know that offers the oldest beer on tap.
Weihenstephan is the name of the brewery and the brand and Weihenstephaner the name of the beer. Weihenstephaner is meaning "beer frome the bavarian state brewery Weihenstephan". Weihenstephan is a municipality in higher Bavaria. You order a Weihenstephaner, the beer is a Weihenstephaner beer, but the brand is "Weihenstephan". -er is a suffix in the German language.
Best. Beer. Ever.
In germany, there is better beer.

The prices for these 6 packs drain my wallet here in the states but life is too short to drink bad beer.
C N how much is it
$10 in minnesota
It definitely has a premium price tag, but if there's a better beer on this earth than their Hefeweissbier, I have yet to taste it.
Same here in Texas.
In GERMANY, you sometimes pay 12$ for 6 x 17 fl. oz
Best German beer I've ever had. I picked up a variety case from Costco and every sip was amazing.
Keep your livers in order for their 1,000the anniversary in 2040!
That's awesome... I'll be in my early 60s not even retirement age yet. Hope I make it! Something to look forward to...
Wouldn't Weihenstephan be pronounced, in German, "Vy-en-shteffan?"
Yes
yeah my thoughts exactly.

I visited the brewery about 11 years ago. It is a wonderful campus and brewery.
Best beer hands down, followed by hoogarden.
It's actually pronounced Vy-hen-shteff-on.
Best beer I've ever had, sehr shön, super danke.
I live there
Wait, why is the W pronounced the same,as the English W? Shouldnt it be a V like pronunciation? Btw this beer is amazing.
It’s pronounced like V, not W.
My grandmother was from a German speaking family. We use to ask her how to say something.
Great tasting beer at a great price! I can buy a big bottle at the liquor store for only $3!
Where can I order a keg of this in the USA? I've only been able to get 6 packs here
I've never seen kegs in the States - but a lot of good beer stores carry reasonably priced 12 packs.
"Y-EN-STEFFAN"
No, that is wrong.
Vitus!!!
Weihenstephan was what made the Germans so deadly in both great wars.
Legit the only beer I'll drink 🍻

Come to germany
Weihenstephan is 10 time better when you drink it in germany.
Great beer, too bad it's impossible to verbally recommend it to anyone
100% not how you pronounce it
Ayinger is better
Well thats arguable. Both are my favorite but I go with Weihenstephaner just because of availability...?
