- Jake brought us his newly-purchased '49 Ford to have it looked over- he'd noticed some drivetrain vibration under certain driving conditions and just wanted everything underneath checked out.
We made some adjustments to the 4 link, made sure none of the air ride system was broken or dangerous, and sent him back on his way- for now! This car is actually coming back soon for a bunch of upgrades, so stay tuned and we'll be posting a Part 2 to this one shortly!
Oh, and I mistakenly said that the whole chassis had been swapped to S10- I noticed later that it's just an S10 front clip grafted onto the stock chassis behind the front wheels but forgot to re-shoot my correction... so here it is! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
To have bare metal cleared is very impressive flawless car .
I have a 50 shoebox, all chevy running gear, chopped 4" there killer sleds, love his!
I built that. My first chop. My first subframe. My first interior.
Nice! I like the chop a lot- good lines on the roof and pillars.

Hey Rich! I love the car!! It just got updated air ride and 383!!!
I’d love to chat with you sometime
That’s the coolest car I’ve ever seen!!!!
I feel like you may have a slight bias lol. But it’s definitely right up there!
Nice ride !
The diff pinion angle definitly needed adjusting..lol. 😊
Ideally it should match the transmission angle so the top arms shouldve been lengthened to kick it up same as transmission
I dig the car and that red shadow in ur garage. My mom had a blue 94
Thanks! I need to pull that Shelby out soon and take it for a spin- poor thing just sits
Thanks for this video it's inspiring,
I have a 49 myself and I'm motivated to chop it but need to do further research which way would be less of cutting ,any ideas where I can get more in details? Thanks
I’m definitely not a sheetmetal guy, but the owner of this car is going to a “chop class” in the spring to learn more about the process. You might try searching for that on google to see if there’s one of those classes happening near you. Good luck!

Would you happen to know of an air kit for a 1968 Ford LTD?
Nice work i have a 54 merc …ALL MERC… not a salad
This one definitely has parts from a few manufacturers. But I won’t hold it against him- hot rodding is all about working with what you have available!
That’s a s10 front clipped original frame. The rails, body mounts and crossmembers are all original.
Yeah, I realized that after filming and mentioned it in the video description. But nobody reads those! Haha
Hey, sorry for focusing on something negative. I really appreciate your clips and the exposure you’re giving us to bagged cars. Keep it up!
@@mxrider278 no worries at all! I was kicking myself after realizing it was just an s10 clip and not the whole chassis after it left, and almost just did a voiceover to correct my mistake. But life goes on! Thanks for the kind words!
um...that's a coupe.
I’ve always called all 49-51 Fords “shoeboxes”- is that not correct?
