- Hurricane Beryl tore through the Soufriere waterfront, leaving a path of destruction in its wake.
The storm surge overwhelmed buildings and infrastructure, while fierce winds damaged or destroyed fishing boats, a vital part of the local economy. Despite the devastation, residents are pulling together to clear debris and begin the long road to recovery.
I met two wonderful people from St. Lucia when I was doing my masters degree at the University of Arizona in Tucson. I can still remember the name of one of them, Johnson Cenac! I hope they still alive and I wish the best to them and to all the people of St Lucia! If you know Johnson tell him that Paco, from Puerto Rico sends his regards
