Wonderful display of the Omniscience of "the Father of all." My prenatal life was a prophecy of my future. Before I was born I heard many hours of classical piano from both my grandmother, who was a concert pianist and conservatory professor, and my mom who also played and composed music. When I was age 4 and learned the musical alphabet from A to G it was discovered I could identify and replicate every pitch. From that day forward, my career was certain.
Joseph never new Mary until after Jesus was born, so how can Jesus have any of Joseph's lineage in him? That does not make any sense at all. Mary's lineage coming down through David makes more sense. Joseph and Jesus are not related. Very strange and confusing discussion.
Both Joseph AND Mary were descended from King David. Just along different lines. Joseph was Jesus' stepdad. ALL the Judeans of the time were descended from Judah son of Jacob. They were simply distant cousins.
The lineage and language are Spiritual, and we are to compare Spiritual things with Spiritual things. Notice the question that Jesus asked the Pharisees in the following passage. “What think ye of Christ? Whose son is he?” Jesus was evidently testing the faith of the Pharisees regarding His Divinity, whether they regarded Him simply as a man, or the Divine Son of God. A chorus of voices answered simultaneously, “The son of David.” This was the title that prophecy had given to the Messiah. When Jesus had revealed His Divinity by His mighty miracles, when the sick were healed and the dead restored to life, the people had marveled and inquired among themselves, “Is not this the son of David?” The Syrophenician woman, blind Bartimeus, and many others had cried aloud to Him for help, “Thou son of David, have mercy on me!” Only a few hours before, while riding into Jerusalem, He had been hailed with joyful “Hosannas to the son of David, Blessed is He who cometh in the name of the Lord,” and the little children in the temple had that day echoed the same glad shouts. In reply to the answer of the people, that Christ was the son of David, Jesus said: “David in Spirit [the Spirit of inspiration from God,] called Him Lord, saying, The LORD [The Father] said unto my Lord [Jesus}, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. If David then called Him Lord, how is He his son? And no man was able to answer Him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask Him any more questions.” Jesus is the Son of God, and His Father was the Holy Spirit, Mat 1:18 “for she [Mary] was found with child of the Holy Ghost.” Jesus was the Son of God made as a man of the lineage of David through both Mary and Joseph, but His father was the Holy Spirit. The language is symbolic and must be understood in that light. Grace be with you, and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.
@@cherryslade-xn9hx King David was of the line of Judah, not one of Joseph's sons (the tribes of Manasseh and Ephraim - there was no tribe of Joseph. His line was divided among his sons). Yes there was another Joseph born to another Jacob. Matt 1:1-16 shows the lineage. Matt 1:2 - "Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren" takes the lineage from Judah (Judas in the Greek) on down to Jesus. Verses 15-16 show a 2nd Jacob born to Matthan and a 2nd Joseph born to that 2nd Jacob.

Joseph, Jacob’s son is the Joseph referred to - Not Jesus’ earthly father.
