Have to say this upgrade was worth it, even the main jet was easy.
Great video, great website experience. I'm sold. Even without free shipping anymore, with this code it came out to $150 WITH the jet and gasket. $10 bucks cheaper than amazon which does not include jet and gasket!
Added benefit to installing the scooter works non-catalytic exhaust.. your engine will run much cooler.. which is better for the longevity of the engine
Absolutely, we love when customer opt for this exhaust
Nice! Thanks for showing a real world comparison. 👍
I just installed a scooterworks exhaust on my buddy 50..( did NOT rejet the carb) I gained 5 MPH on my top end ! & more torque off the line & up hills !! BTW I installed a prima..WINDSHIELD and increased my top end ANOTHER 5MPH faster! TOTAL WITH THE WINDSHIELD AND THE EXHAUST 10 MILES AN HOUR FASTER ON THE TOP END! .. THANK YOU SIEGFRIEDS.. for answering my phone calls and all my annoying questions 👍
Nice work glen!
Does the windshield decrease drag, which increases the top end speed?
@@glassbreaks99 yes the windshield reduces drag gives you a little more top end
I installed the scooter works exhaust system not only did I gain approximately 8 mph faster than stock.. the engine runs a lot cooler which is better for the engine..! I did not rejet the carb although I may consider rejetting the carb in the future
Swap out the variator pully weights for some Dr.Pully's, and they take off pretty quick. Did it to my wife's, HUGE improvement plus the pipe and carb work.
We have a RoughHouse sport coming in sometime this week to do a stage 1 CVT build, Scooterworks SPORT pipe, and the upgraded main jet.
Dr. Pulley Clutch, Dr. Pulley Variator, and some slider! Should be a ripper...we will be posting a video on this one once its done!
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx That thing should rip after you're done!
What weight dr pulley's did you use?
I gained 5 mph faster with the sport exhaust... Add a windshield you will gain 5 mph faster on the top end as less wind drag I now gain 10 miles an hour between the windshield and the exhaust and I did not rejet the carb
I think genuine buddy and rough house 50’s are the same type motor as a jog/minarelli motor just dependent on piston pin size 10 or 12mm and small or big spline on the variatior side. If it is these bikes will become very popular with aftermarket support from Europe like polini and malossi. Can’t wait to see when you put a 70cc big bore and rejet the carb for your bikes n see how fast they’ll get. Very impressive n liking your vids 👍
yes indeed! The same minarelli! There is already a really great aftermarket scene for these scooters
Is there another universal performance pipe that will work on the RH? Just asking as availability may be different here in NZ, cheers
That's buzzy, cause here in NZ that Buddy is called a PGO Ligero
Does the stock scooter in this video still have the exhaust restrictor in place?
Does this work on a BBK as well? 😊💪👊
what do u have for a hooligan bro what tools would i need to do this myself
Anyone have a good video for installing a new main jet? I want to order this exhaust but am having trouble finding a good source to watch that. Thansk
I have a buddy 50 2008 two-stroke do you know the size of the stator I need for it
P.S. don't forget to remove your restrictor ring on your varator
MY BUDDY 50 DIED !! I have 11,000 miles on it.. I believe possibly the crank bearings went? .. over the Labor Day weekend I rode it Saturday everything was fine.. Sunday it sounded like the engine was getting loud with a lot of Yang Yang Yang Yang.. sound like I was driving a Kawasaki triple two-stroke Widowmaker 😜.. started to hear a rattling in the engine which I believe was the bearings going..😢.. the warranty ended back in July... I believe I'll probably have one of my local motorcycle/scooter mechanics rebuild the engine.. possibly put in a 70cc kit? Over the winter
how many mph with the sport exhaust?
I seem to occasionally scrape the center stand when I lean over real far making a real sharp LH TURN .. occasionally when making a sharp right hand turn leaning way over I scraped the bottom of the exhaust pipe... HAVE YOU EVER HAD THIS HAPPEN TO YOU? Like I stated it doesn't happen often but once in awhile if the road has a certain contour. I sort of ride my buddy like a sport bike!!..
I’ve never had anyone complain about dragging kick stand, Your buddy is fairly new not?
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx yes I purchased my buddy 50 the end of this past June .. I have 3,300 mi on it.... Like I said I ride it like a sport bike! The scraping doesn't happen often.. it seems to happen if the road has sort of an upgrade and then a sharp turn I lean pretty far over.. but no permanent damage just a little scraping on the bottom edge of the center stand.. on rare occasions I scrape the bottom of the exhaust when making a real sharp right turn usually the road is like on a upgrade with a sharp turn...
Do they make a exhaust for the rough House sport? If this one fits I missed it in the video. Also do other brands make exhaust for the roughhouse sport? I'm also interested in the other CvT parts you were talking about as well is this something you offer
there are a lot of options for the roughhouse sports. This pipe that we sell on our site is a great easy 5mph mod as is with no supporting mods
as for other CVt parts give us a shout during business hours. we can set you up with what you need 717-769-1903
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx thank you I'll do that I haven't picked it up yet and I put my down payment down on a new one it should be in by mid-February
Next video, bring one of these by my house.
;)
Do you guys make performance exhausts for the hooligan 170i?
AutomaticSlim we do have a sport exhaust option for the Hooligan 170i
If you swap on the sport exhaust and the jet, is there any tuning involved or is it pretty much plug and play? And what did you guys do with the emissions hose thingy?
I installed the sport pipe and never rejet the engine goes 5mph faster .. more torque on the takeoff and the hills also.. I installed a prima windshield and gained five more miles per hour faster on the top end less drag..
The emission hose we will normally cap off or run a small filter on it.
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx my scooter works not catalytic exhaust had the same second pipe for that rubber hose thingy so I just hooked it up like the original no problem here
When will the roughhouse one be done?
Hard to say, but definitely a video that will happen
Take my advice from a buddy 50 owner.. do yourself a favor.. PURCHASE THE SCOOTERWORKS ..NON-CATALYTIC EXHAUST.. your engine will run cooler.. I gained between 5 and 8 mph on the top end and I did NOT do any carburetor rejet.. I added a primo windshield to mine and I now get a honest 10MPH increase top speed ...45 mph indicated on Speedometer..Wich is actually 40 MPH .. ON LEVEL GROUND!
Would you guys deliver down to DE?
Yes for sure
How does this effect mpg?
Minimally clean it will vary depending upon your riding habits
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx the exhaust did not increase or decrease my MPG... Perhaps the windshield with less drag may have increased it very slightly... It's hard for me to tell because I'm always revving the engine all the time at a red light & while riding so I waste a lot of fuel.. I just love that two-stroke sound ❤️🤣.... I love the smell of two stroke oil in the morning 🤣
Is it normal for some oil to come out of the end
Mine does ..little seepage oil is normal
The end of the pipe?
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx yes a little tiny buildup of oil on the end of the pipe.. it's normal I've had this with two-stroke motorcycles over the years also my dad's Suzuki 500 2-stroke twin..
Is there a cheaper aftermarket carb that swaps out for the buddy 50? The OEM is 167 bucks.
Is your bike fully stock?
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx yes
you may be able to save a few bucks going with a cheaper carb with an intake manifold. But what is the reasoning behind replacing the carb?
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx on other machines its been easier swapping an aftermarket bolt on than doing diagnostics. I cant find a video on how to get to and work on this carb
@@matts4381 accessing the carb is very easy. If you’d like we can post a video on it
Would this exhaust void the 2 year warranty
It's possible it might.. just keep the original exhaust.. and if there is a major problem that needs warranty work put the original exhaust pipe back on... This thing is awesome the exhaust increased my top end by 5 miles per hour..! I did not rejet my carb... I added a prima windshield on my buddy 50 and gained another 5 mph on the top end! Less wind drag your scooter will go faster I have not yet done any variator work and like I mentioned no rejet yet
Most dealers will void the warranty if this is installed
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx I kept the original exhaust so if I ever had a problem I would put the original back on before I took it in for warranty work.. the stock catalytic exhaust actually makes the engine run much hotter.. which is not good for the longevity of the engine... The scooter works non-catalytic exhaust allows my engine to run much cooler and Gain speed on the top end even without rejetting the carb.. between the scooter works exhaust and the windshield I easily do 40 mph on level ground..(Honest 40 mph via GPS. Reads 45 on speedometer) ..(10mph increase with the non-catalytic exhaust and windshield less drag)
what is that round black thing that has a tube running from cvt through the exhaust mounting? it looks like a car starter kinda. i ask because the scooterworks sport pipe doesnt have the hole for the tube through the exhaust mounting, am i supposed to cap it off? or just leave it on but zip tie it down?how do i bypass that, what does it do, what is it lol sorry im a noob lol
BUT REALLY my question is can this buddy 50 sport pipe fit on a rough house non sport and if no please point me in the direction of the correct pipe and main jet
It’s part of the emissions, cap it off and run it down or you can get a breather filter from autozone
Normally that pushes air from the fan on the varator through a canister to keep the air clean...to the catalytic converter exhaust to keep the catalytic converter clean... Even though the sport pipe has a tube I believe it doesn't do anything on the new exhaust.. but hooked it up anyway.. unfortunately to hook up the canister on the new exhaust I had to find two metric nuts to fit those bolts where the canister screws on
mexicoo😂
Super loud to go no where
I mean it’s barely a noticeable noise level but your right 😘
