Disagree with Yossi on one point. Once you forgo monies in a previous contract, those monies are lost forever, you can never make that up in future contracts. If after this term Brunson were to ascertain the player max, that could be the same player max he would have gotten, if he did not forgo those previous monies... Once that money is gone, it's gone....🤔🤫
If Julius gets his passing or assisting up, he can do the 5 and we're going to be much much more dangerous. He'd need also to increase his 3pt effectiveness/effiency but is those things improve, he's all we'll need to go to the show... May take a little bit more to win it, but we can get there with that improvement.

Be that getting his bag 💰 plus getting his on the offensive side (reason he was disillusioned and wanted to leave Raptors) Unlike Brunson, OUR FRANCHISE GUY, who’s prioritizing team and wins over personal shit.
OG isn’t getting the bigger role on offense now that Bridges is on the team. They are basically paying him that amount to make up for that fact.

Considerably more… ogs net rating (+/-) after the trade was the best in league at 24.9. Only one close was jokic arguably the best player in the league. He unlocked thibs’ vision. He can score but elite wings are finite nay rare in this league n we now have arguably 2 of the top 4… players like that are valued n will get paid accordingly. Injury history is always a concern but not the most important factor If we didn’t pay him he would’ve gotten the same if not more elsewhere… Philly pivoted to pg after og signed bc they really wanted a 7 yr older player not in his prime right. Pg got 4 yrs 212 million max we got og for 5 at 213.5 I’d say it’s a win and fair market value … and we would’ve been panned hard to just let him walk so chill those bones n get ready for an epic season

We are the 2004 pistons. But with a better first option and a lesser paint defender. JB is gonna average around 24.5 points if we are going how we should. Randle should be at around 19-20. OG and Mikal at about 14-17 and we good. I think the Knicks are not gonna resign Randle and let it play out. If we aren’t clicking, they’ll trade him by the deadline. If we are, I think they’ll stay and resign in the offseason.

This contract makes it very likely the Knicks avoid the second apron and all its impacts for one additional season (even if Randle is signed to a max). Once Randle and Bridges are on new deals it will be hard to see them not being a second apron team but for this and next season they avoid it
I know JD makin it seem like Trading Randle elevates the team to be a championship contender but the reality is that the New York Knicks are a back up center away from already being that…The other factor is the health of Julius Randle, OG and others….the Knicks are already there in my estimation after they sign a back up center
