The letter C also sounds like
/k/ in consonant clusters like CL and CR in words like clap, clean, client, crib, cream, crime and so on. Pronouncing some consonant sounds in Isolation in English is super hard, especially the "R" sound and the situation becomes more challenging when it comes to pronouncing the R sound in consonant clusters. I'm a native speaker of Brazilian Portuguese and I've been studying American English pronunciation for a while and I haven't been able to perfect my R sound in consonant clusters yet. I often have a hard time with it. However, I'll just keep trying until it comes out naturally. I won't give, up after all, practice makes perfect, right?

You’re right! I believe the c/k spelling rules are the same for British and American spellings. But maybe there’s a British speaker who can confirm.
