Harry purchased a Sauer 404 in 2021, has it lived up to expectations? This particular rifle is chambered in .308 Winchester and has been used extensively on targets and out deer stalking.

I'm about to order a 404 Synchro XTC in 6,5x55swe, great thoughts and experience sharing!
I think they're lovely and one step above Blaser R8 series, even though it's not a straight pull.

Got the XTC. Brilliant rifle. One thing to note thought, the bipod from Sauer is crap. For whatever reason the rifle starts spraying once you shoot it with the bipod. Better off to shoot it off the sticks.

Spartan Javelin has a adapter for the sauer 404 wich is a much cheaper option then the original bipod from sauer.

About a year ago I bought a Sauer Classic XT 404 in 30-06 caliber. I have used the rifle very little so far. I am disappointed in the quality of the material, that is, the fact that the chamber/receiver is made of aluminum. By cocking, bolt rams into the receiver, causing damage. I am wondering if this is normal?

We can only comment based on our experiences, and we haven’t found that cocking the rifle causes any damage. Maybe one to discuss with your local dealer?
