I can't explain why but I remember being absolutely TERRIFIED of this game as a kid, I genuinely couldn't sleep for weeks every time I played it and thought one of the Blobs would assimilate me in my sleep as if it were the monster from 'The Thing' lmao.
DUDE SAME I came back to see how scary it was (it's not) but I can totally see how I was scared. I only ever played a little of it because that opening cutscene frightened me so bad
SAME. LITERALLY- SAME. I always used to run out of the room in pure fear when my older brother used to play this years ago.
The graphics could be very off putting to kids (tho I somehow don't remember the graphics at all despite playing this game a lot). The weird glob Spongebob in the thumbnail spooked me for a second tho.
Edit: should mention it spooked me because I was looking up game glitches and thought that was one of them.
Edit 2: okay so I don't remember the graphics because they are entirely different on the ds version (which is the one I played.)

I always played this game in one sitting because my save file would always get corrupted when I continued it. I still had fun and it felt sooo good when I finally beat the game before bedtime.

My only complaint with this game is that you can’t choose the characters
2:19:23 Zim is seriously a comedic genius
You know, this game actually has a bad ending. If you do a second playthrough in a different save file, start the final boss in multiplayer, and have Player 2, who controls the robot in the second phase, defeat Player 1, you’ll get the bad ending.
I realized the more failed missions and retries i had the more nostalgia i have with certain areas of the game that was hard to me an emotional attachment i cant explain

I have this game now along with the PS2, Battle For Bikini Bottom, and SmackDown VS RAW 2010. I went to the retro gaming store to get it. They unfortunately didn't have the other SpongeBob games for the PS2 other than BFBB. I plan on getting more retro games in the future starting with the PS2 games. (I'm still going to GameStop for the modern games though)

This is my favorite SpongeBob game! When I tried to do a 100% speed run of this game, it took me a total of 2 hours and 26 minutes to complete. I’m hoping I can do better than that.

I never knew Battle For Volcano Island had a sequel. Just found out last night. Technus is truoy a real one in this game. Complaining about Tak not wearing a shirt. Shoving Patrick aside to fix SpongeBob. Makes me like him more as a character overall, since I never really had an opinion on him in the show before.
