  • A pleasant couple of hours on the canal provides a few roach and some perch to float fished tactics.

Excellent Video Andrew. I like the fact you caught all by the near shelf. I will try this on Friday on my local cut. 👍

good fishing...some nice fish on the centrepin (how many metres of line do you load onto your centrepin?)...Andy I was out on my club lake yesterday using 11' float rod and fixed spool reel using small prawns... with the aim to catch some big perch, but only got perch to 6 inches long, but...... also had f1's and skimmers...!...on prawns???

I usually load 100m on Raymond, I don't find I get any problems with bedding in ect, I use them a lot for close in carp and tench fishing so it's stops me worrying about running out of line when they take off across big lakes :)
I bet it felt good to get out, sometimes I go out to catch one species and end up catching others instead but I think that's what helps to keep angling exciting 😉 all the best for your next trip Raymond.

Yes it was a nice Perch to end on. I admit I couldn't hack all that boat traffic and thats one reason why I don't fish the main canals. There are however a couple of 'cuts' near me that see very little activity from the boats and for most of the year the waters 'gin clear'. Doesn't always make it any easier though :-) And for reference I do like narrow boats and the whole concept of the canal system. See you with tight lines next time Andy :-)

Thank you, yes they are certainly a double edged sword when it comes to fishing but there is plenty of wildlife and flora to look at as well. Tight lines and stay safe 👍

Nice one Andrew, that looked like a decent session. Out of interest, are there any Dace in that canal ?

Hi there, not to my knowledge, lots of other species but I've not come across any face yet. 🤞

Andrew, you're English not American., it's *centre* pin not *center* pin.
