Since I know Ian will be reading this: I challenge him to come out and give all his “justified” reasons for kicking me. They may be legally in their rights to do so, but now they know they fucked up. I have receipts for everything.
My theory going after seeing h3 interviews after the event but before they announced it failed was that they were planning to sell the brand for what I think they were guessing around 3-5 million in a few years as they had the mentality since the first one did so well, the second and third and fourth will do better. Get more investors, sponsors, brand grows, sell for more. They turned down previous offer to sell for over a million. They are very cheeky with how they planned to make money, they knew they couldn’t take a salary for the first two years or so but Anisa said her coworkers were going to “force” them to take a salary the third year, she said this while she and Ian knew they lost 250k but the public didn’t.
I knew something wasn’t right. I was nice about the parties when they’d speak about them, I thought “hey, what do I know. They threw a successful first event so they know their expenses”. I was extremely worried when the video announcing the event went live and people weren’t buying a lot of tickets. We were assured this happened last time as well and most tickets were bought in the last few days leading up to the event, told before the announcement “Floyd mayweather numbers” were expected ??? I knew that was off. I thought the vibe was off when they and a lot of the fighters didn’t want the Pauls involved and the official reason we were given as him being out was they didn’t want him to “take over the brand”. You can criticize Paul for many things, but his presence would have generated more income for charity and I thought that’s what this was supposed to be about. He would have done his thing, drummed up some fake beef and his young fans would have watched even if he wasn’t fighting. Just him being cornerman and at the press conference would have brought eyes. Their business partner has a VERY close working relationship with Paul so having him there would have been doable and worth it in my opinion.
I was also pissed when I found out I couldn’t buy, out of my own pocket, a room for someone close to me for my walkout because people like Hasan, Denims, Frogan and all these other people who didn’t promote the event, had nothing to do with it and were just taking up oxygen were given rooms at the hotel and were able to go to everything but our own friends and families had strict limits. I don’t care about going to a party, it just seemed disrespectful that the “normal” people were denied a room at the inn so to speak so Hasan could enjoy the open bar and free catering without having too many gross normies around him.
But yeah. Very deceptive on how they were going to capitalize monetarily over this LLC, not charity, in the future. Game plan: keep growing it, sell for millions. “We never took a paycheck, we sold it.”
At least that was the plan until the second event failed and unless you’re fighting Tyson, creator boxing seems to have run its course.
