@@Cz82I still love TRC Apocalypse in Elmax. Mille Cuori in Vandis 4 extra performs like CPM Magna-cut except in corrosion resistance. So it would make a slam bang version of Mille Cuori if in CPM MAGNA-CUT With a satin finish!

Would love to see a stress test/destruction test on one of these, I understand why you guys went easy on it but MAGNACUT is supposed to be a pretty tough steel so I would love to see what it can handle

You two are awesome!. There's a danger here in becoming too 'interested' in blade steel, 'revering' the knife so much you end up being hesitant to use it. A knife is a tool just like a screwdriver, and, just like the latter, we should use it without 'thinking'. Mora would get this. Too much emphasis on best steel (I own all kinds from 'basic' to S30V, S110V et al) the ones I most often use are Moras in 12C27. A knife is a knife is a knife, all steels lose their edge - resharpen !. Still, with no 'steel obsession' we wouldn't have great channels like yours, cheers, AL.

Firstly that was hilarious. Second, the handle you can wrap it with paracord or something to fatten it up a bit and shape it to fit your hand better. Unreal how sharp that is out of the box!

You reviewed the BPS adventurer knife. You gave it a very positive review. I went out of my way to buy it. Even after watching the video multiple times, I was still very surprised on how good that knife is. That's why I trust this channel. I wish I had the funds for the DBK knife. TRC does some amazing knives. Love my Classic Freedom as a lightweight outdoor knife.
Classic freedom is my favourite knife from them!
@@DutchBushcraftKnives I agree. I also had the K-1s, but just like the Classic Freedom much better (the handle is fantastic). I would not mind one in MagnaCut :)
The Classic Freedom Full Flat is really a great knife, the Pohlheim is also a great knife, but the South Pole is my favorite knife from TRC, especially with a secondary convex edge (I own three South Pole, the Classic Freedom Full Flat, the Pohlheim, the Mille Cuori and the Apocalypse).
@@achimgeist5185my best TRC is Mille Cuori. I do really like Classic Freedom full flat grind. I'm not opposed to flat grind v edge knives, not the best for outdoors, but they sacrifice cutting for more toughness.
@@achimgeist5185This is exactly what I want to do to my South Pole as well, add a nice convex to it! Sounds amazing!
I want to do this to my Apocalypse too. Really wish I could get the DBK Edition Apocalypse with its convex though! I don't think putting a nice secondary convex on the regular v-ground Apoc will be quite the same unfortunately but will still be a nice upgrade.

Great video guy's I'm a big fan of magnacut I waited two years for my full flat grind EDC made by survive Knives in USA it's scary sharp and own a lot of Knives but its design is impeccable I just can't fault it I bought it to use for deer hunting in New Zealand where I'm from as magnacut steel will handle our moist climate with out a doubt I also have noticed over the last few years both of you Gentleman have come a long way when it comes to cooking meat well done indeed 🕊

This knife to me looks like the tactical knife that someone with a high end bushcraft knife buyers budget would want. If your in the market for say a ratio extrema but also wanna do some normal tasks like starting fires or food prep, this could be the knife for you.

Another great review as always. If you can try to get your hands on a Dawson knife made in Magna-cut. A total Beast of a knife, razor sharp and indestructible. I think you would have a good time putting it to the test.
You guys really need to check out Dawson knives. They do a lot of magnacut and their heat treat is very good!

ive use mine to cross cut a 4 inch dead dry maple tree, pounding on it with a hard wood baton
way harder than i would ever do in a real survival situation and it survived....was still crazy sharp

DBK Bushcrafter in Magnacut is my grail knife.
A year and a half ago I asked Dulo Knives to make me a DBK knife, I extra Cm in handle 3 extra Cm in blade length in CPM MAGNA-CUT they Saud yes, but after that nothing. No email, no knife. I think I did it wrong. I wanted 4 knives from Dulo Knives, but it didn't happen.. Would have been great! I don't Want a limited TRC Knives DBK knife because I want others to have them, not buy one away from others.

Can you please recommend the best knife fixed blade knife under $250, one that’s the most versatile and has the best edge retention. I know a lot about folding knives but when it comes to fixed blades I am in the dark. I would really like to start carrying a fixed blade though.

How does its edge retention compare to the UG Tools TiNy in Magnacut that you already tested? The phonebook paper test wasn't really shown in the video back then and you just told that "it got a little dull".
