I think Wolff showed the biggest discrepancy between the quality of the keeper and the quality of the defence. What he did in some matches was downright miraculous when you see how half his defenders seemed to be sleeping on the job.
(My comment was about major handball nations, the title for best keeper when compared to his team goes to Georgia's keeper IMO)
Not really, usually the German defence is pretty solid.
@@rotschwarzlebenslang I don't know, I found that (I didn't watch all their matches though) compared to the other major nations they have a tendency to be late at falling back in defence, making Wolff almost alone in fastbreak situations.
Sure they're Germany so it's not like they're actually BAD. I guess the word would be "underwhelming" ?

Some of the goals are overstepped, as usual 😣 Back to the point: Karabatic is wrong here, he's just plain old by now. Young Kuzmanovic a big surprise for me, he's very calm. Bilyk looks amazing, what tensile strength! However, Gidsel is the best there is at the moment...
For me I would have switched Gottfridsson for Claar and Karlsson for Pettersson

The all-star back line should be Martim Costa, Juri Knorr, and Mathias Gidsel. Goalkeeper should be Nielsen, defender Saugstrup, and I guess pivot Fabregas. None of the wingers really stood out IMO.
Especially with the keepers you got to look at more than one game, consistency is what makes for a truly great goalie. Moestl and Kuzmanovic had these great one game performances (interestingly both against Germany) but Wolff had only one lousy half (1st half against Austria). He is head and shoulders above the rest.
In 7 Matches, Möstl became 4 times MVP, so pretty consistent!

@@Pat005pro I mean Emil Nielsen has the highest saving percentage in the tournament right now, so if he plays well in the semi and final it'll definitely be deserved for him too
@@thephilm3535 yeah but still, look at how influential Kuzmanović's saves were, also his performance against Germany yesterday was just incredible. The thing is that Denmark without Nielsen could've been where they are now even if he didn't do as good, while Croatia has been struggling so much that the only reason we got so far and had such results was mostly due to his and Mandić's saves because our attack was terrible.

LW: Wanne ? Descat ? none stands out to me
LB: Bilyk - for the power of his shoots. I haven't watched Portugal games so don't know if Costa could pretend.
CB: Remili is my fav player so I'm ought to put him here. But I was truly impressed by the Austrian CB.
RB: Dika Mem. Gidsel is amazing but I agree he's gonna be MVP.
RW: Weber
LP: Fabregas is the best LP of the world and probably reaching his prime.

you guys are kidding me right? on the left back position the only guy that can win it is Martim Costa look at the goals and the shooting efficiency compared with the other left backs! what the hell we all know how good pytlick is...but he doesn't deserve it in this tournament as much as Martim not even close. Honestly if he doesn't win it in the left back position this is rigged....

How is it that Austria can get 4th place in their group of 6 teams and then have tied for most nominees? Something seems off, no? I mean, Hungary, who got 3rd in their group only got 3 (Austria got 6)

Because Austria doesn't have a bench. Every starting player had to carry the the team through the whole tournament. Hungary has a solid rotation.
