The reason Varon didn’t get much screen time is that the suit was badly rotted.
Give him his own film (or stream series) before the Destroy All Monsters remake.
Abd give him at least a quarter of the screen time
Also wait a minute why couldn't they just make a new suit for varan that would've been easier!?
@@varadaki5990 yo an active commenter on this video
They didn’t make a Varan suit because they used most of the budget for the props and land. They also already made a new angurius and a new Godzilla suit. They just didn’t have enough budget.
@@FruitEnjoyer So they reused Mothra,Kumonga,Minilla,Rodan,Gorosaurus,Varan,King Ghidorah and Baragon?
I'm guessing a new paint job for Kumonga was made
A new Manda,Anguirus, and Godzilla suit was made too
I just love how Gorosaurus is like “I got his tail, boys!”
"look what happened."
16:52
Ghidorah's most humiliating defeat ever; strangled by one of Minya's smoke rings.
More like vape rings
GODZILLA :United Nations Scientific

HALO :United Nations Space Command
I can't believe he missed a Halo joke
I LEGIT FREAKED OUT WHEN I REALIZED THAT WAS THERE 🤣
Not gonna lie, the final battle scored to Mortal Kombat is pretty epic
Yes
When Akira Kubo smiles, he looks like Japanese “Hold it Together Harold.”
Also those spacesuits look like LEGO Minifigures.
No, its Hide The Pain Harold.
I think that Godzilla would make a great Lego
When Rodan passed out I can tell hes not gonna be in a good mood when he wakes up on a bed of spikes.
Never have seen this movie and not sure of the complete context here but this comment ^ is 👌
@@danielsatter1805 On the island when the mosters got knockad out Rodan fell on Anguirus’s back.
Rodan: where's the weed
@@kennylindsay268Godzilla: SHUT UP ABOUT WEED RODAN!
wtf was this comment thread
Summer 2019 - Ironic that people are making the exact same complaints about Godzilla King of Monsters as they are the originals - Script that doesn't make sense, things resetting every twenty minutes, too many Human scenes and not enough Godzilla and other monsters fighting. Just goes to show that as a tribute, they got it spot on!
It's a godzilla movie for sure, and I loved it too
I thought that was 2014 Godzilla
Not sure consistent behaviour can be termed "ironic."
Sure, but who said making a tribute to crap was a great idea? When you're doing a remake, you're supposed to only port-over the *good* stuff.
@@michaelccozens Except this isn't "crap". And they DID port over the good stuff.
@@Mac14329 Erm, did you read the original post? "Script that doesn't make sense, things resetting every twenty minutes, too many Human scenes and not enough Godzilla and other monsters fighting."
4:53 You forgot to mention how Gorosaurus was called Baragon because the Paris attack was meant to be by Baragon, but the Baragon suit was on loan to Tsuburaya Productions as Ultraman monsters. So they used Gorosaurus instead.
Actually thru had the suit back at the time, it was the ears that proved an issue.
Paper
The ears were the issue
And originally it was meant to ne maguma but the director hated that kaiju so they went with baragon but because the suit was in bad condition and the ears mite be damaged gorosaurus was chosen instead.
Me a few years ago: " Awwww. Rocket ships in a sci-fi movie that take off and land vertically."
How quaint."
SpaceX in 2020: "Hold our space beer."
The Delta Clipper was a NASA proof of concept vehicle twenty-five years ago or so that pioneered the same tech SpaceX is using now. It only had about a one-minute flight, but was a great big multi-motored test platform for what they expected to eventually replace the shuttle. SpaceX is just polishing up what NASA started. That's why NASA is still important. Private companies would never have put in the money to build it if someone else hadn't shown them how and made it profitable to do so.
@@DamnedSilly don't get me wrong. I have absolutely nothing but love, respect, and admiration for NASA. In fact, most of me wishes they could have continued their own pure space programs in the name of science rather than have to "compromise" with private companies like Boeing and Space X. I only used Space X because, well, they do seem to have nearly perfected the vertical landings that as noted in my OP just seemed so old-school sci-fi.
@@RikoJAmado I didn't think you had, I just figured you might have missed out on the story and thought I'd share. When I watched that Delta Clipper flight back in the day I thought it was about the coolest thing ever. A rocket that went straight up, strafed sideways and then could land again, upright. Just as God and Ray Bradbury intended. Maybe I got carried away. What SpaceX and the other companies are doing is great stuff. 30-40 years ago it was obvious commercial flights were the next step. Years from now it could well be commercial companies using the water detection tech NASA just showed off to make cement for structures on the moon. We already know the other ingredients are there and how to find them. How badass would that be?
You mean a rocket that exploded
Destroy All Censors!
I loved how people complained about the NEw Godzilla movies not showing the monsters much until the end.... AS IF it was different in the old Godzilla movies.
I know, right?
10:00 that old guy sounds like he's gonna die at any moment.
jp guy: Godzilla attacks new york
zilla: its you
GodZilla: its me goodbye
4:08 RODAN how are u not roaring in pain ANGUIRUS'S back is spiky ouch
Red Sail Rodan is pretty durable
He was already unconscious lol
Well Rodan has a spiky chest.
I'm surprised Ghidorah's feet survived that stomp, but on second viewing one of those feet landed on the vulnerable neck
Rodan is very durable. He has been able to survive many of godzillas atomic breath straight to the face and show barely any effect, has been able to survive ghidorahs gravity beams and also show barely any effect and has shown no effect to military weapons. So it makes sense he shows any effect to anguirus spike back
I am pretty sure baragon, manda, and varan were chilling in the background
I was talking about the final battle with king ghidorah
Baragon is a chump
Well Varon was to have a bigger role but the suit was badly rotted.
@@PaulHilburger Baragon was supposed originaly to attack Paris not Gorosaurus but it proved to be difficult to do the film so they went to Gorosaurus
Kyle Shiflet Maguma was supposed originaly to attack Paris Not baragon
The final battle is like the Cell Games, the important characters are fighting the big bad and the rest are just kinda.... chilling, knowing they can’t do shit.
That's it, I'm calling the newscaster here Jimmy Firecracker.
Mothra: Last time I fought Ghidorah he basically ...you'd...me.
Baragon: Last time I had a fight, I lost to Frankenstein, so still coming to terms with that one, really.
Kumonga: Long story short, we're basically just here for moral support
Rodan: I brought towels and water bottles!
Ghidorah: And like that you've already contributed more than Varan.
Does anyone else think that Gorosaurus is MVP for knocking Ghidorah down so the others could finish him off?
my favourite scene in 15:52. seriously this guy is very talented

YYYYYYYEEEERRRRRRRRREEEERRRRRRRRRRRRR
The monsters went attacking the major cities without getting a visa.
I laughed at the fight between Ghidorah vs the entire monsters.
The original Japanese DAM has one of the best opening credits in film. I rank it right up there with Star Wars, Close Encounters, Batman (1989), The Shining and the Japanese Godzilla (1954)
That's definitely a lineup I can get behind! 😎👍👍
Movie guy "It Ghidorah"
Brandon "Don't you Mean Ghidrah"
I could't stop laughing at that part.
Moses Hernandez one day you’ll it stop...one day they will all it stop...bwahaha
@The Gaming Dilophosaurus I know. Still funny tho.
The mispronunciations of Geidra had never stopped bothering me
@@jerkfudgewater147 I just could not stop laughing at it.
Man I prefer calling it Ghidorah cuz ghidra is not a good name in my opinion
This movie was my absolute favorite when I was a kid. Watching this brought me back to a simpler time when movies didnt have to make a like of sense to be great
A note about Geidra’s character: he always shows up to the fight even though victory seems unlikely. He never runs from the fight even when he is hopelessly out numbered and he fights to the end... really he’s the tragic hero of this series
Godzilla v Gigan has just entered the chat!
Who tf is Geidra

He’s the 3 headed dragon, they called him that back in the 90s
you mean ghidorah?
14:35 --- OMG! Tom Servo's become a LOST IN SPACE monster!
I love how he deliberately cut out the "But they were only attacked by one monster each while we're getting assaulted by four at once" line.
4:07 wow apparently Rodan and Anguirus are really close
I have a feeling Rodan flew towards Anguirus to protect him from the gas.
12:51
Why did that line make me laugh so hard
15:53 The music makes the fight so much better
15:11 that is manda and baragon
Another Fun Fact: The Mothra in this movie is one of the twin caterpillars which were the offspring of the original Mothra. The other caterpillar presumably died. Baragon was supposed to attack Paris, but the costume was damaged, so Gorosaurus was used instead. As for Varan, since this is his "first" appearance in this movie, he didn't join in the final fight and only a puppet was used. Manda didn't fight either.
But mothra was a moth the last time we saw it
Me:Wow I can’t believe he’s been in 20 movies
“But what about Godzilla 199-“
Me:NO! We do NOT speak of that travesty
Man, it sucks that we didn’t see Baragon fight with the others. I would’ve love to have seen him and Godzilla fire both of their heat beams at Ghidorah.
What did we learn here
Brandon really hates Minilla
He is a really shitty “monster”
Doesn't matter whether it's anime or a Toho movie, everyone has stormtrooper aim
Oh Godzilla, this dub is horrifying. Naturally, the original American International Pictures English dub is lost in rights limbo and has been replaced with a new dub done in Hong Kong. (Similar redubs are found on Godzilla vs Hedorah, vs Ebirah, and Son of Godzilla.)
The AIP dub of Destroy was included as an audio extra on Tokyo Shock's recent release but marred by noise and sync problems; the original AIP version--dub AND titles--was last seen on a 2003 Aussie DVD.
Andrew Hughes has a small but impressive list of roles in Japanese movies. Check out "Golden Bat - 1966" (subtitled) with Sonny Chiba for what might just be his wackiest movie ever! He really gets to chew the scenery in a twisted, campy superhero fest by the director of "Terror Under the Sea" and "Goke--Body Snatcher from Hell."
ScreamingScallop
Thank god HBO Max has the subbed version.
I've got the "illegal" releases if both Destroy All Monsters and Godzilla vs. Megalon. I enjoyed both!
16:47 Stop, stop, it's already dead!!!
all the kaiju dying and coming to life... you know mothra, kumonga, and angurius are part of a species right?
Well mothra is the same just reborn
So is rodan.
@@rorylumley4727 nah Rodan is a species, after the first 2 died new ones appeared throughout the series whenever they died due to plot and story purposes, also because Toho will not keep their heads out of their asses when it comes to backgrounds on reoccurring monsters 🤦🏽♂️
Rodan is part of a species too, in the 1956 movie he has a mate
Well mothra mostly just reincarnates herself
Fun Fact: The only monsters that weren't captured were King Kong, Megalon and Titanosaurus, assuming he survived.
Megalon and Titanosaurus don't appear until a few years after Destroy all Monsters came out. so they didn't exist yet.
Destroy All Monsters takes place in 1999 and they appear in the 70s
King ceaser?
@@ynorb9573 Which King Cesar are you referring to: the showa or Millennium version? If you're referring to the Millennium version, then YES! he was captured and controlled.

Brandon, you’re commentary is very funny, enormously entertaining. Thank you for creating this amazing body of substantial work.
So this is what was taking place in NYC in the year 1999.... but to find out what was happening in Chicago in 1999 you’ll have to watch CLASS OF 1999!!!!!

Do they have gangs that choose to wear uniforms?

Do they have Pam Greer with flamethrowers?

Its good to see your Destroy All Monsters review is back up.
that beat down was pretty much the Kaiju version of a gang initiation
The best part 16:07
"what? Mina gets the kill shot to one of Ghidorah's heads?" "BULLSHIT!"🤣
Dude, you're hilarious! Love how you package up some of my favorite childhood memories and slap your personal stamp of "honest disclosure" on it all! Lol!
What's your favorite Ghidroah?
Mines the 1964's origin but I like the 1991 design
MineTurtle Animations my favorit Ghidorah is Kaiser Ghidorah
That sums it up pretty well. I like the idea of the character being kind of a cross between Galactus (indescribably ancient planet-killer with god-like power), and Thanos (Sadistic monster with a lust for Death).
Teostratos L same
Im going with all those showa monsters. But its more cool playing PS4 Godzilla video game.
Mine's the GMK design.
Can you review Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack please.
Anthony Deline that's my fav
Anthony Deline He's going chronologically (kinda)
Gojirawars 03 well he skipped a lot tho
King Rexify True. But he only skipped once. He skipped over Godzilla's Revenge to Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla.
Gojirawars 03 Yeah he skipped like 4 movies
15:44 the best part
congrats on getting the review back up! :)
Doesn’t Mothra have her own island? One which she doesn’t leave all to often, why not just leave her there instead. Also how big is this island that they can contain ALL of the GIANT MONSTERS without them fighting each other?
and plus the twin fairies are dead in this movie.
05:11. Well, in that case, he should have been doing a Godzilla Victory Dance? XD
This was my first Godzilla movie. I remember watching it on the Scify channel when I was 3 years old. My parents ended up recording it to VHS along with Godzilla vs. Hedorah Godzilla versus Gigan and Godzilla versus Mechagodzilla. I rewatched those movies so many times. It's why I'm a fan of the series today.
I like to think that the guy who keeps appearing in most of the movies is Kenny from the future
I never understood why Mothra was captured and put in Monsterland, since she's supposed to be the protector of Infant Island. I'm assuming this might be another Mothra or maybe the Islanders were like "fuck Mothra" and left her there.
Yeah, that part makes no sense to me either. I guess Toho just wanted to put all the monsters they had in the movie and didn't give a damn whether it made sense or not. Would explain how Anguirus, Kumonga and Gorosaurus are there despite Anguirus and Kumonga being dead and Gorosaurus being from a separate universe to the showa Godzilla films.
Actually, I can kind of understand Anguirus and Kumonga being there, they're probably just different members of the same species, but Mothra still makes no sense.
