that's why I love Americans, always staying positive despite the awful weather
As much as we can. Cheers. Chris
Without the rain, the motherland wouldn't be green and lush. Yes, it's extremely annoying, especially after over fifty years, but I would still choose the cold over the heat. It's quite surprising to see the number of Americans who visit the UK and constantly complain about the cold or rain; fortunately, you don't fall into that category.
I agree that without the rain, things would not be as beautiful! We absolutely love it here, and we just get out and enjoy our time and dress appropriately. 🤍 Jess x
Jess Chris yet another brilliant tour and its so reassuring that our guests appreciate our country more than some people that live here! Sorry about the weather but then we wouldnt have such Green surroundings if we had just dry weather all the time! Thanks for sharing guys and take care!x
very true, honestly took me until my late 20's to even notice what was around me.
You know, we have to enjoy every moment. We have because of life is so short. We absolutely love this opportunity, and sharing it with you all it makes our hearts full of joy. We're not letting anyway, good or bad, hold us from having a good time ever. Thank you so much for your support! 🤍 Jess x
'Mad dogs & Englishmen' ......... there's something very magical about being on a beach in stormy weather. As the saying goes, there's no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothing, great that you didn't allow the rain to spoil your fun. 🇬🇧🤝🏻🇺🇸 👍🏻
Yes, the weather could have been better. But if we let that control what we did, we would miss out on so much. Cheers, Chris
I enjoyed that so much. I live in a big city but when our children were small we used go to visit my wife's auntie in Norwich and spent many a happy day in places like Cromer.
I love that you've caught on to the British habit of just ignoring the rain. And I love hearing your enthusiasm for things that I would probably never even think about.
By the way, you're not far from the village of Happisburgh. When people talk about the eccentric pronunciations of some British place names I always like to quote 'Happisburgh'. It's pronounced 'hayzboro'. Not even a Brit could guess that, you'd just have to know.
I'm so glad we could bring up your happy memories from visiting your wife's aunt in Norwich! We absolutely love that being able to just get out and not let any weather stop us from seizing the day. We absolutely love being here, and this opportunity we do not want it to pass us by. Thank you so much.I'm gonna look that little village up now. Thank you so much for sharing! 🤍 Jess x
We live in York and often go to the Cromer area for holidays...its really lovely, typical old English seaside towns...
Seems like quite the place to holiday. York is also on our list. Cheers, Chris
The old heritage Sheringham railway Station is how railways used to be. Well worth a visit if you time a trip on a steam train to Holt.
It sounds like something we would love to check out. Cheers, Chris
Awesome Jess, gotta love the British weather 😂. We whinge about it but deep down, we love our weather.
Nice meeting Axel, your beautiful dog ❤
When the sun starts shining, watch the Factor 10 tremor 😊
❤ from Northeast England ❤️
We are not complaining about it. Thanks for commenting and meeting Axel. Cheers, Chris
Rule number one, at the coast when it's raining, park, walk, eat, drink, when it's sunny you will struggle to park. In summer, warm rain, get wet, love it.
Great suggestion, we will consider that next time. Cheers, Chris
Hi Guys , love , love, loved this one Sheringham looks like a lovely seaside town , reminds me of my days out with my dear mum , you stired up some happy memories . 😊❤
I know, it definitely looked like a wonderful village to walk around. I can not wait to go back and catch a steam train! 🤍 Jess x
With nearly 70 million in the UK be thankful for the rain keeping it green and water in your taps: I remember 1976 and people having to fetch water in the street.
We are always thankful for the rain. It does keep everything green indeed. Cheers, Chris
Another relaxing and interesting journey, thanks for sharing. You mention Little Snoring. I see it has a mention in the Domesday Book in the year 1085. Name originates from the name of the leader of the settlers who's name was "Snare". Over the centuries the name slowly changes. Little because there is also Great Snoring. I found this happens when looking at place names how they change over the centuries on John Speed maps (1551 -1629). I have a "what if" model of a TSR2 aircraft in Little Snoring colours. Model based on 'If' RAF Little Snoring had continued to stay open as a military base and 'if' the TSR2 had gone into production although didn't happen but a possibility. I see from Google Earth they still have light aircraft flying from there. I know from where I use to work that Little Snoring is also mentioned in some training courses they had been on.
Glad you enjoyed the journey with us. great info about the RAF Little Snoring and the TSR2 AC. Gotta love the Google Earth, keeps getting more and more impressive. Cheers, Chris
Little and Great Snoring - great names. Come from a Saxon Tribe of Snear. The suffix ing denotes a tribal area.
Thanks for the background facts. Didn't know that, but much appreciated. Cheers, Chris
It's a beautiful day, you woke up to see it. I say this every day.
Aye, wake up not dead and you're laughing 😊
❤ from Northeast England ❤️
Great way to look at it. We share the thought process. Cheers, Chris
I love the crappy weather! I've had some really memorable holidays over here in the downpours! You always seem to remember them. Like when your discussing past holidays. "Do you remember when we got absolutely soaked to the skin but we just laughed it off and had a great time". Stuff like that. Yes I can always remember the crappy holidays in the pouring rain ☔ and laugh at them as I look back!
I absolutely love the rain. It brings such beauty with it! This thing here has made us truly slow down and enjoy every moment we have. I agree that the rain can help make a memory that will last a lifetime. We truly appreciate you coming along with us and enjoying our rides and adventures. 🤍 Jess x
It has been a really bad, rainy weathere here this Summer , but you two are really accepting and keep driving to lovely places. Thankyou so much, love from London ❤❤
Oh, understand, but we definitely take our time to appreciate the good weather and then not so nice weather. We don't let time pass us by enjoy every moment. 🤍 Jess x
jess and chris did you enjoy your drive around the part of norfolk where i live and you drove through bodham where i was born and bred.
i now live in cromer and the church is right in the centre of town and in the last 30 seconds of the video you drove past the care home where i live i have parkinson's
We for sure enjoyed our drive throughout your part of Norfolk. We truly enjoyed it. You live in a lovely area. We are sorry to hear about you having Parkinson's, hopefully they do a good job taking care of you there. Cheers, Chris
@@DaydreamersBarn yes they do and on the video as you go through cromer town crntre on the right side of the street you will see a red mobility scooter that is mine so pased me that day as well
Yes Jess, we are a beautiful country - and you and your family only add to that beauty. Keep those vids coming.
Thank you friend for your kind words. We do our best to give back what we can. We will keep the videos coming for sure. 🤍 Jess x
My favourite place on the planet. Check out Wells next the Sea . The beach at Sheringham is awesome and even when it's crowded you still don't feel hemmed in and the fish and chips are sublime. Try the coast road from Sheringham to Wells and visit the windmill at Cley.
Great suggestions. We will look into them next time where are in that area. Cheers, Chris
I love your attitude of 'embracing' what you find around you. I lived in West Wales for eight years. It's renowned for it's rather high rainfall. However, the rain brings with it a particular beauty that it is difficult not to appreciate, once you accept it. All you have to do is to remember to dress appropriately and not let the rain stop you getting out.
One thing that confused me was the word 'snorking' that you used. I had to google it and it came up with some rather risqué colloquial uses of the word, none of which I had ever heard 🤔. I now have a new word in my vocabulary. How, and when, to use it will need some thought, though.
I live in Sussex now and there are many rural roads which are, in fact, green tunnels - completely overshadowed by the trees growing from the sides of the road into the middle. At this time of year, especially, they are a delight and are a great haven for all kinds of wildlife.
We love embracing our beautiful surroundings. We definitely have learned to dress appropriately and bring an umbrella.
I hope you're able to use the word.. You would have to come back and let me know if you were able to use the word.
Thank you for your lovely comment! 🤍 Jess x
Lovely. This summer has been awful so far, same as last year. What is happening with our weather! The last couple of days have been nice, so hopefully we will get a summer at last🤞
Global warming they said, get used to a Mediterranean climate they said, oh, and you're all going to get skin cancer they said. Now they have quietly dropped the "global warming" thing, and they call it climate change. And if things don't suit, they say, "weather isn't climate" - until there is a hot week and a moorland fire, then it goes back to global warming.
The last couple of days have been so amazing! I'm very excited about this weekend. We're just enjoying the time we have here. 🤍 Jess x
Oh! to be in England in the summertime!
It is a great time. Cheers, Chris
That dull, rainy video is just what I need. Been cycling, and in Sheffield we are having a hot and humid start to the day, which can be a challenge on the bike - Sheffield is very hilly. However, coffee in hand I have just loaded your latest video, and instantly cooled down upon seeing that wonderful grey and wet scene - with the prospect of a mystery ride with you. Cheers ! Love your company. PS Love your little dog !
We are glad that it was just what you needed. It was a nice ride with some great company, Axel as well. Cheers, Chris
Hi Jess, Chris, Colette and Shane , firstly my belated Birthday wishes for you Jess I hope you have a wonderful day
Passed through the village of Little Snoring many moons ago so this was a lovely memory refresher for me 😊. I tried a steam train ride recently and all I can say is Jess that if you get the chance please take it as you won't regret it.
Thank you for this wonderful tour of Cromer and surrounding villages and please can I wish you a lovely Friday and it looks like it's going to be a hot one.☀️.
Take care my friends.xx ❤️
Hello Stephen,
Thank you for the birthday wishes. We're celebrating my birthday this weekend, crossing off one of my UK bucket list items! I'm so excited we will be taking you all along with us.
We absolutely love going through such spectacular villages. I'm so glad our lovely drive brought back some nice memories for you.
The Steam Train has been added to our list of things to do.
I'm very excited about the weather today!
Thank you so much for sharing and the birthday wishes! 🤍 Jess, Chris, and Kiddos x
Great little drive out guy's 👍Lucky, as we're retired.
Nice day today and tomorrow, so we're off to the coast either, Suffolk Aldeburgh or Frinton/Maldon Essex
I hope you all enjoy your time. It is a lovely weekend! Thank you so very much. We're so glad you were able to come along with us. 🤍 Jess x
I've just come out of hospital after a pretty nasty heart attack two weeks ago & watching this is the first time i've smiled all week. Thankyou guys!
Oh, friend. You're in our thoughts. We're so happy you're back home and could smile. We're sending you good healing vibes! 🤍 Jess & Family x
It's hard to see it all.
Just in Little Snoring there's St Andrew's Church, a Medieval flint church! My dad took me there as a kid, it's like traveling back 1,000 years!
I live in North Cambs and used to drive around Norfolk for jollies. It's very pretty and every corner has new surprises.
How lovely. We will have to stop and see the church. Thank you for the recommendation.
I agree with you about Norfolk or anywhere here in England. Around every corner their is there is something wonderful and new to explore. 🤍 Jess x
I Looked up and thought I know that road, it's Sheringham, there is a Tattooist with a rather nice Harley and then you passed a church where I drove a family to for a wedding, I remember that trip so well, beautiful sunshine until we got halfway back to Melton Mowbray, then the heavens opened, one of the few times I have stopped because it was too dangerous because the windscreen wiper wouldn't clear the rain !!
Thank you for sharing your memory of your time driving family to a wedding. I'm so glad you were OK even with the wipers not clearing the rain fall. 🤍 Jess x
When it rains a lot, it does make you appreciate the sunny days, i wouldn't change our British weather for anything.😊
You are completely correct. Cheers, Chris
Cromer 🦀🚂there and back again 🚂 choo choo.
Right! Can't wait to return. 🤍 Jess x
Thank you for that wonderful drive
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for your time watching. 🤍 Jess x
Definitely a steam train video
We are looking for that currently. Cheers, Chris
Back in the 80s there used to be a Mr Gotobed listed in the old telephone directory with a Little Snoring telephone number.
You could have gone from Holt to Sheringham on a steam train 🚂
Back in the day of phone books, the younger generation doesn't know about those. We have thought about doing the steam train, maybe next time. Cheers, Chris
The rain is "typical"
Well, not all the time this weekend looks lovely. Altho it does help make everything go beautiful here. 🤍 Jess x
lovely and sunny here today in the peak district
We're looking forward to enjoying the Peak district soon! 🤍 Jess x
Well, we can't have green without rain. 😊Steam train rides are always enjoyable. There are plenty in the UK.
Fair point on both. Cheers, Chris
Britain where nothing stops for rain but get a few inches of snow and everything grinds to a halt.

I always get quite emotional when seeing our beautiful beloved county of Norfolk... This has been my families holiday playground for well over fifty years now... But sadly some of my family are no longer here with us... So it's quite emotional for me... Seeing the places that are so much part of the happiest times in our lives... Whether it's raining or it's sunny... I love Norfolk... I always have... And i always will... Thank you Chris & Jess... You've triggered some wonderfully happy family holiday memories guys... If you have the time... There's a channel on here that highlights some of the wonderful places to visit in the UK... It's called... Gimbal Walk TV... And the guy recording the videos... Has quite a few excellent ones highlighting Norfolk... Which may give you guys a few ideas about where to visit in Norfolk itself... So have a look if you're interested... 👍 All the very best Chris & Jess... Cheers. 🍺
We are glad to be able to bring you back. It sounds like it brings back some really great memories and we are happy to be able to help you out with that. We have lived here for almost 2 years and can see why you love it so much. We will check out the channel you suggested. It is always nice to be able to check out things more off the main path. It helps us connect that much more to the area and country. Cheers, Chris

its been a dreadful summer weatherwise hope it picks up soon
This end of the week and into the weekend looks quite beautiful! Hopefully, you have a BBQ planned. 🤍 Jess x
Another lovely video! The purple trees are Copper Beech.
I am so glad you love it, and thank you so much for sharing the tree name with me! I absolutely love it!! 🤍 Jess x
Love Holt .
@@JeanBodieI agree with you. It was a beautiful village! Can't wait to return. 🤍 Jess x
Lovely video again. Thank you. I’ve been along that coast road from Hunstanton for years and years which is a lovely trip through Brancaster etc. if you’ve not done that road it’s wonderful villages you go through. I was lucky enough to work doing surveys for HM Land Registry all over Norfolk. Loved the driving, surveys……… ?well I had to do them😂
Sounds like a great place to check out. Next time we are that way we will try and check that out. Cheers, Chris
Hi Folks! On your travels have you encountered the tree-trimming machines?
Like overgrown hedge-trimmers, driving along one side of the road and cutting back the branches and foliage just enough for lorries and buses to get through.
We have seen many. It is something that takes a little care to pass. Cheers, Chris
Yes deffo go for the steam train ride. I was going to ask about your wish to hire a canal boat etc, but it would be stupid prices at this time of the year, so I still hope it's on your bucket-list. Wait till early Autumn. Love these car 'rambles', must give many people ideas. Love yer all!
We will keep the steam train ride on the list. We are also working on the canal boat too. More to follow...Cheers, Chris
Some years ago we visited Sheringham by train and bought some small lattice meat pies from a shop called Crask's, to eat on the beach and we bought a bottle of red wine to drink. The beach was stony and the weather was similar to this but we really enjoyed our pic-nic. I wonder if Crask's still exists. We also bought some copper pans from an antique shop not far from Crask's. It was interesting to look around that Aladdin's cave.
When we go back , I will check to see if it is still open! We will pop in and grab something if it is. Thank you for sharing that lovely memory with us. 🤍 Jess x
@@DaydreamersBarn I understand it was at 36 High St and was spelt 'Craske's' but it may no longer exist.
@heliotropezzz333 totally understands, but we will look. Maybe it is... 🤍 Jess x
Hi jess and Chris! If you ever get up to North Yorkshire you need to visit Whitby and Whitby Abbey on the Yorkshire coast. It's also the inspiration for bram stokers Dracula and the best fish and chips.
Sounds like a great recommendation. We will try and see about that one. Cheers, Chris
I went to Cromer and caught Crabs, great times
Sorry about that.😂

27:40 - I love Norfolk's flint churches.
I hope you get to Burnham Market, that place is very pretty. [ and rich ]
Lovely recommendation! Will add that to our list of places to see. 🤍 Jess x
Hi guys, me again! 🙂
05:19 The sign of the deer in a red triangle is a generic one to be aware that there may be wild animals on the road. When a particular animal is involved, wild ponies on Dartmoor for example, a representation of that one will be used.
14:59 "The juice is worth the squeeze". I haven't heard that expression before but, trust me, at the next available opportunity I will be using it in conversation. 😜
I just love the way that you two get so excited by the sea. Nowhere in the British Isles is more than 70 miles from the sea so we are pretty used to seeing it every now and again. I found out that the North American pole of inaccessibility - (distant from ocean access) is at 43°22′N 101°58′W, about 11 miles (18 km) southeast of the town of Kyle, on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, in Bennett County, South Dakota, 1,025 miles (1,650 km) from the nearest coastline, over 14 times as far!😶
Great video (despite the dratted rain!). More please!! 👍
I'm so glad you enjoy our excitement. We absolutely love our experiences here and do not want to let an opportunity pass us by.
I (Jess) really hope you're able to use the juice is worth the squeeze whenever you can. I have so many funny things that I could make just a video of all the weird and wacky things I say.... maybe a great video.. 😂
We are so glad that you were able to come along with us for this rainy adventure!
🤍 Jess x
Great video guys and cute little dog. Norfolk sure is a beautiful part of the world. It's the rain that keeps the UK so green and lush. I quite like going for country drives when it is a bit wet as the air feels more fresh to breathe. Also, you can smell all the surrounding greenery more when it is rainy. Yes, steam train video please! By the way Jess, the name of the deer with the red nose on that sign you and Chris passed is 'Rudolf.' 🦌
It is beautiful indeed. The drive was enjoyable for us even with the rain, almost like a mini reset. We will look into the steam train video. Cheers, Chris
I enjoyed my ride out, I've never been to Cromer, you must come to Manchester and the surrounding areas and the Peak district which I'm sure you'll enjoy
Glad we could bring you along the ride. We have both Manchester and the Peak District on the list of must see areas. Cheers, Chris
Visited the steam engine museum and Cromer Church back in 1995 when parking was not an issue. Worth doing for the technology and the views, respectively.
I appreciate your recommendation. I will look into that! 🤍 Jess x
If you don't want to say 'gas' station or 'petrol' station, then try 'filling' station because technically that's what they are in the UK.
That is a valid point. Cheers, Chris
I guess it's strange for Americans seeing different sorts of architecture and driving along roads and streets much narrower than what they're used to.
It is different but we do enjoy it. Cheers, Chris
dogs in cars are supposed to be in their own seatbelt clamp and harness, it can be a big fine and points on your licence.

Some great fish and chips in Sheringham
Fabulous! Thank you for your insight. 🤍 Jess x
Just a cautionary word about taking the dog in the car with you Jess (if you do). English law requires an animal being carried in a car to be tethered. It must not be free to move around anywhere inside the car. And yes, we get our share of rain here in England, but it need not prevent you having a day out....
and they dont allow you to leave them in carparks either, so many died in hot cars.
We appreciate the info for traveling with dogs. He was good to go. We also understand the carpark issues too. Thanks for the heads up. Cheers, Chris
Wow parking in Cromer, a Victorian watering hole. If you had turned left at the lights, near the restaurant you would be heading towards my home.
It was quite a nice trip, but not as busy as it normally is, glad we were able to check out your area. It is lovely, we truly enjoyed it. Cheers, Chris
hi guys, this year has been pretty bad for rain . For a lot of people, getting out and about helps them to unwind from a week of hard work . would you ever consider making seperate videos of your dogs i would love to see more of them and their names i only know Axel .
Well we truly enjoyed it regardless of the rain. We would consider doing something like that for the dogs if there was interest in it. We love them and they are part of the family. Cheers, Chris
The blue car that overtook you looked like an AUDI, it's what they do I'm afraid - they don't seem able to help themselves.
The car you had to overtake because he was unloading in the middle of the road was also an AUDI, I refer to my earlier answer - need I say more?
We have owned many many different cars throughout the years, never an Audi. Maybe that is a good personality trait, lol. Cheers, Chris
Hiya. I know the season for it is March to July, depending on the weather, after which it's Lobster, and July is nearly out now, but did you obtain or try any of the world famous Cromer Crab? Famous the world over as the greatest of all Brown Crab, its meat is amazingly sweet and delicate. Thumbs up for the steam train, btw, investigate the many options. Stay safe. All the best to you.
No , unfortunately , we did not get any famous Cromer Crab... Definitely will be! Thanks for sharing with us. 🤍 Jess x
The rain is good for the fish in the rivers but not too much 😊
💯 agree! 🤍 Jess x
Shame about the weather but it is getting better this next few days.
Yes Sheringham and Cromer are worth revisiting in nicer weather.
I don't know if you do any planning but do a little research and you will find them interesting little towns to visit on foot. Plenty of shops and if the weather is better the atmosphere will be much happier with people around and shops open.
We are still just out of the main holiday season so they will be a little quieter.
They are what I would call old fashioned seaside resorts without all the lights and noise as in Gt Yarmouth.
You might also visit the Suffolk coast eg Aldburgh and also visit the old wartime and nuclear bomb facilities now abandoned.
Hopefully we are able to make it back and enjoy all that it has to offer. Sounds like it is quite the time. Thanks for the comment and suggestions of other places to check out. Cheers, Chris
I have a rustic complection not because of the sun but due the all the rain we have in the UK.

Lovely weather. Holt is a Georgian Town, frequented by the Royals when in Sandringham. The school, on the right is Gresham's, a public school. Mr Dyson of vacuum fame attended there. (Public schools are fee paying to the public, if you can afford it!). You are in my neck of the woods. Holt is difficult to find parking. The train in Sheringham runs to Holt, keep intending to go on it, never have. A friend used to own the White Horse in East Runton.

North Norfolk coast is lovely but some parts of it get overwhelmed by visitors or second-homers (eg Brancaster, or Kensington-on-Sea). Have you been to Southwold or Aldburgh in Suffolk yet?
We can imagine that they can easily be overran with visitors and second-homers. It actually made it nice being a little rainy, less foot traffic. We have not made it to those, but thanks for the suggestions. Cheers, Chris

Try Northumberland, less English folk have been there, everyone knows Norfolk, East Anglia as whole. Why not show them what they've been missing ?
