This is a true Dixieland Band. One of the greatest of all time. I bought this album in the sixties while in high school and still have it. If you're a musician as I am you're in for a treat with this album. Has the great Eddie Miller on tenor sax. Great arrangements and musicians.

Many of these musicians never got the big gigs. Matlock(clarinet) and Eddie Miller(Sax) never got the exposure like Chicagoans Peewee Russell(clarinet) or Bud Freeman(Sax). Abe Lincoln here on trombone had a very different wide open attack than Teagarden. Nappy Lamare was every bit as good a guitar as Condon except when Condon was somewhat sober!! But these guys were every bit among the greats!! Nobody could match Krupa on drums but Ray Bauduc came close. So the Kentuckians stand as giants of the golden era of hot integrative ensemble Jass!!

  • @TheWorldOfBudgetVinylRecords

It's impressive they got almost 45 minutes of stereo in the late 1950s on a single record.

Clyde has more 'sweet' and tail end shakes.
Man he just swung, I'm so happy to have learned about him.
