It never ceases to amaze me how these videos looks so low quality but in those times watching them on TV they didn't seem so bad
Camera quality has improved so much since the SDTV era.
Yeah but many of these would have been recorded off the tv onto Beta or VHS tapes, both renowned for deteriorating quickly quality wise. The original footage whilst still not HD, would be far better than what we see on YT.
@@KennyTC63 I was also going mention that but not as well as you just did. 😅
True.

“The crowd will tell you what happens” is one of the greatest calls of all time. Love how the announcer doesn’t have to say anything and just lets you enjoy the moment
when?
Ian On in this video
Ian On the literal first video cmon bruh
That was Joe Garagiola who made that call. He was a ball player and understood the significance of such an event. However, poll every single Phillie fan and each one of them to a person would tell you that they would have given anything to hear Harry Kalas and Richie Ashburn finally get to call a Phillies World Series win. Due to broadcast rules at the time only the network was allowed to have their announcers. Sadly Richie Ashburn was gone by the time the Phils won in 2008 but Harry got to make the call...then he passed away early the next season.
I noticed that it was the only time the play-by-play guy kept his yapper shut. I would have sworn it happened more often/more recently.
I’m not a baseball fan myself but this video made me cry twice:

@fooloof I'm not saying it's Vin, but he worked national post-season games, too. He even worked other sports occasionally.
It’s amazing to see how often teams repeat going to the series. Even if they don’t win. It’s a testament to how good their team is.
You're right. I forgot how many times the Cardinals made it, till I watched this.
Indians giving everyone World Series but themselves lol
Ouch
That’s a fact
FScorpion678 as an Indians fan, I am sad.
Oh Shit I noticed that too, Dam you got me cracking up
watch them win this year then everyone will say it doesn’t count
That’s what I love about baseball, you can’t just run out the clock, you gotta beat make outs until you win. That’s why each of these plays a special and different in their own way.
The 1991 World Series was the most gut wrenching, nail biting series ever. The best World Series EVER. Puckett hitting a HR in extra innings to force Game 7 and then Game 7 won in the 10th inning 1-0. John Smoltz and Jack Morris both pitched incredible with Morris pitching 10 shutout innings. Think that would ever happen today?
Nah I think it was 2016 both Indians had long championship droughts with Cubs not winning a World Series since 1908 and Indians not winning won since 1948 with both fighting up to a game 7 and the whole series was filled with nail bitting innings especially that game 6 Cubs fans could have gotten a heart attack because that game was filled with them taking the lead to losing the lead late to them coming back Cubs took the lead then lost it late when rajai Davis homered when aroldis champman was pitching to them tying late and then Ben zobrist hit a RBI double in the 10th inning to take the lead late and when the Cubs had one more out to go the Indians already had a man on base so if they homered the Indians would have won that simple it was the bottom of the 10th inning so the Indians could have won right there but it was a groundball and the Cubs win for the first time in 108 years
2016 still gives me chills and will forever do so. Pure elation.
Same. Go Cubs!
As a Cardinals fan I agree
I love how in the 80s fans were able to storm the field and join in the celebration
They don't want psycho fans to have the opportunity to hurt their players. It's a safety thing .🤷
Ya it makes the celi
Look better
They stopped letting fans run onto the field around the time that baseball players started earning millions. Up until the 1980s, the players were poor and had to take a second job to make ends meet. You would see them working at car dealerships or something. They were regular guys. Once they got rich, they separated from society and approaching them became taboo.
Security has tighten since then because of all the shootings and shit it happened in the nba too

I'll bet that Joe Carter has not had to buy a drink in Toronto for the last 25 years...
Or pay for a meal
Or buy clothes or a car, for that matter. I'll bet he could have just about any unmarried grown woman he wants, too.
I was at the dome for both times they won. The first was on the jumbo Tron because the game was in Atlanta but it was a wild celebration. 2 million ppl on the streets of Toronto
i can confirm that Joe Carter has had basically everything he’s ever wanted in Toronto comped.
I was watching on TV, and had a VHS tape in the VCR (remember those?) and started recording when JC came to bat. My old house was totaled due to plumbing issues last January and my VCR didn't work, either, but it's nice to know I can watch this anytime I want.

But man, that 2001 D-Backs/Yankees matchup was one of the best World Series I have ever seen. What a series.

Idk taking 3 in 5 years is insane
"Touch em' all Joe, you'll never hit a bigger homerun in your life." - One of the best quotes in baseball
The resilience of the Kansas City Royals to win the 2015 World Series after coming up a game short in 2014 was great to see
And we can't forget the Angels won it all in 2002 after numerous heart break losses, every time, 79 Orioles, 83 Brewers, 86 Red Sox. Then had to get by the most prolific homerun hitter perhaps of all time, Barry Bonds. Poetic, thanks Bobby!!! The Cowboy was singing that day!!!

Also, in '87, while it's true that the Twins won their first World Series, they'd previously won a World Series in 1924 when they were the first version of the Washington Senators. The second version of the Senators is now the Texas Rangers. '87 was the only year that the home team never batted in the ninth, and the first of three, the other two being 1991 and 2001, that the home team won every game. Thanks for this clip!
Also both 1924 and 1991 were the only World Series with game 7 going into extra innings.
It seems I knew those two things, but had forgotten. All I knew was that the home team won game 7 both times (literally) in the last at-bat. Interestingly the Twins are the reincarnation of the first version of the Washington Senators, the second being the Texas Rangers.
This clip shows me so many players I was unaware had won WS rings.
Crazy. I was at one of the home games in Philly as a kid in '93. I still have nightmares about that Joe Carter walk off. Insane Coletrane Hamels, Pat the Bat, the Flyin' Hawaiian, J-Roll, Lights out Lidge and the rest redeemed us in '08
Meanwhile in Seattle.....😥
As a Dodger's fan I'm really glad this video doesn't include the last two World Series'. Lol.
As an Indian's fan, 2016 didn't exist.
Lol
Why do you have an apostrophe in Dodger's? You aren't a possession of the Dodgers. You are a Dodgers fan.
2005 Chicago White Sox. 11-1 post season. First place all season. 4 straight complete game postseason victories for the pitchers. Unappreciated domination
John Conte i always wondered why the 2005 World Series was so forgotten. You never see any highlights from that postseason
And one horrendous call as the game ender. Safe by a whole step and the ump was ready to go home.
Wasn’t that Edgar Renteria who got the game-winning hit in the ‘97 WS for the Marlins? If so, he got the go-ahead HR in the WS clincher for the Giants in 2010. Dude’s clutch!
I hope we're doing this next week.
LET'S GO NATS!
Nats vs Astros
Astros are gonna win
Bro go Astros yall are so fucking screwed
@@isaacnewell8734 who's screwed?
6:28 when you THOUGHT you made it
This is one of the coolest vids on youtube imo
I may be an Astros fan, but the Royals victory in 2015 will always be special to me because I got to to Kansas City that very same year a few months later.
2004 Red Sox and 2016 Cubs were the biggest.
and the 1998 yankees
2004 alcs was more exciting than the WS.
@kyndakrazy Indians fan?
2005 was.
Jon Stefanik and the cubs choked the other to the rockies.😂
"The Twins are gonna win the World Series! The Twins have won it!" Man, oh man, Joe Buck will never call a game like his old man.
He wouldn't had a job if it weren't for his old man. RIP Jack.
I am a Giants fan and winning 3 WS series in 5 years was of the charts. The only down side was we had to listen to Joe Buck instead of Kruk & Kuip.
Dan Myers I am a cubs fan we have to deal with him every game so
Not TheOoferManiac I’ll give him the 16 win for you guys. That was a call if I ever heard one, one of his rare times he does one. That, the Sox win at Finway, their first win in 04.
@@danmyers9372 i watched the game and tuned in KNBR. i hate Joe Buck.
Royals fan here. Awesome redemption for losing game 7 in '14,to winning it in '15!!! Love KC!!!
Would've won both but in '14 Royals got BUMGARNER'D
Gracias por el video.. Esto me trajo unas memorias maravillosas
