      (USCG Lieu Tenant)Buddy Ebsen was the original tinman. The makeup made him very ill. He is in some of the longshots of them dancing.

    I live near Beech Mountain. The theme park reopened this past September for a couple of weekends for the public. It closed down due to bad investments and vandalism in the 80s. App State has a museum with some of the props from the theme park which is really cool. ❤

    i knew immediately the tin man was nipsey because i recognize nipseys voice anywhere. I thought it was number 3 but johnny sure fooled me

    I had the best house mother, Mom Albers, though just in a girls dorm. So if anyone reading this recognizes that name, she’ll surely know in which dorm from which small Christian college I resided.

    9:58--Johnny Olson was known for graciously acknowledging the staff and the crews of the programs he worked when he did the studio audience warm-ups before the show.
    Notice how Olson credited Roger Peterson, an associate producer on "To Tell the Truth," for wearing the Cowardly Lion costume before the first commercial break.

      Yes..Nipsey(God rest his soul)Did played "The Tin Man"in the movie version of"The Wiz"..years after he played this beloved character on this syndicated version of"To Tell The Truth".

    Tom Poston studied for and passed his NASD exam, becoming a broker. In addition, he continued his NYC acting career doing plays and TV.After transferring to LA in 1975, he became so busy with TV,film,and theater; he had no time to utilize his license!

    I read that this Land of Oz is still kept up although some of the land was sold for a housing development.

      Part of the yellow brick road is still there but the rest is sadly long gone. I visited the park when it was still open when I was 7.

      The only part still there is a small portion of the yellow brick road. They make it completely available once a year at the festival.

      True, it actually did happen. In the 1990-91 version, Rip Taylor and Christopher Hewett were the impostors in one game. They were dressed as Santa Claus.'
