GSW has gone full circle, from a 3 point shooting team to a team that dominates the paint, excellent ball movement. I don't know about other teams but for me GSW is the definition of the current NBA.

Warriors fan here. Mavs shouldâve won last night. Hands down. The 3s stopped raining and they stopped making the easier shots. Only scored 13pts in Q3. GSW made easy shots in the paint and under the rim in the 2nd half. They scored 43 in Q4 alone! Yeah 3s helped, but they had the easy shots driving through the paint. This series is gonna go to at least 6 I think. But I believe that GSW is gonna win the west.
No reason to blow a 19pt lead. Coming back down 2-0 isnât going to be easy at all against this team.
Don't underestimate the heart of a champion!

The warriors defense had such a clear shift between the first and second half. They allowed the Mavs open 3âs with no resistance in the first half, but right at the start of the 3rd quarter there was a clear focus and urgency. Every shot was contested and help d was always there.
I disagree. The Mavs got wide open 3s the first 6 mins of the 3rd. Brunson hit one but that's it, they missed all the rest.

-Lacob and Myers have already shown they're willing to pay big money to remain competitive. They'll have to make some tough calls in 2-3 years, but they have more flexibility than you think.
-Curry will be 38 when his contract ends. Yes he'll be making almost 60 million in the final year but in the 2-3 years until then, he'll be worth it to slightly overpaid depending on how he ages.
-Looney may want more money, true. And he's earned that raise. I don't foresee another team throwing him much more than say 10-15 mill a year. The Warriors and him will likely come to an agreement.
-Porter was never a long term prospect; he's in a mutually beneficial situation where he signs on for a year to a contender at the vet minimum and provides his services, while the team allows him to show he can stay healthy and contribute to winning, allowing him to secure a bag elsewhere the next year.
-Kuminga's extension isn't mandatory until 2025/26, a year after Klay and Dray's contracts have expired, 2 years after Wiggin's has expired. The front office will have to make some tough calls then, yes. But by that point they will likely know who they prefer to invest in.
Will the Warriors keep 100% of this team? No. But this team only has 4 players from that original nucleus in 2015 (1 being Iggy who isn't even playing rn), and they're still trucking along. They know how to retool. They'll be fine.
When Warriors win the championship this year, it will show more how weak KD move was even more.. An it will also show Durant can't win without Steph.
Steph may also slowly pass Durant overall also as as player when they past primes an both retire which I hope is no time soon.

The ability to not shoot the 3 when you have so many great shooters is a big reason why I had GS as my favorite to win all year. Teams are so obsessed with the 3 and we are seeing teams shooting insane amounts this year and for most of them if they dont hit the 3's then they lose.
The irony, shows how far ahead they are of everyone else as an organization. Everyone thinks they win because they shoot 3s, but it's their ability to find the opponent's weakness and adapt endlessly.

The difference is GSW gets their 3's from driving & getting touch fouls for and ones. Then knowing the opponent is frustrated they set moving picks (nevrholdong a set screen position) then they start busting 3's.

To use boxing to describe this game. Warriors kept pounding the Mavs with jabs (2s) and uppercuts (3s). Mavs kept throwing haymakers and the Warriors were on the ropes so they played rope a dope. Warriors withstood the onslaught and kept the jabs going to get back into the fight and threw the haymakers at the end to win the fight when they had the Mavs on the ropes.
Warriors aren't serious until the 3rd anyways. Teams be counting the dub too early

Problem for the Mavs wasn't scoring, though that slowed in the 2nd half the problem was they didn't defend well enough and allowed countless offensive rebounds which lead to 2nd chance points
@@dwanadoni they scored 72 in the first half and 45 in the second so scoring was part of the problem. They made 15 3s in the first half, only 6 in the second. They regressed in the second half shooting wise. Golden State is a great shooting team but they will still score if the 3pt shot isnt falling. They had 62 points in the paint which means they were still getting to the basket. Dallas lives and dies by the 3. If it falls its a blowout (like it did in game 7 vs PHO) they win, if it doesnt they are in trouble.
62 points in The paint isn't getting the respect deserved. Klay was blowing past rotations. If you can't play defense it doesn't matter how many 3s shot. 40 plus percent isn't enough to counter easy high percentage 2 pointers. Dallas has to tighten that interior defense or they will bounce themselves outta this wcf.

amazing to see the ebbs and flows in the series cos the first two games are always seemingly GSW wins. this is a classic GSW game 2 where you show the other team that you can come back from ANY deficit. Dallas probably wins game 3 but i bet you see a lot more nervous mavericks in the 4th quarters for the rest of the series. HUGE mental edge for the dubs
I feel like in order for mavs to beat GS in game 3, they have to be up by 20 to 30pts until the 4th because golden state is a 2nd half team, u canât have a lead within arms reach or theyâll always find a way to come back
Like the WCF with the Rockets in 2018, the Rockets were up 3-2, and in game 6, the Rockets had an 18 point lead in the 1st qtr and the Warriors won in a blowout. In game 7, the Rockets had a 16 point lead in the 2nd qtr. Youâre going to need a bigger cushion than that. This team is similar to the 2018 team. You need to blowout the Warriors. If itâs a close game, Steph and the Warriors will find a way to win.

Dalles played some trick offense double screens or something. to keep the ark clear for 3's. The Dobs figured it out in the 2nd half. The Dallas defense were pressing GSW at the ark that gave Looney the opportunity to own the paint

Dinwiddie, Finney-Smith, Bullock, and Powell are WAY too inconsistent and just arenât fucking good enough. Playoff averages for those players: Dinwiddie 13, Finney 11, Bullock 10 and Powell 9. Thatâs just not gonna get it done in a 7 game series against this warriors team.
