The car's Owner is Norm Vander Veen. Norm’s had this car since 1976. Norm shares he purchased this car in 1976 with 46,000 miles on it. Today this “survivor” has under 64,000 original miles. Rare to see this one out on the road, but today we take a ride in his car.

Hi, Lou.....There is nothing as pretty as a Mopar survivor. Rotisserie cars are " like new" and picked apart for a trophy. Survivor cars are appreciated for making it all these years with a nick or a scratch and as far as I am concerned, worth their weight in gold ! Thank you for showing us another great one !
Hi Charlie....I agree, there is something interesting with a survivor story :-) My pleasure sharing this one with you. You're welcome, Lou
What a sweet looking Mopar! That 1970 Dodge challenger T/A Trabs Am 340 Six Pack equipped with a 4-speed transmission is a real gem! These are cars you rarely see on the road. You sure know how to find these rare gems Lou!
Hi Michael, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this Mopar :-) My pleasure sharing this "rare gem" with you, Lou
What a great Survivor and he still has the jacket, too! I think the interior & exterior colors look good together. They're a little more subtle, but just looking at that 4 speed or under the hood tells you how wild it can get. Thanks, Lou!
Hi TheGunfighter45acp, Hmmm, I guess the jacket is a survivor too :-) I agree, the 4 speed makes it special. My pleasure sharing with you. You're welcome, Lou
Those high impact colors were an option over the standard ones. Those T/A's were pricey enough because it was a limted run in '70.
Hey @Lou - amazing combo - 6 pak - 340 - 4 speed - must have been a blast to ride in- have an excellent Tuesday!
Hey @Peter - A good ride for sure on a sunny day making it wonderful to share with you :-) Wishing you and excellent Tuesday too! Lou
beautiful! whoever spec'd the color combo did a great job, good taste!
Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-)
Very nice Challenger! Gotta love survivors.
Thanks as always Lou.
Hi Jeff, You're right, the "survivors" have a good story :-) My pleasure, and you're welcome, Lou
The 340 Six Pack giant killer. Making over 350 HP from the factory. Put a set of headers on it and make over 370 HP. It is a high revving screamer of an engine.
Hi Steve, Happy to share this "high revving screamer" with you :-) Lou
Thanks once again for posting another excellent Mopar video, Lou! The '70 Dodge Challenger T/A is one sharp looking Mopar!!
Happy to share this "excellent Mopar" with you JackFlemingFan :-)
Back in 1969, a friend of mind bought a new, 69Dodge Dart GTS, 340 4bbl 4speed. That car was swift!...He could keep up with any other muscle car of that era, except the 426 MOPARS!...I remember that the hp rating on his car was fudged a little, for insurance purposes...it was rated at around 300hp, but certainly felt like more!...the lighter Dart body accounted for the quickness.
Great car! People sure love these cars...just look at the value of them, that tells it all. Sounds exactly how we would want any car we drive to sound. Love the exhaust. Great detail on the video as always. Thanks Lou! Thumbs UP!!!
Hi Brian, Happy to read the details you enjoy with this car and video :-) You're welcome, Lou
Beautiful, it only needed the rally wheels to be perfect IMHO.
Thanks Lou for doing what you do for us.
Hi Clark, Rally wheels are cool :-) My pleasure sharing with you. You're welcome, Lou
Glad too see he kept it and nice since 1976 love the jacket in the trunk
Hi Larry, Happy to read you appreciate the condition this car is kept, and glad to read you like the jacket too, Lou
Great looking car brings back memories of my partner driving 70 and getting a terrible wreck.
Hi Brock, Wreck! OUCH! Lou
He was at a traffic stop when a car swerved and hit him head on. I went to the hospital for 12 days until he was released.
Shout out to Lou for the gorgeous Challenger reveal... AND... more importantly, that REALLY cool Batmobile t-shirt! I need to get me one!... LOL
Hi CDN Citizen, Happy to share this Challenger for you :-) Glad you enjoy the 1966 Batmobile shirt, Lou
Hermoso el día para pasear en este espectacular Dodge Challenger de 1970! Su interior, además, se ve muy vistoso con ese color. También me gustó el sonido que produce su motor V8 al acelerar. Otro excelente coche para para admirar... Saludos cordiales Lou!
Hi Jaime, Happy to read you enjoy the looks and ride along sounds of this car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
The dodge engine as to my experience ,is more durable than the Chev....More over the driver is genuine...My regards to both of you .....
Hi Iraq Kingdom, Thank you for viewing, sharing, and my regards to you too, Lou
The Mopar drivetrains in that era we're pretty much bullet-proof. The quality of the interior pieces (knobs, window cranks, etc) was a whole other story 😉
Survivor? Great catch. You do not see too many of the TA's. Sounds good and runs great. Thanks Lou.
Hi Greg, Happy to read you enjoy this one :-) You're welcome, Lou
Hark! It's a T/A running wild in the grass! Lou, you break out the lasso and I'll throw a saddle on Old Bessie.
Nice !
@@loucostabile Nice for you, hombre. YOU didn't have to slog through mounds of poopy to get to Bessie's stall.
Great looking T/A 😍
Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-)
..i love the plums & limes & mangoes..but this car? I've literally never seen this combo of beige & 2 tone brown interior..especially on a
T/A Challenger! Absolutely amazing. I love it!!! 💛🤎
Thanks tons, Lou! I hope you & yours are having a wonderful Christmas season!
God bless & keep ya'll 🎄
Hi Tom, Happy to read "I love it!!!" :-) Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and God bless you. Blessings received. You're welcome, Lou
@@loucostabile Aww, thanks, Mr. C! ..isn't it great? The Lord Jesus stepped out of eternity & was born of Mary, a virgin, 2,000 yrs ago..and here we are, still celebrating his bday! And..as he promised, he is coming back. ..not knowing the day, nor hour..we do know the season. I'm quite sure..that season (window of time) is pretty close! ❤
Beautiful Survivor T/A ! Thanks for posting Lou !
You're welcome Rudy :-)
Fantastic car here. Unigue and very bad ass. Love my Mopars. Lou your shows are top shelf and I love watching them but I have one observation. At least with the "muscle cars" I've never seen any of your quest smoke their tires from a dead stop as is a drag strip situation. Has any of your guest actually performed that strip ritual on any of your shows ?
Hi David, Happy to read "Fantastic car here: :-) Once in a while you'll get that tire squeal, however most times we're hanging out and cruising. However here is that video you're looking for, enjoy! Lou czcams.com/video/A48nCULxUEI/video.html & this one too czcams.com/video/pn77Ovsk4RI/video.html
and this one .... czcams.com/video/dHYkHbV7qz4/video.html
I love this. This is a similar setup to the Plymouth Duster 340 a friend bought. A Duster with the 340 the year we graduated in 71 and it was quite the rod. All he admitted to modifying was a hotter cam, headers and a tuned carb. That sucker flew.
Hi Kevin, Happy to read "I love this" :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
WOW YOU DONT SEE THOSE BEAST OF A CAR NO MORE BEAUTIFUL ✌️
Hi RAYMOND, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this "BEAST" :-) Lou
A nice survivor! I wonder why most of the T/A and AAR cars were not ordered or came stock with the rally dash? It was a Trans Am race car!
The rally dash with a tach makes sense.
The Challenger is one of the best, the lines are classic, an other grteat show Lou.👍👍.
Hi Philip. Happy to read you enjoy the lines of the Challenger :-) Appreciate the kind words on this show, Lou
Lou, I love the cars you post for our pleasure, keep up the good work
Thank you nrken1 :-) I appreciate the kind words. It's motivating to keep sharing.
I love this car Lou. A MOPAR fan.
Hi Ollie, Happy to read you "love this car" :-) Lou
The color looks good and subtle 'I've heard that Sam Posey didn't like that green color on his trans am challenger 'me neither.
Hi Barrycuda, Thank you for sharing you enjoy the color of this car :-) Lou
Another sweet car, Lou. I really dig the Challenger/Cuda body style and particularly like the Challenger details and trim. BTW I love your shirt! The original Barris Batmobile is still one of my all time favorite cars. It was my first love really at around 5-6 years old. Thanks Lou!
Hi Blane, I like the body style too :-) Glad you enjoy the 1966 Batmobile shirt, and my favorite call of all time. You're welcome, Lou
Enjoy - czcams.com/video/eRmPk_ITrBs/video.html

Nice car! I saw this car at Carlisle a few years ago. I'm local to Carlisle and Hershey and being a car nut, it's a great place to live.
Hi Bill, Happy to read you saw this one :-) If you see me there this year, say hello. We'll go find a few cars for the Channel, Lou
@@loucostabile Will do Lou...I definitely will be looking for you. Bill from Linglestown, Pennsylvania
How ironic, I just completed a Revell 1/24 scale model of this vehicle. I painted it a metallic olive green with a saddle brown interior.
Hi Lando W., Happy to read you have a 1/24th model of this one. Nice! Lou
Wish I could find one like that for a good, reasonable price. Nice car Lou and thanks!
Hi Gary, Happy to share this one with you :-) You're welcome, Lou

Great car, pistol grip shifter and a six pack - fantastic 👍 Thanks guys.
Happy to read his one is "fantastic" Bruce H. :-) You're welcome.
Merry Christmas Lou.
Merry Christmas Mike :-)
This true survivor T/A 6 pac has to be rare in that color combo with the 4 spd pistol grip. I'd choose it too. Not sure why he hasn't fixed his hood springs. That would get my immediate attention but I'm sure he won't let it go long since that's his baby.
Hi K B, Happy to share this "true survivor" with you :-) Thanks for viewing and sharing, Lou
Man that thing sounds great, nice car, but not crazy about the side pipes
Happy to read you enjoy the sounds from this car :-)
Legend!
Nice!
Fantastic Car and I am a Chevy guy.
High praise :-)

Nice to see someone else find and have a rare classic car , other than greedy Jay Leno.

Hi Tango Dog, Thanks for viewing and sharing, Lou
They came with a full set of guages including a tach with a 150mph speedo if you ordered the Rally dash package

I can't believe I missed a MOPAR. I'm back from the 'abyss' of KTM murdercycle and broken bones. Jay Leno's wife won't let him get a sport bike because they're dangerous🤪😎.
MANY Mopars for you :-) You're on the right CZcams Channel.

Nice car, not a big fan of the color.
Happy to read you enjoy this "Nice car" :-)
Weird color
Hi Keith, Clearly this one is not for you :-( Hope you see many more cars on this CZcams Channel you'll enjoy :-) Lou
Nice car but put some money into it..holding up the hood with a broom stick..come on dude
He has prop rods to hold up the hood because it's fiberglass and they tend to warp and twist if you use the hood sprigs to hold it up most people take them off hence the prop rods

Right everything but the Color. Those have to be the absolute ugliest colors on a T/A I have ever seen.
Sooo close.
Ugly colour great Challenger I seen a deep forest green 70 Dodge challenger 340 T/A way better colour
Hi Fun n Run 33, Clearly this one is not for you :-( Hope you see many more cars on this CZcams Channel you'll enjoy :-) Lou
@@loucostabile paint job is everything If dodge had 500 of those challengers in that colour no overhead variety is the spice of life
It looks blonde olive 🫒 like some of our Australian VH Pacers an VH R/T Australian Charger .

76 Thunderbird hood springs hold the hood up but don’t bend it.

color combo is rare on a T/A .........
