I own an EOTech EXPS3-0, but only because I got it two years ago when Brownell’s had it on sale for $100 off (price was dropped from $670 to $570). I also had a discount that let me get another $58 off, so I paid only $512 altogether. The EXPS2 wasn’t on sale at the time for some reason. If not for the uniquely good price that i paid for my EXPS3, I probably would have just gone with the EXPS2, since I don’t own NODs and have no use for the NV settings.

I own multiple EOTech EXPS3-0's and a single EXPS2-0. I got the EXPS2-0 before getting night vision. Now that I have it, I wouldn't buy an EXPS2 again. The EXPS2-0 is a great optic, but if you ever think you might be interested in getting night vision, I'd opt for the EXPS3 just in case.

I just got the EXPS3 a few months ago and love it. It goes on my BCM 14.5 “go to” rifle. I like the QD option because I switch back and forth between the EoTech and a LPVO depending on situation. I have an older (‘09) Eotech ‘553’ that has never given me ANY issues. I sent it BACK in for “warranty” work (even though it didn’t need it) when all that mess about them “losing their zeroing capabilities WHEN temperature variances were a question” (ie, cold/wet/warm, etc). Contacted customer support to request service of an EOTECH holographic sight which became too dim to be useful. Was told company doesn't service these anymore, send it in and get a 50% discount on a new one... The whole idea of buying a high-quality optic piece is for it to serve for years to come. Nowhere on the product does it say "will become useless in about 5 years". From what I was told companies like Trijicon and Vortex handled these kind of situations much better by actually caring about their customer. I don't need a new sight, just help me fix the old one - is that so much to ask? Highly disappointed in the company that I always admired so much. I haven't found a reason to buy an optic that I cannot leave on at all times without having to worry about it dying for at least a couple of years. The 4,000 hours that you get from these might be good for range trips or if you really like buying batteries. Seems like a hassle, but maybe it's worth it to some people.

If they could just put shake awake inside, I would definitely pick a couple up.

Holosun has a bunch of good options, I seem to have a varying astigmatism on different red dots.
i have a burris ff3 and a primary arms m20 that both seem to operate pretty good, especially when paired with irons co witness.
I had a vortex crossfire that i did not like at all, also looked through a mro and leupold dpp and was not impressed by either.
by 2x RMR's are good but i like my holosun 508t better
my eotech with 3x mini vortex magnifier is a great combo
for my rifles I have had elcans, acogs, lpvo, red dots and irons, etc
my favorite is an acog and backup red dot or offset red dot.
