Powerful Projection and Focus with a Beautiful Distressed Finish
This Martin D-15M StreetMaster 6-string acoustic guitar delivers big-box amplitude, focus, and balanced tone with broken-in looks and feel, thanks to its dreadnought body style and distressed finish. Built from solid mahogany and given a street-worn look in a tip of the hat to the working musician, this great-sounding acoustic guitar imparts warm, lively characteristics to your playing, along with an amazingly rich tonal complexity. The D-15M has always been popular here at Sweetwater due to its versatility, playability, and real-world price tag, so we're confident you'll fall in love with this Martin D-15M StreetMaster acoustic guitar - right from the first strum!
Solid mahogany tonewood delivers rich tonal complexity
There's a good reason that singer/songwriters swear by all-mahogany acoustic guitars such as this Martin D-15M. The naturally warm and lively tone of mahogany is extremely forgiving and also provides a rich tonal complexity that's somewhat reminiscent of an electric sound. At the same time, the deep timbre of this D-15M StreetMaster leaves plenty of sonic space for a vocal, acting as an excellent source of accompaniment.
    Classic dreadnought body style
The rich tone and loud volume of the D-15M StreetMaster come partly from its ever-popular dreadnought body style. This body style provides excellent projection and focus, perfect for pairing with a banjo (which was a common combination in Martin's golden era, the 1930s) or other instruments in an ensemble. The dreadnought body style also gives you well-balanced tone, making this D-15M an excellent choice for recording in the studio.
Smooth low-oval neck profile and Plek'd frets
Whether you need to survive long recording sessions or plan to play out late into the night, you'll be glad you got a Martin D-15M StreetMaster acoustic guitar. It features one of Martin's amazingly playable modified low-oval neck profiles, which gives you enough girth to hold onto while still allowing you to play faster lines unhindered. It has a standard neck taper, and the Plek'd frets and smooth katalox (Mexican royal ebony) fingerboard ensure a playing experience that few guitars can offer.
Martin D-15M StreetMaster Acoustic Guitar Features:
Solid mahogany tonewood delivers rich, complex sounds with appealing warmth
Unique distressed finish is an appealing nod to today's working guitarist
Dreadnought body offers balanced tone and superior projection
Low-oval neck profile improves playability for more confident performance
Diamonds and squares - short pattern abalone fingerboard inlays for an eye-catching appearance
Smooth, extremely durable katalox fingerboard for lasting beauty and playing satisfaction
Open-geared (Golden Age Relic Nickel) tuners with butterbean knobs keep you in tune with style

Great job dude. You have really helped me the last few days. I bought a Martin D-16E two days ago but it didn’t feel right . I couldn’t get the Yamaha FG5 that I also was looking at out of my mind. I went back today and returned the D-16E with hopes in getting the FG-5. Then I started playing this D-15M and really loved it.
I decided to come home and sleep on it. I think I’ve made up my mind. I love that Yamaha so much as it reminds me of my current (broken) guitar (Washburn D-10) that I’ve had for 17 years.
I just wanted to thank you for your great videos and your positive and honest energy.
This is a big decision for me and an important one so your help has been greatly appreciated.

Very sweet axe. On the strum with a G chord you can really feel that it's darker than a spruce.

I just bought one of these brand new online, and when I hammer on the 2ed fret it has tinny metallic sound and dulls out. Then I notice the high-E string is closer to the side of the fret board than the low-E string (the strings are not centered correctly on the fretboard) and the high-E string easily slides off the side of the fretboard therefore.
I am so bummed because otherwise the guitar is great. Will be returning.

Beautiful. I bet you could get it for around 1275.00+tax here in the US. Retail is listed as 1400.00+tax but "they" always negotiate. I am so attracted by |mahogany. I was also attracted by the idea that this would be a guitar you would not feel/be scared of, playing outside. It is still a somewhat expensive Martin, can't get around that.

its not expensive at all I owned martins I paid 5700 4200 and 3600 dollars for...This is cheap!!!

@@soofitnsexy I am a retired senior and I did not get to work the last few years before retirement due to an accident in the hospital. That Martin is right around 10% of my income. I saved long and hard for my D16E, no regrets. This "cheap" vrs "expensive" thing depends on where you are standing. I wanted to add/encourage older players with hand issues. I have osteoarthritis and I worked 40 years in the auto garage, my hands are beat. My hands have adapted to the training and exercises required for guitar (I am 66)

Hi! Always love to watch your reviews! I got the dss-15m couple days ago and its very nice guitar, the best ive ever bought. However, i feel the string action is a bit high, did you change the string action already on this video?

    • @TheGuitarSpaSingapore
      @TheGuitarSpaSingapore  Před 2 lety +1

Yes I change the action that’s why it sounds way better- straighten the neck and then lower the action from the saddle
