About the Helsinki-Tallinn ferries: they have a similar concept than the Finland-Sweden ferries, built for both business and pleasure. People like to take mini cruises and many Estonians live/work in Finland, they travel between FIN and EST. The ferries also carry a lot of cargo. Tight competition between ferry companies keep the ticket prices low.
It was a very pleasant ride and I was surprised how nice and spacious the ferry ship was! -WMM
One thing is for sure! It's very clean in Finland!
It is indeed. -WMM
The whole city district of 'West Harbour' (Länsi Satama) is under construction so that's why it looks the way it looks now - bare and unfinished, sorry. Really enjoyed your snap shots/videos of Helsinki - hope you visit us again!
A side note: the bigger ferries/ships like Silja Symphony that travel between Helsinki and Stockholm have some 6 stories for passengers, night clubs, shops etc. In the middle this one has a central boulevard. Plus cabins from basic to suites that look to the boulevard or the sea.
Nice video again. You looked at the residential buildings near to the West Harbor when you were in a tram. That area, Jätkäsaari (literally Bloke island) used to be full of cargo warehouses, sea container piles etc. but in 2010 they started to convert it to a residential area and the project is still going on. That's why the houses are quite new. Originally it has really been an island, but embankments have been made maybe about 100 years ago and now it's technically a peninsula. The cargo port operations were moved to Vuosaari (Flux island) harbor which is about 15 km east from the city center.
That area seemed like a good choice for people -- maybe young professionals -- working in Helsinki who want a newer, modern residential environment close to city center and transit. -WMM
Finnish rush hour in the terminal.
amazing, really enjoyed it!
Glad to hear! Thanks for watching. -WMM
I guess you wanted to see some of the city by foot one more time, but you could have also taken the tram 4 right next to NoLi and then simply transfered from 4 to 7 at the Senate Square. Excellent video once again!
Yes, I wanted to walk through the market square one more time to buy a Finland magmet, which I did. And also do a little more street filming. -WMM
Thank you.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching. -Daniel
Katajannokka is a ship terminal too 🇸🇪/🇪🇪and Länsi is another to 🇸🇪🇪🇪❤. But other side of town . Maybe he liked to use tram/taxi😊 to commute. Only by Travel ,and you see New thing’s 🔥⭐️
Tallink Megastar is really nice!
It really is! Especially when not crowded. -WMM
24:29 this is part when everyone run to find chair who not have room xD
Fortunately it was only about 10 percent full with lots of room. -WMM
11:13 lapinlahdenkatu back there i think. look park i play as kid xD.. 30 year ago lol. yeah 16:25 there it is triangle park. and i have sleep couple night on that smalll island on left xD some father friend lived there
11:30 This note might be on the spectrum, but those are either apartment buildings or housing co-operatives. You own a share in a housing co-op which gives you the right to live in a residence - but you don't specifically own that particular residence as in a condo. Condos virtually don't exist in Finland, but the next similar and very common thing are the housing co-ops.
23:02 im sure not. you should get paid for advertise xD it was M. A. Numminen - kookospähkinä
And just before that it was Pirkka-Pekka Petelius - Tralala which is an interesting choice for a public space :D
You could have taken the Viking Line ferry to Tallinn. Their terminal is one block away from your accommodation.
Yes. But then there would be no video of the walk and the tram. The objective in travel is not always maximum efficiency. -WMM
Welcome to my home town Tallinn! 😊
Thanks! 😃 -WMM
Does the ticket has to be print out? Is electronic ticket ok? I mean a journey from Helsinky to Tallinn. Thanks?
Online check-in allows to check-in from your own computer or mobile phone and print the ticket out or use it as electronic ticket.
Helsinki and Tallinn are great cities to visit. America on your decline you need to take notice.
I love my Metro-Helsinki but many American cities have their own good sides too😄 Or try to get to a better direction like Seattle.
5:40 No not really. There is only a couple of streets that has it, mostly it is just the basic pavement. It is pretty pathetic compared to for example Stockholm which has such stunning streets with lots of detail.
