    The music man. When the party allowed Cloud through the rift and Vincent said “Go, she needs you”. Man that hit hard, and knowing that Cloud fought through his demon and actually saved her, despite the outcome was powerful. Especially given what he had been through mentally.

We saw the same thing happen at the end of Remake, and when Zack went to Shinra HQ, Sector 6 slums, and the Sector 5 church. I know the Ultimania just confirmed my theory yesterday, but I thought it was pretty obvious when the massive rainbow light shot hit and the fact that Tifa was seeing Aerith alive and dead... @@Troyadvica2472 Exactly. Thats why Tifa can get a glimpse of that reality (where Aerith is alive, with no blood on her) since she fell into the lifestream. Cloud technically saved Aerith and created a new reality, where she is alive and fights Sephiroth with him. But she sends him back to his own reality after that. Problem is she doesnt tell him the truth and Cloud is stuck between 2 realities now, where he thinks he saved Aerith and doesnt even realize that "his" Aerith died, because she had to go into the lifestream to stop meteor.

      @Rydiculous Před 2 měsíci +1

      I think Sephiroth has control of the whispers of fate which is why they open that portal for Cloud when he uses Aerith's name and the white whispers are the whispers of the planet. Sephiroth manipulated the party into killing the whispers of fate and somehow that gives Sephiroth control of them which is why they look different than the previous game.
      Sephiroth wants Cloud to save Aerith in one timeline because her dying is what ultimately leads to his defeat so he wants her alive in one timeline then he will merge all of the timelines.

    • @averageatbestva
      @averageatbestva Před 2 měsíci

      @@DigimonVidsI like ShrodingersBabySeal’s take that it’s not an alternate timeline where she’s alive, it’s that Aerith from the lifestream is blocking Cloud from seeing her dead to keep his mind from shattering like Sephiroth wants. His evidence of that is based on seeing the lifestream burst from Cloud’s sword as his prepping to block the attack and the lifestream also comes out of Aerith after he “saves” her. The reality is Aerith is dead but Cloud just doesn’t know it. Which is why we don’t get the burial scene and also why we see the static split between dead and alive Aerith, the party is seeing her dead which is reality, while Cloud’s mind is seeing her as alive. It all plays into Cloud being an unreliable narrator and builds on the fact that his memories are completely trashed right now along with his mental state.

      There’s more than 2 timelines, we saw multiple timelines here where she died. There’s plenty of different Stamps out here. Zack created 3 new ones and Cloud created one here. I think it’s like 11 or so timelines. In every world Aerith died except one.

  • @RandomOnePerson

    What would have happened if Aerith didn’t have the white “holy” materia with her and had her blank materia? I genuinely think that Aerith would still be alive since Sephiroth would have no need to kill her as she didn’t possess the thing to stop him.

    In part 3, things will change drastically, but sadly no promises can be made. Thing is, What can be done is, by finding Hojo, Cloud can quickly change the shortcut from chasing Sephiroth. Everytime he chases Sephiroth, Sephiroth always ends up two steps ahead in the original, and in this one, the stakes are higher. There's a multiverse, meaning if all Aeriths are killed, even though they may come through the lifestream, there's a chance now that Sephiroth can figure out how to pull meteor through, not even letting Holy temporarily prevent meteor from coming through. See, it's the lifestream that Aerith conjures up to support Holy, although- Sephiroth can change that. By possibly corrupting Cloud, maybe Aerith would be focused on changing cloud so that in time when Seph conjures Meteor, it's too late and Aerith can't use the lifestream to support or prevent meteor. But the whole point is like a commenter said, Schrodinger's Gaia. Either the end result is that Meteor completely obliterates Midgar and possibly Gaia, or does not and gets prevented. Or the same OG sequence plays out. But because this time, Sephiroth knows what happens, as he's post A.C, he's going to try to stop that process from happening, or go a different route whereby, he fulfills Jenova's plans. Which is infecting the populace, lifeforms of Gaia, or using the planet as a dead spaceship, to sail to another Earth like planet or habitable planet and infect other organisms again. The fact is, Sephiroth may win in the third game, though hopefully- he does not. Aerith being alive in another timeline doesn't detract the fact that she can still use Holy and support the lifestream and prevent Sephiroth from using meteor. In two instances, Cloud was shifted by either Aerith or Seph's ability to change worlds (4d chess match), thereby the Aerith that is dead is now in the lifestream. The same happens, but Seph knows that and either wants to change it, or doesn't bother. So, the live Aerith in the saved time line, can possibly communicate with the dead aerith, or cannot. It's difficult to say for sure since the writers may fizzle their brains out and make a shit ending because of how complicated they made it for themselves. But the writers are smart, surely... they can figure out how to bring aerith back alive, in some way whilst maintaining the stakes, the similar outcomes, but changing it to a point where it's better than a "Hollywood" ending. One that feels well deserved. Like, Cloud feels and knows and lives with the pain, but somehow he decides this is enough, and changes it. He doesn't give the materia to Sephiroth. He goes for Hojo instead, every decision that is made in the OG game, he hopefully has a modicum of self awareness to change that path. Maybe in part 3, he realises what giving the materia to Seph does, and instead gives the materia to Barrett, plunges his sword in the crystal, killing Sephiroth's hibernating body and the 4d A.C Seph tries to stop him... there are many possibilities. But the end is either aerith lives in her own time line, or gets brought to the one where cloud and the rest lives. Maybe Gaia gets destroyed, or doesn't by meteor. Maybe Midgar gets destroyed, or the weapons overcome Midgar. Or Jenova overcomes all, or doesn't. So these are the three main questions, what does the end result entail? The OG fans want the OG, but it's pointless as we've already seen it. The question remains what new ending can be achieved? Is it a bittersweet one, a bad one, a "good" one, or a happy ever after? Do they want to detract Aerith's sacrifice, like the Christian worldview of Christ's sacrifice or other types of messianic sacrifices?

  • @lotusman1711

    In a way she needed to go. To return to the Livestream... I think thats how Holy (the white materia) works. We didn't get it then but we understand now. Sometimes a sacrifice is needed

    • @eigelgregossweisse9563
      @eigelgregossweisse9563 Před měsícem

      Not really. Holy works to summon the barrier against meteor but you saw how the OG presents it, aerith calls everyone in the lifestream (by the book, think it's canon), to support Holy. Honestly, it's uncertain if a sacrifice is needed but.... Its kinda unnecessary.

      Better to slaughter something, I mean, you've got the OG game? What's the point of having it play the same? Even in Re4 remake, or the remakes, people will complain. Better to do something new. People hate change, that's why. They feel they deserve the nostalgia, their ego drives them forward. This is why games are failing. Because people want the same shit. Too much pandering. It's time the writers write. Exactly, you lot are worst out of them, if you wanna complain, make your own damn game. Ive seen people make fan projects of FF8 on UE5, why not do that? Put your head where your mouth is. Even remakes like Dune part 2 changes a few things and you'd still complain, who gives? This is interesting. Why, you lot also complain about shit writing in Marvel. Because of you lot, that's the reason why the game industry is shit.
