They should have known it wouldve taken a lot of work to make an western GG really take off, they needed to be constantly promoted not on hiatus
Yup, they had 1 song, they never made any appearance on talk shows Mnet, Inkigayo, Its LIVE!, Knowing Bros, radio shows, etc. Everything that YG did to promote Babymonster.... JYP failed to do for Vcha. Of course it doesnt help that they received very little training and only one member speaks korean.
@@vanthadoun1 Well, VCHA is supposed to be a Western girl group, not a global Kpop group like Blackswan or X:IN for example. They won't promote as much in Korea or speak Korean because they want the group to take off in the US. They haven't really promoted them in the US outside of opening Twice's tours, and that's really the issue.

Anyone with a functioning brain knows that attending Lollapalooza would have been a perfect way for VCHA to promote in the U.S especially as rookies. Something had to happen behind the scene to make them cancel it, probably with the members or the company backing out last minute.

the fact that they wanna do l2k (latin 2 korea) when they cant even promote vcha properly is wild
It's insane at this point they just want to gather as many talented kids and keep them as trainees because why is vcha not being promoted and why debut nexz and the loud boys are sitting for 2 plus years now they going to Latin America 🤔
They even Plan E2K (Europe 2Korea) for 2025/2026
honestly applying to be in a JYPE group is setting urself up for failure we all know twice and stray kids are PRESENTLY carrying the company even when twice is KINDA at its lowest but only in terms of music as a group (gj nayeon). Sorry that Kaylee was dealing with mental issues that made her go on hiatus
It’s mostly Kaylee and it’s not even been that long. Calm tf down. Americans are more used to their groups only coming back once or twice a year and not 3-4 times like kpop with constant promo.
@@SweetforS thank you for replying. I am now educated on your point on how different promotional cycles between Western and Kpop groups as Western have longer breaks compared to K-pop. @@leebitqoq I was never rlly mad about Kaylee and how and why she’s on hiatus, no need for ppl to apologize for mental issues.
JYP never had a long term plan for them. I remember watching A2K and thinking "what is his end goal?" he stated he would bring American girls to South Korea then train them in the South Korean way of idols and once he completed that..... who was he going to market them to????? The West slowly listens to Kpop music, because its an acquired taste, and as for the East, they prefer something that is well established and fine tuned. Vcha was never that well established, they had less training than 1 year, for them to compete with the likes of other 5th Gen groups was suicide. To top if all off, they didnt speak Korean (with the exception of Kaylee) JYP brought them here without a plan and it shows he lost interest.
TO me, this all seems like Alice (Vcha members) in wonderland (South Korea) they were brought here and now they don't know how to get out of it. I just feel so bad for the girls. They don't deserve this treatment.
💯
The things is that they made theirs Global GG tooo similar with the kpop formula which is stupid since they want tham to be marleted to the west

JYP will not kick Kaylee out because he doesn't want to create another Hyuna. Any problems with lack of promotion are VCHA's management team's fault not JYP's because JYP has moved on to the next group making project and left them in charge.

Was wondering if anyone else would say it😂
Why??
SERIOUSLY, EVERYONE IS BLAMING JYP BUT HES NOT EVEN THE CEO ANYMORE LMAO. IF ANYTHING, HES THE ONE WHO GAVE THESE GIRLS A CHANCE

I also think people have too high an image of ceos…. they’re more of a manager or an overseer, but they’re typically not as hands-on as they appear to be. sure, in kpop, they do tend to play a part in their groups bc there is a certain image they want their company to portray, but there are entire teams created to carry out the ceo’s vision. the ceo’s themselves are likely too busy to deal with every little relevant detail
I think at this point something really serious happened to the girls of VCHA and, probably, there will be a disband or someone leaving the group
Because hiatus are common to happen, but not at the beginning of their carriers, I don’t know, all is strange now
Thank you for posting this video, I thought VCHA disappearing was a thing from my head

@@Emyrtemocthey very much do owe their fans info. Not saying the girls are bad or don't matter, but being nice and talented in this industry isn't enough they need to establish a fanbase which they haven't yet. They only lost potential fans but not doing lollapalooza

I was always skeptical about all of this. Their success, relevancy and the saturated market. I still wish the girls well, they are talented and nice. They are young and didn't train much but that's common in 4th gen kpop.
Truthfully I don’t feel like they’re disbanding just yet, because this happened a couple years ago when Xdinary Heroes were still really new to the industry.
They released HDD and Hello, world! But then disappeared for literally months, and the entire fanbase was convinced they disbanded. Then they released overload the next November. It seems that in recent years JYP really only promotes twice, itzy, and stray kids. Even then I don’t see much for itzy.
Hopefully JYP gets his act together.
And Nmixx it’s meh
Idk why you keep saying “jyp” like he’s not the CEO anymore, he doesn’t control that stuff. It’s the entertainment that needs to get heir act together, not him. I agree with the minority of people in here: I don’t think they disbanded, but are prepping for something, hopefully something “BIG”. It’s a new group that still needs a bit more time and polish before they truly hit the group running. And also, KG and Kaylee are still young and are probably mentally prepping for the next thing. Let’s not rush them.
Even before their debut I was really looking forward to see them grow and see everything that they’ll release, it’s really sad that JYPE just abandoned them like that, also I hope Kaylee is okay, the lack of updates can be kind of concerning and put fans on edge especially when it comes to unexpected hiatuses
People were mad at VCHA for being OPENING ACTS for Twice??? Even though they ate label mates and opening acts are always Newer acts? Make it make sense. The girls were very active in the beginning of the year and I’m sure they are probably preparing a fall comeback. Yall are doing the most.

Yess.. and he dont care about underage, he just wants a korean speaker

“Disappeared”? That’s a reach. They kinda just debuted. There is groups who have completely vanished with no questions asked. Also all of JYP’s group go through this faze before being hit with massive releases (NiziU, NMIXX, and the new boy Japanese boy group)
I was really REALLY looking forward to see what VCHA can do at Lollapalooza this year, but this HIATUS is a little bit maddening.... okay, a LOT MADDENING. Hopefully VCHA is not disbanded and there's still hope.
Oddly, another group with V's in their name is fairing more better ( that would be VVUP, with their current hit, Ain't Nobody. Oh plz say it isn't so..VCHA's dismantling that is 😢 ).
VVUP was one of the most formidable groups to debut this year, along with Illit, Badvillain, Me:I, and Candyshop. All these groups have had major impact on pop culture in less than a year. I am including Me:I even though their debut was a disaster. They rose above and put out some amazing music since then. I am worried VCHA will go the Katseye route and try to rebrand as "slexy" and mature in hopes of garnering rage/cringebait.

Obviously, a group isn't making music 24/7, but it's the fact that their IG just went completely radio silent. Groups would at least be doing non-music promotions like brand deals, or just making TikToks about the latest trends. That's what I think is strange is how the group kinda just fell off :/
It's such a shame watching talent go to waste, jyp should do better plzzzzzz

I actually think NiziU is being promoted very well. They never go more than a few months without a new single. In fact, they are currently promoting their new song now, which is also the theme of the anime Tower of God. Plus with Twice doing such a huge American tour, I can't really say that Twice has been managed badly.
The problem with Niziu is aside from Japan, no one really bothers to check them out anymore because JYP made them to exclusive for Japanese. Such a waste.
twice is managed badlyyy they dont promote their albums right and now they almost abandoned tzuyu solo debut providing us nothing and theyre killing the hype
I hate to say it but I think VCHA is going to disband. Not enough subscribers even after opening for TWICE, no sales and just not popular. I don't think kpop fans care too much for a kpop group who is not all asians and who is not from Korea or Japan.

I'm really concerned. I was hoping to get an update about Kaylee or what the group's next project would be, but then they go....POOF. I think the most recent update on Insta was wishing Happy Birthday to KG 😭😟
i rhink this is all so crazy. not even that long after they debut, and the youngest member is on hiatus, and they are all so quiet. it makes me wonder if they are being treated well. it's like jyp didn't care about them at all, like he says he wanted to make the "first global GG" he just did what he had to do and left it alone. like come on these girls were fighting so hard to become who they wanted to be and now their talent is getting wasted. Like Katseye is with Hybe labels rn and they are getting off to a good start and I feel like they are going to have a good future(sorry not my intentions to compare them). but I feel like if they debuted under hybe things would have been better. like I feel sorry for the girls. they arent getting what they deserve😭🫶
J Park is known for try multiple things and see what sticks, he's doesn't care too much about the artists but what he can do with them. @@vanthadoun1 The industry isn't ready for "gloabl" girl groups. From the moment I heard of a2k I knew it wasn't going to be long lived.
A lot of us knew it too sadly. I like the analysis on the Reddit page, this group was bound to fail from the awkward line up, to the childish concept and lack of promotion
Kaylee should absolutely have not debuted with the group. She is way too young and puts the group at a disadvantage. Because of the age range, the only demographic that vcha can approproately cater to is the tween demographic, which is non-existant. Its clear that jyp does not care about them and will debut another group while putting vcha on hiatus until they ultimately disband.
Now lets compare vcha with katseye. Katseye is actually doing a good job at promoting and getting their name out there. They also cater to the teen/gen z demographic, as seen with their music videos and tiktoks.
The only time I hear about vcha is in tiktok comments about people defending their irrelevency, yet i fail to see any actual real fans. Its the sad honest truth, and jyp/republic records are entirely to blame for this
Apart from actually fans of vcha, kpop fans in general are just not interested in that type of group. The proof is in the pudding - y’all can blame jyp as much as you want but with the huge fan base of jyp artists, their most viewed songs is 16mil. People did not show up to support them even though they showed great potential with limited training and had good personalities. Don’t even bother commenting about the style of song because I can’t even begin to count the amount of crappy kpop songs that have millions of views just because it’s Kpop.
I’ll use XG as an example as well, even though they have great success, when you compare their views to some kpop groups, it honestly boggles my mind how they don’t have more when they are leagues ahead in terms of skills and songs. Koreans aside, international fans rather listen to Korean songs that they can’t understand with basic as* English rather than something they understand and that actually has substance.

I think a lot of fans forget this is a business. If a company can't predict a return on investment for whatever reason then changes will be made. There is no emotion in business. For all we know there could be other stuff happening behind the scenes, both contractually and personally for the girls or a reassessment via the A&R team on how best to go forward. Ngl they flopped, they dont rlly stand out as singers, they aren't so talented and just random girls who want to be an idol. Dont get me wrong I'm not hating but they're not inspiring or something.
It's fine to have opinions but the members are talented. Especially Kaylee, kg and Camila since their vocals are very stable. If you've watched A2k you would've seen how talented these girls are
In 2025/2026 JYP will also do E2K (Europe 2 Korea) . As a European I don't think they will be succesful. Europeans have pretty strong Child protection Laws and most people don't want Children to be on stage. Here in Germany they couldn't even perform after 9:30 p.m
Better to disband them early because JYP would be losing money if they continue to promote them in the West for 7 years, we know their market there is super small, kidzbop music not being popular there, no music shows like in Korea etc. so I don't how they can build a fanbase there.

Omg 😳 all these K-pop companies have a dark bad side of them😡😡
idk but the people angry that vcha opened for twice sound so stupid like why get mad for another group getting opportunity? besides, they're literally from the same company, of course the company's going to prioritize putting them on rather than random acts ???
why not utilize that privilege when it's given. other groups r literally struggling w promotion. they r lucky to debut in a big 3 company w that opportunity. but now, idk. jyp is really trying to make it harder for their groups
What is happening
You wanna know why because the line up isn’t it this group is a mess the girls are unique in their own way but they do not work well nor look good together on stage , for example the age gaps between members are crazy one of the members is way older then the rest and dressing like a 14 years old they really Did not think this trough
While this might be straight coping, I wonder because they have to also follow California state regulations that this is why they’re not promoting as much? Its hard to really say but its sad to see that there aren’t even a lot of social media updates to kind of buffer between album releases because if they can’t promote like typical idols on variety show they can still have web series to showcase the girls’ personalities- they all have awesome ones to show off too!!
I was thinking the same thing! NEXZ just Debuted under JYP and they have thier own show that releases online every week where we get to see them do challenges together, its a lot of fun. I liked the little shorts they were doing with VCHA were they went candy shopping and album shopping and stuff, that was cute! I was wondering why VCHA didn't get thier own VLOG show or like challenge web series like NEXZ did, and like TWICE and NIZIU has.
@@Shadowcat31 it /could/ be personal preference of the girls but even more lives would work!! 😭
Everyone loves vcha and they were consistent too, their recent song only one was the best but idk what happened to them, they rarely post now, i just saw they posted savanna birthday post
Now he wants to go to Latin America and repeat the process at this point that man is really just trying to create as many groups as possible without making sure these girls and boys are successful and don't forget the trust of the parents of these kids put in jyp and he just wants to create as many groups as possible 🤔
No because he’s doing the same thing to boy story like their songs are good but they aren’t getting any promotion like if they did they would have been a big successful K-pop group
If they come back, i hope they rebrand the girls or even come back as A2K. That sounds way cooler. From the looks of it though, its probably only a matter of time before they announce a dismandment due to their contracts ending or something like that.
VCHA are so talented and have so much potential ! They can become really big if managed properly !
Theres a rumor saying that Kaylee did plastic surgery like huh???
Or they all get plastic surgery that's why they don't have a video
wdym dissapearence they had a comeback 4 months ago..
Right 😭😭
Most of the world at this point equate Korean Pop with Koreans....though some argue that other Asians have contributed to what Kpop is now (Japanese, Chinese as well as Southern Asians...Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippnes).
VCHA, iirc do have a couple of Asians. So why aren't they blazing a trail? Imo, despite Kpop being global, groups still have to go through the domestic audience. Koreans view non-Asian artists as that. it has nothing to do with prejudism. If you're a homogenous country that has seen similar looks among your own society for centuries, you will develop a familial comfort zone with that in every facet (business, education, entertainment....)
Some of you will now say but there were Kpop groups with Asians born and raised in North America. Yes, that's true, but they were surrounded with Asian members who are Korean born. Besides that familiar look, language still plays a key role which made Kpop what it is. Again, nothing to do with racism. It's a cultural thing.
I think what JYP did not understand was, every major music movement in history when it was popular in the world.at their time (heavy metal, R&B, America Pop, Country, Techno, Grunge, House, British Punk, Bollywood, Tokyo Pop....) All did NOT seek to expand their niche elsewhere by trying to convert foreigners to be like them. If foreigners were interested, they either copied it or it spawned into something that suited their regional or societal style. People were already saying during the A2K show, that it felt too forced. And sadly, this project will be a prime example of that
