- I love my tour pack, but I also want to take it off when I want. I just converted my stock king tour pack on my 2021 @harleydavidson Ultra Limited to quick release, but I wanted better lighting and a cooler look! So, when you want the best in bike lights, you go to @customdynamics. I used their blade saddlebag lights for turn signals, their lay back Pro Beam tail light with the bottom window and their license plate relocation bracket. I think you'll agree it looks top notch. Same cost as the HD kit, 10x cooler looking! The link below to the @customdynamics site takes you to where you can pick up the license plate relocator, and on that same page you can add the tail light you need. The next link is the turn signals, the last two links are the tour pack quick release brackets you'll need. Let me know what you think!

I have the hidden antenna inside the fairing. It works great. I bought it from Harley-Davidson, but I've seen other brands.
Read a lot of reviews less positive than yours about the hidden antenna. One review recommended hiding it the TP to get better reception. But if it works and your happy that's really all that matters. Wish all my solutions worked. I decided to go with the antenna bracket and a tiny, small antenna. Haven't really put it to the test yet. Hope it works. Will this Saturday.
Love how you hide the license plate but the CVO’s plate was just sitting there for all to see. 😂 great stuff man!

And if you get the ultra limited you retain value better than buying a street glide and putting all the aftermarket stuff on it to turn it into a ultra. But I do love that set up for the tour pack👍👍

Thank you for talking about getting that cable back under the seat, that was my only concern. The seat i want is coming from advan black and tail light/ license plate relocation bracket is from custom dynamics. Like you said the 4 point docking setup you can get from anywhere. Again thanks for the heads-up on the cable.

I did this to my 2017 Ultra. Great mod. Highly recommend it.
I used the Harley kit because I didn't know of other kits. The Harley kit isn't bad looking when it's installed. I do like the license bracket you used.
I believe the tour pack hard mount has a ledge where the cables get stored. The removable bracket does not. So when HD installed the kit they let the cables sit on the fender which caused some chafing of the paint. I rigged up 2 pieces of velcro to hold the cables up off the fender.
I need to figure that out for sure.
Have a 22 RG Limited, just completed installing 4-pt docking station, removable plate for TP, antenna bracket and license plate holder. I can't do the bag lights (that I bought) because I've got blade lights between the bags and fenders and no one, even Harley, (big search) makes a splitter wire so I can run both. You're right, if all goes well this job can be done within a few hours and it doesn't take a lot of skill. Even with basic skills and the tools a guy could do this and save that high Harley shop time ($190 hr.?) with an exaggerated shop time. Can't believe the shop time they allow for this. It's crazy!! A guy with half a brain and a pair of pliers could do it within the time Harley wants to charge for this.

You know... I have a '19 road glide ultra. I have no intention of taking off the tour pak. But..... that custom dynamics setup is nice. If I do that I'll be able to clean under the tour pak above the tail light way easier and actually... the whole rear fender easier. Thanks, this is a great idea. I'll do it soon.

I've never understood why people cover the tag, if you ride it on public roads then thousands of people see it every time you ride.
Exactly what I think. But I keep being told I’m nuts for not covering up.
You cut your connectors off of both sides and flip them then you never have to worry with the long wire harness having to go under your seat . That's what I did and it's pull the seat disconnect wires pull your pack off put seat on . Done . I watched a video on it and it worked out great .

Been thinking of using a quick change set up for a fender. So I can put a fender on that'll work with soft bags for long drives. That or a backpack and a bike trailer on a bobber xD

I like the stock LP bracket because under the tour pack the ez pass cams don’t pick it up .. so free tolls and yep I’m that cheap .

You can do a hidden antenna in the fairing but I'm like you, I didn't care about the antenna so I just tucked the wires
two Antennas.... one for the radio, one for the CB.
Ohhhhhhhhhhh. I've never used a CB on my bike, but duh, why the hell didn't I think of that?
On my Road King I have stock, a plate under my tail light. It isn't LED though. I can't say I have seen another bike that us the same setup.
I believe (might be wrong) that the wet heads as you describe them, also make the frame longer, on my UL I had to lean forward more and even bought handlebars with extra pullback, on the RG the handle bars are perfect. at least it seems that the frames are slightly different. oh! and I think the SG and RG sit lower. I know for a fact the RG does.
They do, an Ultra is an inch higher.
Very cool. I ordered the Harley quick release system but it is on backorder until July! I think I'm going to cancel the order and wait to see what Custom Dynamics comes out with.

Its his second one. I have ridden it to Orlando for him, it steers heavy and you have to plan turns, but it has definite positives. For example, weather is not much of a thing on a trike, nor is ruts in the ground say at rally campgrounds, ya know?

You ruin your scotch with soda? Try Highland park. Single malts good stuff. But dont wreck it. I hate commercials so no radio for me. Loaded all my cds on my phone and bluetooth but I've got a shitty stereo anyway but it's nice when I get to camp or ridding though town. Can you leave your existing turn signals on with the blade ts?
There are no existing turn signals. They are in the tour pack, so you have to add something down below.

I was able to take the tip off my antenna, cut it, and make it fit right under the pack
I ended up running the whole thing along the right frame upper fender stay...
The two antenna cables are for the CB radio antenna and the AMFM antenna

What are they doing? Where did you get them? I trashed my Amazon stuff and went with Advanblack mounts and tour pack rack. Now fits nice and snug, no movement.

The liner is a breeze to take out. Just cut the thin top strip above the hold strap and all you do is slide the strap through it. No more unscrewing the strap holding bracket. 👍

What does removing the tour pack speakers do to the stereo? I’ve been told nothing, it throws a code for the flash, and the Rockford fosgate can be reprogrammed when you take the tour pack on or off to adjust for the number of speakers. I went with the detachable set up like you, but initially to fit my legend’s reservoir the way I wanted them.
I dont run tour pack speakers. Mine is only fairing and lowers.

Wanted a Harley all my life. Been looking seriously now for about a year. Finally settled upon the Ultra Limited, want it in white. Was wondering how much weight you lost by removing that tour pack? Also, have you considered for for early morning runs, adding custom dynamics lights between saddle bags and outer fender? Harley shows this bike in running weight at 917 pds.
This is my first Harley. Want it right straight out of the box. Never ridden anything else.

I guess it's just me. But the Ultra looks elegant with the Tour Pack. Unless you have a Street Glide fender, tail lights, seat & & one inch lower shocks, the Ultra looks goofy without the Tour Pack off. Plus, I put 40K miles on my Street Glide riding the Blue Ridge here in NC. I'm doing same with my Ultra Limited now & it handles just as good in the twisties with the Tour Pack on as the SG did. I always laugh when someone "it rides better with Tour Pack off". JUST MY opinion y'all.
I think it rides fine with the tour pack. I just wanted the option. I also have plans for the rear end...

Need some advise before next week. I have a 2016 cvo roadglide ultra I want detachable TP. But I already have the CD lights and don’t care for the radio and cb. Which kit did you use and is it trust worthy as HD one. A lot of people tell me don’t buy aftermarket they had bad experience. Hoping to find a good Black Friday deal
I wouldn't worry about the plate thing,,you ride with your plate uncovered, go to Sturgis and stuff, it's no different, I don't care if someone wants to find out who I am,,stop over sometime and meet my two brothers, Smith & Wesson 😎

hey, great video, just found this one about the removable tour pack hardware, did you find a good way to relocate the tour pack wiring I read you can hook up another type of adapter where the wiring harness is connected under the seat, then when you take off the pack it is unplugged under the seat and the long wiring harness is removed with it and there are no long wringing to hide? thanks

None, those are just painted fillers.
Who hides your license plate while you are riding your bike? If people want your plate number it's on display to the world while out on the road. I've never understood hiding it on videos or pictures but maybe I'm missing something.

I ended up swapping the hardware to Advanblack's bracket and docking hardware. So much better. That Amazon stuff was always loose, could never adjust it enough!

Might I suggest a piece of masking or duct tape to hide your plate. That way you hide your tag number but still let the product be seen. Other than that, decent video.

H-D does make a hidden antenna which you install into the batwing. I put one in my 2009 ultra. Thinking on doing this to my 2020 limited. I am currently nuts deep into the Rockford Fosgate stage 2. Just my luck “backordered” 🤨

It's unfortunate there are some keyboard warriors that like to start $hit but people are capable of going off the deep end nowadays. Who cares about the plate ? No one. It’s public you ride your bike daily and people see your plate. Also you covered your plate then immediately showed the plate on the cvo. Makes no sense. Ultra looks better now 👍
