It's crazy how I fully agree that Nigeria is better than South Africa in music, but I cannot put a finger on what exactly.
Beats? South Africa.
Melodies? Quite close, maybe tie but South Africa has more range.
Lyricism? South Africa
Flow? Maybe tie, but if we include Hip hop, South Africa.
Diversity- South Africa.
However, overall, Nigeria takes it😂 and I agree, I don't know how.
Broe stop D ridding🙄
@@mabhodlelajj1195 huh?
You will never know how
South Africans are too energetic. Not a bad thing,it's actually exciting...but not half of the world is that energetic.... Nigerians are groovy.. heck, the oldest if generations groove to it Yes?...That's why they take the crown....the more people relate the better you trend....regardless of the genre
I'll give you a clue.. A bigger fan base and diversity
I am a Nigeria I love all the African music. Africa continent is the best in the world. Proudly Africana. God bless Nigeria God bless Africa continent God bless the world at large. One love Africa
I'm Nigerian but all African countries produce good music, we're one.

I am a Kenyan but Ningeria music locks in both secular and gospel. Keep it guys👍
U should try to listen to South African Gospel now this is one area I think we actually good at
@@khululiwekhuzwayo1436 I'm a Nigerian, yeah, but I've got so much love for SA🇿🇦 amapiano, as a matter of fact, I've downloaded quite a lot of it on my phone, in fact SA 🇿🇦 is almost comparable to Nigeria 🇳🇬 in terms of beat making, but in terms of making music and selling it out convincingly and also being able to fuse sounds and genres together in order to carry everyone along Nigeria 🇳🇬 is No.1 in Africa, if you travel a lot you'll notice that most countries in Africa do vibe more to Nigerian music, is it the vibe?, is it the lyrics or the moves and many more, come on man, it's enough, stop trying too hard, no one is saying SA 🇿🇦 is not good, the African continent is an entertainment it's own.
@@danieloluwaseun5164 lool eh u came in with guns blazing. I did not make any statement about South African music being the best. I actually agree with this video Nigerian music is number one. I dont enjoy it more than amapiano though but I really do like it. I actually enjoyed a Zimbabwean song too though it's a sound I've never heard b4 it's called mavhende by Silas I think. Do look it up maybe u'll enjoy it too✌️
Nigeria gives beats to Africa...so proud of my country 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬

Nigeria doesn’t top in only music… they’re the best in music, movies, funny skits, EVERYTHING ENTERTAINMENT.. and SA, I don’t know much because honestly we in West Africa don’t easily hear much from SA but we know their music is a Vibe and the almighty Ivory Coast has given the continent some of the best music since 60s we love them

in that order? as in you think kenya produce better music than Tanzania?
@@modelka222 It's her favorite music. Are you going to force your music down people's interests? Tanzanians mko funny. There is nothing like a single sound of Kenyan Music. So yes Kenya produces better Hip hop than Tanzania. We also have Kenyans like Otile Brown who do bongo/Mombasa sound and sound better than TZ artists. If we were to discuss an international audience Kenya would have an advantage over TZ because they use English in their music. So basically keep an open mind.
Hehehe you are too funny for me to even waste my time responding.

I am a Ghanaian but I love Ghana 🇬🇭 n Nigerian Music 🔥🔥💕💕
Nigeria music is taking the continent by storm and I from east Africa where we have large numbers of naija music fans
For me it's hard to choose which music is the best between South African music and Nigerian music because they're both talented in their own ways. Nigerian music has got great lyrics, charisma and lots of rhythm to it. South African music on the other hand has got people who can sing(Check South African choirs, especially gospel choirs, ) and it has great soul to it.
Naija🇳🇬 no dey carry last......we are the pride of Africa! .... too many hit songs... too many super stars 🔥
I love Nigeria music too much.
I love Kenyan and South African Songs.
But the only problem with South African songs just like UK Rap is that they all sound the same and that's why Nigeria is topping, there's so much diversity in Nigerian song that anyone from anywhere can easily get a song or two they can relate to.
Nigerian artists always sound the same too
They start singing 3mins after the song has started
@JJ you prolly only have started listening to south african music in 2020. Amapiano is a very new sound. South africa has always produce better music than any other african country even before afro beats was a thing. however Nigeria is the hit maker of africa without a doubt and thats why their music is always in our ears.
@@modelka222 who's ears and what Nigerian music, just admit you don't know nothing about music, there is no music in Nigeria, only imitation crab of American music, they all sound like Akon, their music videos with naked look like men wemans, just try to explore the music of the world maybe you will understand the thing called music, don't talk about fake Nigerian music copied from USA
@@fananelsonmbambo9040 Seem like you just woke up and chose violence. Imitating or not nigerian music still is the biggest and most popular in africa. Am not nigerian am just talking facts here. its rather ignorant to overlook that fact. Nigerian music is played everywhere and the numbers shows even on youtube. their musicians are the first to break records abroad like sold out tckets in madson square; a venue even some popular american musicians never managed to sell out. and their sound is not american is a mix of different genre. I may not know music but you sound like a hater or someone who dont give a f** fact about facts for this.
if you read my comment i didnt say they have the best sound,i gave that to south africa. read carefully before you embarrass yourself next time
this list is one of the realest!! I'm Ghanaian and there's no doubt South Africa and Nigeria come before us in music.

@@nanagucci285 I’m not going down this lane with you. I live in South Africa and I can tell you for a fact that most South Africans don’t even know your ghana hit songs. Ghanaian songs makes much sense to Ghanaian community likewise South African songs. Internationally the best African songs are from Nigeria, SA and Ghana respectively.
Nigeria definitely ... South Africa? Not a chance... Ghana is definitely ahead of them

I'm new to african music. But first time i listened wooow i loved em. I already listened to traditional drums now going through these beats, dances are even better
In terms of influence and sound. African music would never be what it is without Congolese music. From the 50's to today. Congolese music has made its introduction to every African culture and have made the entire continent dance.
Have you heard about fela, he's from Nigeria and he is been studied in British universities because of his musical influences to the world.
@@richolive7940 I very much have but if your argument is that Fela as great as he was represents ( To you) the purest and most influential form of African popular music, I'd say you're cappin'. If you know who Fela is but do not know who Franco is. I'd have to question your knowledge of African music and how it impacted Africans. Not what appealed to colonizers. Because he was from an English-speaking country Fela has more international recognition but on the continent itself, Franco was just as influential, if not more. Ask peeps from Zambia , Rwanda or Gabon who they recognize more, you'd be surprised.
Now
How market when day broke
@@richolive7940 Fela was never better than Franco or even Tabu Ley in the African continent. Fela was popular in Nigeria and in the West.
@@kikizaza4314 Those people you mentioned are not even Sunny Ade equals. You calmed Fela sang in English hence the recognition, Sunny Ade is a a Nigerian that sang in Yoruba and got 2 Grammy nominations, in 1983 and 1998. You claimed those people you mentioned rules Africa, they didn’t rule Africa cause we don’t know them here, they ruled their countries and their neighboring countries. Brenda Fassie and High Massekela are South Africans and they are more popular, also their music appeals more to the ears. You claimed Fela got recognized because he sang in English, Fela sang in mostly pidgin and Yoruba language. Learn to make research before spitting nonsense next time.

I Am proud to be a Nigerian ♥️
I think people should stop attributing the success story of Nigeria to her population.
They've got whatever indices you can ever think of.
The Nigerian Music industry is like an aged wine. Nigerian Music progenitors have been receiving Grammy Nominations since the 1970's.
They just keep getting better... Both on the Gospel and secular genre. There is no need to compare them with any African countries... To grow together, musicians from different parts of Africa should do more of collaboration with Nigeria... Nigerians are always open,... Instead of envying and hating, they just understudy to learn, and come out with something better.
DRC historically is much better, Nigerians have a westernized style, and they copy South Africans, and lucky their language is English
Hahaha! I am forever in love with US & SA gospel tunes. I can say that growing up, I grew up on those tunes as a believer in Christ. But recently, Nigeria is now in the front in the gospel and it is globally. Nigerian gospel songs have even filled the airwaves in the US.
In secular songs, its Nigeria, South Africa & Ghana as at today. But its never forever static! Truly, all African countries have potentials to shoot up any moment, just like Nigeria.
God bless Africa, the richest continent in the world to look inwards and find ways to awaken the giant from within! Amen. If we get our acts right, the whole world will defer to Africa for everything!
From Cameroon 🇨🇲 for song producing I'll give it to Nigeria 🇳🇬 but to the dancing and beats I'll give it to the Congo and also the Francophone countries. Ugandan music and even Nigerian music is good for me
South African music is just out of this world, it is everything, huge variety and creativity. No country in the world compares with SA music.
I’m not disputing a thing you say about “your county’s musical diversity” but the only issue here is that the hype around South African music are mostly made by South Africans. You guys claim you’ve got it all and no other country can compete but non South Africans say otherwise... even the very video you’re commenting under says otherwise (as Nigeria is ranked the highest) despite y’all claiming to be the best.
Sure thing, no one would claim another persons food is sweeter his mum(well especially in front his mom)... but we’re not talking about the South Africans taste alone and Nigerian music clearly supersedes yours based off the popularity and the grove.
Congo is much better
