This is my most favourite train. 2623/2624 is a super cool train. I've been traveling in this train since my childhood. This train used to skip cbe station. This train used to have loco change at Palakkad junction. Now after getting lhb coaches, this train now shares it rakes with cheran express!
This train is very fast between Chennai and Cbe. It becomes a passenger in KERALA with people not respecting reservation and TTE missing on way to TVC. The same in return upto Palakkad where even in a/c coaches people sit esp Railway employees. From Cbe to Mas it is King again. TTE says he can ensure no unreserved passengers only from Coimbatore as in Kerala there is no reservation for day trains. Keralites say it is due to lack of buses and high bus fares. A legendary train of course as I used to travel from Cochin Harbour to Chennai many times in the last as student. Thanks.
Most of my childhood (1978-1989) involved travelling by this train from Chennai to Ernakulam town which was our connection after arriving from Vijayawada....I remember that in those days departure was at 6.30 or so....n early 4.30 arrival at Ernakulam...it really really travelled fast with diesel engine..
Yes, my childhood memories in 90s are also with this train. 6.55 from MAS and 9.10 at QLN. From Erode, then palakkad and later from ERS this used to run with twin Alcos till electricfication of the lines. 😍😍😍😍

The speed it covers all the delays occurred within TVC - TCR single line section due to signalling and crossing of trains will be matched up and as lways arrive MAS early 😍
One of the prestigious trains of SR. The train speed will be awesome in TN. Once it enters Kerala it has lot of stops. On the other hand ananthapuri express is a non super fast train. But both Trivandrum Mail and ananthapuri express are taking same time as mail is going through a very long route and ananthapuri is taking shortest route to TVC.
One of the classy mail trains of the south for sure.. the others being 12601 MAS - MAQ SF Mail (from 1862) and 12658 SBC -MAS SF Mail (from 1864). Wonderful video!

(May be this was the reason that 2623/24 was restored its halt at CBE-?) What is the RSA position of 2655/56 Navajeevan? Does it run without RSA? How many rakes does it have, 3 rakes or 4? One more important question, trains with RSA usually have twin destination boards, so this train should have destination boards of MAS-CBE-MAS and MAS-TVC-MAS, but the video shows it having destination boards of only TVC mail. Do they change the boards on their arrival at MAS?
He had an Unreserved ticket. He just didn't want to take a local which would have been jam packed at that point of time. It was also Ganesh Chaturti and vendors / businessmen were returning home after a good sale at Chennai

Average speed of this train is 60 km / hr btwn MAS and TVC but section average speed btwn MAS and CBE is 72 km /hr Faster than shathabdi and next to MAS TVC AC super fast exp, thus it is fastest sleeper class train between MAS and CBE with a top speed of 110 km per hr and 3 halts.

Cheran and TVC Mail have RSA. As of now Navajeevan does not have any RSA.
