"I think we have to rank them 1 to 3." Rory is an intellectual giant.
And yet he didn’t even consider Aguero and he should be on that list… Buvey needed to make that point!
@@ace12brownso should Henry… these debates are between 3 always. They already had one with Aguero and he won it.
Overweight giant as well😂😂😂
@@risheeeesh512 Yeah but they are always stupid selections, who in there right mind looks at Rooney, Drogba and Suarez as similar players. The selections should be Drogba/Shearer/Kane. Not only did Suarez score 31 goals in 30 games that season. He was also along with Gerrard best assister in the league with 12
He didn't score a penalty either that season. Not sure if Drogba was on penalty duty in 2010 or lampard

Rory is clearly insane. Drogba was a great big game player, but the mental gymnastics you have to do to put him above Suarez is mind-boggling.
Not really considering Drogba won it all at Chelsea.
Suarez won it all with Barcelona. The debate is about a player’s prime.
Even if both players had won nothing, on ability Suarez is so far ahead they might as well be playing a different sport.
@@Bellpipe41 But we're not talking about Barcelona.
He won feck all with Liverpool.

@@ziudra91 Yes, we are. The debate is about these players in their prime, and Suarez’ prime was with Barcelona.
He wasn’t a ‘Great’ big game player. He was the best. Up there with whoever else you can think of. If it’s a cup final, Suarez warms the bench.
People forget gerrard took like 13 pens that season suarez scored 31
yep, and suarez was banned for first 5 games too. And that Liverpool team finished 7th the year before...
That 13/14 season he scored 6 goals against Norwich 😂
And failed to score against Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal
@@VictorVonDoom. Doesn’t matter still the best individual season, with pens it could have been 44goals 12 assists in 33 matches! Also didn’t Liverpool beat Arsenal 5-1?
@@VictorVonDoom. 5 vs norwich and not 6,
Also talk about cherry picking 😂🤦♂ he scored in the 1 game he played vs utd, scored both home and away vs spurs and scored home and away in the merseyside derby. He was also one of the top assist providers in the prem that season and created goals against Arsenal and City . he had 12 goals/assists in 11 games against the other top 7 clubs that season. He was also the best player on the pitch BY FAR in the game at the etihad, despite not scoring/assisting with 4 key passes/2 big chances created and completing as many dribbles as the entire city team put together. He was an absolute phenom and had the most complete attacking season the league has ever seen
@ElWrighto Whats the 13 pens got to do with it. Gerrard was the taker. Might as well say _ Rooney never took pens because of Ruud then Ronaldo_
Prime Liverpool Suarez was absolutely unplayable. Anyone with eyes can see he had the highest peak of the 3.
you clearly didnt have any eyes when rooney was at his peak then.
@@maxcsw5809you are crazy if you think Rooney prime even comes close Suarez.
Agreed prime Suarez was unreal but his prime wasn't even in the PL nor did he stick around for long. Rooney had the PL on lock differently for like a decade which tips the scale in his favour. Similarly Drogba was that guy for longer and was more successful therfore the only logical order would be

@@LocalNoob_2 I hate united but doesn’t mean I don’t respect how good some of their players are/were. Anyone who doesn’t have Rooney in top 10 greatest prem players list is kidding themselves. Suarez, end of the discussion. The only ever player to win golden boot in prime Messi and Ronaldo era. Missed 5 games and still scored 31 goals with no pens. Took liverpool team that finished 7th into a title race single-handedly.
It's not all about goals, Rooney was all around a better player and could do it in multiple positions.

I hate the fact that they only talked premier league, I'm an United fan but Suarez at Barcelona could have won a ballon d'or in 15/16 if not for Ronaldo winning the Euro, and he scored more goals in 5-6 season that Rooney scored for United I think, after that he goes to Atletico and wins the league there, I think it's ridiculous how better Suarez is
I agree mate, the 1 season prime Premier league debate is so pointless, the conversation is about who is the best player out of the 3 and 100% it's suarez. Rooney is probs my favorite footballer ever aswell
Even if the question is 1 season prime premier league, the correct answer is still Suarez. The only other players in that debate could be Torres at Liverpool, Henry, or possibly Ronaldo. Rooney and Drogba both had fantastic careers, and some amazing seasons, but neither of them quite had a single season like Suarez did.
Rooney was a better player than Suarez, Suarez is a better no 9.
@@1905binny Yeah this is always my argument when Rooney is put in these things against Strikers. Rooney was a old school 10, sat behind the 9. The season he scored 34, i think, actually was detrimental to his career. Lured Fergie into thinking he could play as a lone striker. Rooney was too involved with the game to sit up top like a Drogba. He was often seen at right back bailing Neville out. Should have been transitioned into the Scholes role far sooner than he was. If you think of what made him great, and how it reminds you of other players, hes much closer to a Scholes than a Henry, Shearer or Kane. The fact hes still regarded in such high praise despite being a 442 lad who spanned the transition into 433 shows just how great he was. If your building a best 11, Rooney is the AM, Henry is the LW, Shearer is the ST and then maybe Suarez gets a look in at RW
Firstly, you could argue suarez is better than rooney but dont use goals. Rooney was a number 9 unlike suarez. You sound childish and unknnowledgable
If we are only talking Premier league we are doing Luis Suarez a huge disservice. Both Rooney and Drogba played in the Premier league for much longer, and also played for way, waaaay better teams than that Liverpool team was. So naturally, when only focusing on Premier league, all the stats and silverware will backup Rooney and Drogba. If we are talking who was the best striker period, regardless of league, I'd probably go Suarez before Rooney, and Rooney second and Drogba third.
Yes, this is the obvious unbiassed answer. But when you are a fan of a particular team, it may cloud your judgement and therefore this debate is somehow possible.
This. This is why usually these debates are daft because you aren't even agreeing to debate about the same thing essentially. I'd further break it down to "which one at their peak season would you want to time travel in to play a game tomorrow" vs legacy.
Suarez essentially wins 2/3 of those debates, and Rooney wins PL legacy.
Suarez season was the best but Suarez scored 53/49 games for Barca and scored some big goals so the point of Rory isn’t true saying Suarez never scored as many as 37. If he’s talking solely the premier league then needs to specify because then Suarez out scored them both and match Ronaldo’s record and missed the first 6 games
and didnt take penaltys
The title is Prime Debate, so it’s obviously not only about PL.
Everyone knows where Suarez spent majority of his prime.
And well, don’t trust Rory when he brings out stats.
He has trouble reading numbers.
It’s sadly an in curable condition.
@@Ronit1220 It is definitely 100% only the premier league they are discussing. They even say it near the end.
you think prime rooney wouldn't score that many with prime neymar and prime messi either side of him? with iniesta busquets and xavi behind? with jordi alba and dani alves at full back? have a day off.
Peak Suarez gets more goals assists and is animal
Rooney for longevity in England
Drogba miles away
Also Rory’s “fact” that Suarez never scored 37 in a season he did twice , once scoring 59
He limited it to the PL with that "stat", although he includes non-PL games as it makes drogba look better
Now lets look at it as Henry LW, Rooney AM, Suarez RW and Drogba ST as a serious answer when building the greatest PL team of all time, and sit back and realise the issue is the question. 3 totally different players. Totally incomparable.
Let's forget the Suarez at Barcelona then 😂
but then that doesn't fit their narrative

Suárez is too good for this conversation. He scored the winning goal in the champions league final and the winning goal in the copa America final so has clutch moments alongside every other attribute over both of them

Suarez is without doubt the best among the 3. Rooney however has had the better career in terms of longevity and output. Why is Drogba here?
Did Drogba have like a 25 game drought

Rooney was the most versatile, but Suarez was arguably the greatest striker of his generation. Rory doesn’t like stats because they prove Drogba wasn’t as good as his mind likes to believe. Sure he was an immense big game player, but his overall consistency was not there and the stats show that.
He also doesnt like stats because he doesnt understand them. When buvey brings up suarez at barca, rory says its only PL. Yet he includes the stats for suarez' whole season (including outside the PL) so drogba looks better.
Clearly didnt watch him then hes was on of chelseas best players to ever play for the club
@@ghostk6674 Being one of "chelsea's best ever players" holds no weight in an debate about who the better player was you muppet 🤣
drogba gave me nightmares as a young arsenal fan watching football in the mid 00s but i can’t rank him above suarez or rooney unless i had a traumatic brain injury.
@ghostk6674 dived quite alot too
obviously the debate is about premier league primes, but if it was career prime i wouldnt even put rooney and drogba in the conversation with suarez. during his time as number 9 for barca he was the best striker in the world, perhaps even the best to ever do it.
Rory : i dont like stats for arguments.
Also Rory : but look at the stats
Love drog and Rooney but neither in the same league as Suarez. Suarez Vs Ronaldinho Vs Thierry would be a great debate.
I don't think the argument is too dissimilar tbh. Henry was the best all round footballer, Ronaldinho was the most clutch and just an absolute magician, Suarez was the best out and out no 9.
Didn’t Suarez win a copa America for his country as well. Footballing ability he is also ahead of them
The problem with these is you blend Rooney's longevity or Drogba's goals in cup finals when your own rules are a prime Premier League season. You argue Drogba's 37 goals were more than Suarez' 31, but you're including cups. But you cant include Suarez in La Liga..
And that 31 goal season was without a single penalty, still the most.
Also, Suarez' prime wasnt even in the Premier League, that's how bananas good he was.
Replace Drogba with Henry and this would've been much closer, but the majority will put Drogba third which shows he shouldn't belong (outside of a Chelsea fan forcing his inclusion)
100%
You can't include La Liga because the other 2 didn't play there, who knows if either would have been better than Suarez in that Barca team, you might not think it's likely but you can't prove it. You can include English cups and CL because they all played in them.
Also they ran a poll during this live debate, ended up roughly 45% each for Rooney and Suarez with Drogba on 10% lmao
@@jamesmoore4910Suarez won in Europe with Barcelona, so are the best teams in every league as bad the rest of La Liga?

Did Rory say us not winning the league in 2014 was Suarezs fault 😂😂 he scored 31 goals and got 17 assists in 33 games. All while playing with a defence of Flanagan, Cissoko, Sakho and Skrtel
His point was that Suarez got Liverpool so close to the title, imagine how many more goals he would have got had he not bitten someone and got banned, maybe wins them the Prem? I don't know if it's true though, did Liverpool win all those games that Suarez missed? Or did they drop an irrelevant amount of points in those games? If so then it's completely untrue lol
@jamesmoore4910 well they lost to Southampton in the opening 5 so yeah they did drop points. I just don't like how rory used it as a point to almost discredit Suarez when in reality the 11 that started for liverpool that year shouldn't have even got in the top 4 nevermind challenged
@@VortexAceZ yeah true he did try to use it as a slight against Suarez for some reason lol might be fair enough if they lost every game and Suarez would have won them the league if he didn't miss those games though, but I don't think that's true.
@jamesmoore4910 yeah the only argument he could've made on the ban was that Suarez was more susceptible to getting sent off and missing games not that he should've won them the league. But even still that point is so minute when you compare his goal record to the others
@@VortexAceZyeah even that's not a good point anyway because Rooney has to be way worse than Suarez for getting sent off and missing games lol I'd be surprised if Suarez missed a higher percentage through suspension!
The answer here is definitely Luis Suarez, you cant judge him solely based on what he did in the epl, but also look at what he did for Barca and Uruguay, he was imo head and shoulders clear of Rooney and Drogba. You could even argue that he is by far one of the greatest footballers in history to not win a Ballon Dor.
Drogba is 3 right off the bat.
I would go Suarez at 1 and Rooney at 2.
Suarez, Rooney, Drogba. There’s no other order than makes sense.
All round player
Rooney
Suarez
Drogba
As a striker
Suarez
Drogba
Rooney

SUAREZ
Rooney never won a golden boot
Drogba won One
There’s no way Rooney and drogba are above Suarez 😂
Prime Suarez was the best but I understand picking Rooney as he was in the premier league for much longer and was so consistent!
Absolutely love these trio prime debates 🔥
Suarez
rooney
drogba
drogba is certainly 3rd, the other two you can debate the order.
Suarez is up there with R9 and Thierry Henry as the best strikers of the modern era of football but people aren't ready for that conversation. He would've easily won several Ballon d'Ors if Messi and Ronaldo never existed
Drogba had two genuinely world class seasons. He's wrongly remembered for being one of the main players in Mourinho's first two Premier League title wins, where he actually started only roughly half the games both those seasons. Reputation carried massively by his goals in finals, as opposed to his consistency across many seasons.
But even an argument about players at their peak, Rooney and Suarez especially were both ahead of him.
You clearly don't remember how good drogba was then, stop pretending. Drogba WAS mourinho's main guy and he was one of the integral part of chelsea winning those trophies. Not just for clutch moments, but drogba was consistently performing at the highest level. People sleep of drogba including yourself because he has less goals
Peak Suarez on another level
I can see why Rory doesn't like to put that much emphasis on stats, because he's wrong about them, 90% of the time...Sorry, NINETY PERCENT of the time(For Rory)
Suarez's 53(Fifty Three) goals in 15/16(Fifteen/Sixteen) season for Barcelona is OBVISOULY less than Drogba's 37(Thirty Seven) in a single season.
Please ignore the braces, those are for Rory, you know, because he struggles with numbers.
👏👏👏!!
Suarez easy win, i mean 2015/2016 Season with Barca was unreal too, and while i love both Drogba and Rooney they are just nowhere near prime Suarez. Prime Rooney in 2010 is better than any other version of Drogba though (Even if Drogba was one of the most clutch players ever).

1. Suarez.
2. Rooney.
3. Drogba.

Suarez 13/14 is of course the best. Feel like everyone is gonna say Rooney after him, but I don't think people should underestimate Drogba's 09/10 prem season. 39 goals/assists in 31 games and won the league. I don't know if Rooney ever had a single prem season as good as that.
If any of you lot ever look at player ratings on Whoscored, drogba's 09/10 is the second highest average rating (8.32) for any prem player since the website started after Suarez (8.43) in 13/14
rooney was better than that every season he played pretty much, you do realize he played CAM,on the wing, second striker, while drogba always played preffered position as no.9
First of all Rooney mostly played wide or as a number 10, there were very few seasons where he played as an actual number 9, he was 2nd highest goalscorer twice with, once in 09-10 behind Drogba with 26 goals and in 11-12 with 27 goals behind RVP, rooney finished his career with 2nd highest goal scorer and 3rd highest assist provider in the PL history, that too is considered by many to be an underachievement after his career faded well before he touched the age of 30
@@LocalNoob_2 the idea you can say he was better than that "every season" is absolutely insane lol. He only had 2 seasons in his career that even come close statistically to the G/A totals. He also spent the majority of his prime playing as a centre forward, there were only a handful of seasons where he spent more time playing slightly deeper as a second striker. He never played a majority of games on the wing. The idea that rooney played deeper and therefore his goal stats are more impressive, you could also say the same thing for Drogba's assist total in 09/10 which was far superior to rooney's in his top goal scoring seasons. Drogba was so much more than just a goal threat, he was mainly a back to goal striker, who won everything in the air, held up the ball incredibly and was great at getting players involved around him, similar to giroud with france.
Rooney was a more consistent player for longer, but at their absolute peak, it was definitely debatable
Drogba also only took one pen that season in the league

Drogba and Rooney both only scored 20+ league goals in two seasons of their entire careers. Suarez scored 20+ league goals in nine seasons. Career goals Suarez (477), Rooney (313), Drogba (303), the gap is HUGE. Most goals in a single season Suarez (59), Rooney (34), Drogba (37), again the gap is HUGE. might be a cop out answer but it honestly would depend on the squad/system that you play them in. Rooney would drop deep and create for Ronaldo, Drogba would hold the ball up against defenders and play the ball down to Lampard, and Suarez would play the offside line and always try to get played in or have little one-twos to get behind. stylistically all very different players. personally, i would take Drogba because he was so clutch and always showed up in the big games and he was just a complete striker.
Over a 38 game season, 1. rooney 2. Suarez 3. Drogba
In a one off final, 1. Drogba 2. Suarez 3. Rooney

Drogba being in this conversation is insane. I haven't even begun the video, but this shouldn't have had him in it.
its a "prime" debate tho. Drogba 09/10 prem season is all time great
@@onetwo8847in their ‘primes’ Michu scored more goals in the premier league than Eden Hazard ever did. Does that mean this is an actual debate then? Stupid argument.
@@tommyvinceze6249drogba is a complete striker who scored 29 goals and assisted 10 assists in 31 games with one penalty that season is better than any Rooney season as a striker.
@@pauliyonas3576 one season isn’t long enough you need at least two or three
1. Suárez
2. Rooney
3. Drogba
Anything else is undeniably wrong.
in a premier league legacy term rooney/suarez/drogba in terms of footballing peak suarez hit a higher ceiling than the other 2
If this is a prime debate why aren’t they talking about Suarez in Barcaleno
Steven Gerrard and Robbie Fowler both say "Hi" by the way when it comes to who do you want to get the chance in the big game, but Rory is never more Chelsea-blind than in these ranking conversations...
It has to be the nutmeg specialist
What is “prime” if it’s based off 1 season then it’s very different to if it’s over a 2-3 year period
Drogba has a better non-penalty G/A rate than Harry Kane in the PL btw.
As for comparing seasons, 09/10 he scored 29 goals while not on pens in 200 minutes less than Suarez’s 31 season. Lampard scored 10 penalties that season.
I also think Rooney and Drogba could have done similar numbers to Suarez at Barca. La Liga is mid apart from 3 teams and they would have been playing with the best creative player of all time.
Drogba would never do any of that bro
Drogba would never win 2 golden boots
Suarez and Drogba ain't even close
@@BiggestBirdonMars in a league as weak as La Liga??? With Messi and Neymar setting him up? He would get twice as many goals as Suarez 💀💀💀
@@teddyeastside8051 LA Liga teams were dominating Europe back then so you saying they're weak is such a wrong statement
And Drogba has never been a consistent goal scorer no where near suarez is
Theres a reason suarez won the golden Boot twice
Drogba is no where near the quality of suarez, both in stats and pure footballing ability so I don't know what you're arguing about
You're just dick riding Drogba
And a non penalty average higher than Kane doesn't make him any better
When it comes to consistency and being a better striker suarez is Up there with best
Didiier Drogba would never been able to match the level of neymar and Messi those guys played a standard of football that could only be played if :
1. You could sync with them
2. You could only sync with them if you were on their level and DROGBA IS NOT ON THEIR LEVEL
So ill say it once and I won't say it again
Stop WAFFLING
Suarez is one of the best number 9’s in the history of the game. 3rd best in this generation behind only the 2 greatest players of all time
Strange one for me this long term I'd have Rooney but for a couple of seasons I'd have suarez but in a final I'd sub either of them for Drogba

WRONG! Sturrage was scoring/winning for Liverpool in those 7 games. He joint Ruud's 10 games in a goal redid....until Vardy broke it.
They didn't consider Barcelona Suarez
Prime Suarez and Drogba were 9s. Prime Rooney was early 20s Rooney. He was an old fashioned second striker style of 10. In this hypothetical final, you play Drogba as the 9 and Rooney plays in behind him.
A Chelsea fan and United fan discussing a Liverpool player fairly? Seems likely
Do Lampard Gerrard band scholes next...and let's have a war😂😂
Love how Rory and Buvey always go on about silverware, easy when your club is owned by a country eh? Rooney for his consistency for me but its really close (obviously Rooney over Henry is absurd)
Rory saying he don't like talking about stats...and when the comparison between Gerrard and Lampard comes up ..he brings up the so called "Stats"
swear theyve had this convo about 8 times now. i already know their opinions without watching
I think it’s stats that bring Drogba down. He’s my favourite player of all time, but bias aside, it would probably be the other two above him. But I do agree that if you wanted a man to win you a final, with all the pressure on you to score the winner. Then that’s where Drogba is 1
Suarez, Rooney, Drogba. All legends though
Suarez at Barcelona was in an other level. I am a Drogba fan btw.
This is critical
Suarez dragged that Liverpool team up levels, they weren't a good side at all. The other two had truly outstanding teams, they could have an off game. Suarez was on it every second he was on the pitch
